< Genesis 3 >

1 Now the serpent was more shrewd than any of the wild animals which God had made. And he said to the woman, "Has God really said, 'You shall not eat of any tree of the garden?'"
Ndipo njoka inali yochenjera kuposa nyama yakuthengo iliyonse imene Yehova Mulungu anapanga. Njokayo inati kwa mkaziyo, “Kodi Mulungu ananenadi kuti, ‘Inu musadye zipatso za mtengo uliwonse mʼmundamu?’”
2 And the woman said to the serpent, "Of the fruit of the trees of the garden we may eat,
Mkaziyo anati kwa njokayo, “Tikhoza kudya zipatso za mʼmitengo ya mʼmundawu,
3 but of the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, 'You shall not eat of it, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.'"
koma Mulungu anati, ‘Musadye zipatso za mu mtengo umene uli pakati pa munda, ndipo musadzawukhudze kuti mungadzafe.’”
4 The serpent said to the woman, "You won't surely die,
“Ndithudi simudzafa,” inatero njokayo kwa mkaziyo.
5 for God knows that in the day you eat it, your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."
“Pakuti Mulungu akudziwa kuti tsiku limene mudzadye zipatso za mu mtengowo, maso anu adzatsekuka, ndipo mudzakhala ngati Mulungu, wodziwa zabwino ndi zoyipa.”
6 When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit, and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate.
Pamene mkaziyo anaona kuti mtengowo unali wabwino kudya ndi wokongola ndi kuti unali wopatsa nzeru, anatengako zipatso zake nadya. Zina anamupatsako mwamuna wake amene anali naye pomwepo ndipo naye anadyanso.
7 The eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked. So they sewed fig leaves together, and made coverings for themselves.
Kenaka maso awo anatsekuka, ndipo anazindikira kuti anali maliseche. Choncho anasoka masamba a mkuyu nadzipangira zovala.
8 They heard the voice of God walking in the garden during the breeze of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of God among the trees of the garden.
Kenaka munthu uja ndi mkazi wake anamva mtswatswa wa Yehova Mulungu akuyendayenda mʼmundamo madzulo a tsikulo, ndipo iwo anabisala pamaso pa Yehova Mulungu pakati pa mitengo ya mʼmundamo.
9 So God called to the man, and said to him, "Where are you?"
Yehova Mulungu anayitana munthu uja kuti, “Uli kuti?”
10 And he said, "I heard your voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; so I hid myself."
Iye anayankha, “Ndinakumvani mʼmundamo, ndipo ndimaopa chifukwa ndinali maliseche; choncho ndinabisala.”
11 And he said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?"
Ndipo anamufunsa, “Ndani anakuwuza kuti uli maliseche? Kodi wadya zipatso za mtengo umene ndinakulamulira kuti usadye?”
12 The man said, "The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate."
Koma munthu uja anati, “Mkazi amene munandipatsa kuti ndizikhala nayeyu anandipatsako chipatso cha mtengowo ndipo ndinadya.”
13 Then God said to the woman, "What is this you have done?" The woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate."
Tsono Yehova Mulungu anati kwa mkaziyo, “Wachitachi nʼchiyani?” Mkaziyo anati, “Njoka inandinamiza, ndipo ndinadya.”
14 So God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this, cursed are you above every tame animal, and above every wild animal. On your belly you shall go, and you shall eat dust all the days of your life.
Choncho Yehova Mulungu anati kwa njokayo, “Popeza wachita zimenezi, “Ndiwe wotembereredwa kuposa ziweto zonse ndi nyama zakuthengo zonse. Udzayenda chafufumimba ndipo udzadya fumbi masiku onse a moyo wako.
15 I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will bruise your head, and you will bruise his heel."
Ndipo ndidzayika chidani pakati pa iwe ndi mkaziyo, pakati pa mbewu yako ndi mbewu yake; Iye adzaphwanya mutu wako ndipo iwe udzaluma chidendene chake.”
16 And to the woman he said, "I will greatly multiply your pain in childbirth. In pain you will bring forth children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you."
Kwa mkaziyo Iye anati, “Ndidzachulukitsa ululu wako kwambiri pamene uli ndi pakati; ndipo udzamva ululu pa nthawi yako yobereka ana. Udzakhumba mwamuna wako, ndipo adzakulamulira.”
17 To Adam he said, "Because you have listened to your wife's voice, and have eaten of the tree, of which I commanded you, saying, 'You shall not eat of it,' cursed is the ground for your sake. In toil you will eat of it all the days of your life.
Ndipo kwa Adamu Mulungu anati, “Chifukwa wamvera mkazi wako ndipo wadya zipatso za mu mtengo umene ndinakulamulira kuti, ‘Usadye.’ “Nthaka yatembereredwa chifukwa cha iwe, movutikira udzadya zochokera mʼnthakamo masiku onse a moyo wako.
18 Thorns also and thistles will it bring forth to you; and you will eat the plants of the field.
Mʼnthakamo mudzamera minga ndi nthula ndipo udzadya zomera zakuthengo.
19 By the sweat of your face will you eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. For you are dust, and to dust you shall return."
Kuti upeze chakudya udzayenera kukhetsa thukuta, mpaka utabwerera ku nthaka pakuti unachokera kumeneko; pakuti ndiwe fumbi ku fumbi komweko udzabwerera.”
20 The man called his wife Eve, because she was the mother of all living.
Munthu uja anatcha mkazi wake Hava, chifukwa iyeyu adzakhala mayi wa anthu onse amoyo.
21 And God made clothing out of skins for Adam and for his wife, and clothed them.
Yehova Mulungu anapangira Adamu ndi mkazi wake zovala zachikopa ndipo anawaveka.
22 Then God said, "Look, the man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil. So now, let us send him out, lest he reach out his hand and also take of the tree of life and eat, and live forever."
Ndipo Yehova Mulungu anati, “Tsopano munthu uyu wasanduka mmodzi wa ife, wodziwa zabwino ndi zoyipa. Iyeyu asaloledwe kutambasula dzanja ndi kutengako zipatso za mu mtengo wopatsa moyo uja kuti angakhale ndi moyo mpaka muyaya.”
23 Therefore YHWH sent him out of the garden of Eden, to till the ground from which he was taken.
Kotero Yehova Mulungu anatulutsa Adamu Mʼmunda wa Edeni kuti azilima mʼnthaka imene anachokera.
24 So he drove out the man; and he stationed the cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every direction, to guard the way to the tree of life.
Atamuthamangitsa munthu uja, Yehova anayika Akerubi mbali ya kummawa kwa Munda wa Edeni ndi lupanga lamoto limene limayendayenda ponsepo, kuteteza njira ya ku mtengo wopatsa moyo.
