< Deuteronomy 5 >
1 Moses called to all Israel, and said to them, Hear, Israel, the statutes and the ordinances which I speak in your ears this day, that you may learn them, and observe to do them.
2 YHWH our God made a covenant with us in Horeb.
Tas Kungs, mūsu Dievs, ar mums derību derējis Horebā.
3 YHWH did not make this covenant with our fathers, but with us, even us, who are all of us here alive this day.
4 YHWH spoke with you face to face on the mountain out of the midst of the fire,
5 (I stood between YHWH and you at that time, to show you the words of YHWH: for you were afraid because of the fire, and did not go up onto the mountain; ) saying,
Es tanī laikā stāvēju starp To Kungu un jums, jums darīt zināmu Tā Kunga vārdu; jo jūs bijāties no tā uguns un nekāpāt uz to kalnu. Un Viņš sacīja:
6 "I am YHWH your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
Es esmu Tas Kungs, tavs Dievs, kas tevi izvedis no Ēģiptes zemes, no tā vergu nama.
7 "Do not have no other gods before me.
Tev nebūs citus dievus turēt priekš Manis.
8 "Do not make an engraved image for yourself, or any likeness of what is in heaven above, or on the earth below, or that is in the waters below the earth.
Tev nebūs sev darīt nekādu tēlu nedz līdzību ne no tā, kas augšā debesīs, ne no tā, kas apakšā virs zemes, ne no tā, kas ūdenī apakš zemes.
9 You must not bow down yourself to them, nor serve them; for I, YHWH, your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, upon the third and upon the fourth [generation] of those who hate me;
Tev nebūs priekš tiem zemē mesties nedz tiem kalpot; jo Es Tas Kungs, tavs Dievs, esmu stiprs un dusmīgs Dievs, kas piemeklē tēvu grēkus pie bērniem trešā un ceturtā augumā pie tiem, kas Mani ienīst,
10 and showing loving kindness to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.
11 "Do not take the name of YHWH your God in vain: for YHWH will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.
Tev nebūs Tā Kunga, sava Dieva, vārdu nelietīgi velti valkāt, jo Dievs to nepametīs nesodītu, kas Viņa vārdu nelietīgi velti valkā.
12 "Observe the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, as YHWH your God commanded you.
Turi to dusēšanas dienu, ka tu to svētī, itin kā tev Tas Kungs, tavs Dievs ir pavēlējis.
13 Six days you may labor, and do all your work;
Sešas dienas tev būs strādāt un visu savu darbu darīt;
14 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to YHWH your God. On it you must not do any work, you, your son, your daughter, your male servant, nor your female servant, your ox, nor your donkey, nor your livestock, your stranger who is within your gates; that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you.
Bet tā septītā diena ir Tā Kunga, tava Dieva, dusēšanas diena; tad tev nebūs nekādu darbu darīt, ne tev, ne tavam dēlam, ne tavai meitai, ne tavam kalpam, ne tavai kalponei, ne tavam vērsim, ne tavam ēzelim, nedz kādam no taviem lopiem, nedz tavam svešiniekam, kas ir tavos vārtos, lai tavs kalps un tava kalpone var dusēt tā kā tu.
15 Remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and YHWH your God brought you out of there by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm: therefore YHWH your God commanded you to keep the Sabbath day.
Jo tev būs pieminēt, ka tu esi bijis kalps Ēģiptes zemē, un ka Tas Kungs, tavs Dievs, tevi no turienes ir izvedis caur stipru roku un izstieptu elkoni, tāpēc Tas Kungs, tavs Dievs, tev ir pavēlējis, turēt to dusēšanas dienu.
16 "Honor your father and your mother, as YHWH your God commanded you; that your days may be long, and that it may go well with you, in the land which YHWH your God gives you.
17 "Do not commit adultery.
Tev nebūs nokaut.
Un tev nebūs laulību pārkāpt.
20 "Do not give false testimony against your neighbor.
Un tev nebūs nepatiesu liecību dot pret savu tuvāko.
21 "Do not covet your neighbor's wife. Do not crave your neighbor's house, his field, or his male servant, or his female servant, his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor's."
Un tev nebūs iekārot sava tuvākā sievu. Un tev nebūs iekārot sava tuvākā namu, nedz viņa tīrumu, nedz viņa kalpu, nedz viņa kalponi, nedz viņa vērsi, nedz viņa ēzeli, nedz kaut ko, kas tavam tuvākam pieder.
22 These words YHWH spoke to all your assembly on the mountain out of the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice; and he added no more. And he wrote them on two tablets of stone, and gave them to me.
23 It happened, when you heard the voice out of the midst of the darkness, while the mountain was burning with fire, that you came near to me, even all the heads of your tribes, and your elders;
24 and you said, "Look, YHWH our God has shown us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire: we have seen this day that God does speak with man, and he lives.
25 Now therefore why should we die? For this great fire will consume us: if we hear the voice of YHWH our God any more, then we shall die.
Bet nu, kāpēc mums būs mirt? Jo šis lielais uguns mūs norīs; ja mēs Tā Kunga, sava Dieva, balsi vēl joprojām dzirdēsim, tad mums jāmirst.
26 For who is there of all flesh, that has heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as we have, and lived?
27 Go near, and hear all that YHWH our God shall say to you, and tell us all that YHWH our God speaks to you; and we will hear it, and do it."
28 YHWH heard the voice of your words, when you spoke to me; and YHWH said to me, "I have heard the voice of the words of this people, which they have spoken to you: they have well said all that they have spoken.
29 Oh that there were such a heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children forever.
Ak kaut viņiem būtu tāda sirds, Mani bīties un visus Manus baušļus turēt mūžīgi, ka viņiem labi klātos un viņu bērniem mūžīgi!
30 "Go tell them, Return to your tents.
Ej, saki tiem: griežaties atpakaļ uz savām teltīm.
31 But as for you, stand here by me, and I will tell you all the commandment, and the statutes, and the ordinances, which you shall teach them, that they may do them in the land which I give them to possess it."
32 You shall observe to do therefore as YHWH your God has commanded you: you shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.
33 You shall walk in all the way which YHWH your God has commanded you, that you may live, and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you shall possess.
