Ezekiel 15

1 The word of YHWH came to me, saying,

Vino a mí la palabra de Yahvé, diciendo:

2 "Son of man, what is the vine tree more than any tree, the vine-branch which is among the trees of the forest?

“Hijo de hombre, ¿qué es el árbol de la vid más que cualquier otro árbol, el sarmiento que está entre los árboles del bosque?

3 Shall wood be taken of it to make any work? Or will men take a pin of it to hang any vessel thereon?

¿Se tomará de él madera para hacer algo? ¿Acaso se tomará de él un alfiler para colgar de él alguna vasija?

4 Look, it is cast into the fire for fuel; the fire has devoured both its ends, and its midst is burned: is it profitable for any work?

He aquí que se echa al fuego como combustible; el fuego ha devorado sus dos extremos, y el centro se ha quemado. ¿Es útil para alguna obra?

5 Look, when it was whole, it was meet for no work: how much less, when the fire has devoured it, and it is burned, shall it yet be meet for any work.

He aquí que cuando estaba entero, no servía para ninguna obra. ¿Cuánto menos, cuando el fuego lo haya devorado y se haya quemado, será todavía útil para alguna obra?”

6 "Therefore thus says YHWH: 'As the vine tree among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so will I give the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

Por eso dice el Señor Yahvé: “Como la madera de la vid entre los árboles del bosque, que he dado al fuego como combustible, así daré a los habitantes de Jerusalén.

7 I will set my face against them; they shall go forth from the fire, but the fire shall devour them; and you shall know that I am YHWH, when I set my face against them.

Pondré mi rostro contra ellos. Saldrán del fuego, pero el fuego los seguirá devorando. Entonces sabrás que yo soy Yahvé, cuando ponga mi rostro contra ellos.

8 I will make the land desolate, because they have committed a trespass,' says YHWH."

Haré que la tierra quede desolada, porque han actuado con infidelidad”, dice el Señor Yahvé.
