Deuteronomy 32
1 Give ear, you heavens, and I will speak. Let the earth hear the words of my mouth.
Escuchad, cielos, y yo hablaré. Que la tierra escuche las palabras de mi boca.
2 My doctrine shall drop as the rain. My speech shall condense as the dew, as the small rain on the tender grass, as the showers on the herb.
Mi doctrina caerá como la lluvia. Mi discurso se condensará como el rocío, como la lluvia brumosa sobre la hierba tierna, como las duchas sobre la hierba.
3 For I will proclaim the name of YHWH. Ascribe greatness to our God.
Porque proclamaré el nombre de Yahvé. ¡Atribuye la grandeza a nuestro Dios!
4 The Rock, his work is perfect, for all his ways are justice: a God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and right is he.
La Roca: su trabajo es perfecto, porque todos sus caminos son justos. Un Dios de fidelidad que no se equivoca, justo y correcto es él.
5 They have dealt corruptly with him. They are not his children, because of their defect. They are a perverse and crooked generation.
Han hecho un trato corrupto con él. No son sus hijos, por su defecto. Son una generación perversa y torcida.
6 Do you thus requite YHWH, foolish people and unwise? Isn't he your father who has bought you? He has made you, and established you.
¿Es esta la forma en que pagas a Yahvé, ¿Gente tonta e imprudente? ¿No es tu padre quien te ha comprado? Él te ha hecho y te ha establecido.
7 Remember the days of old. Consider the years of many generations. Ask your father, and he will show you; your elders, and they will tell you.
Recuerda los días de antaño. Considera los años de muchas generaciones. Pregúntale a tu padre, y él te lo mostrará; a tus mayores, y ellos te lo dirán.
8 When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance, when he divided humankind, he set the bounds of the peoples according to the number of the sons of God.
Cuando el Altísimo dio a las naciones su herencia, cuando separó a los hijos de los hombres, fijó los límites de los pueblos según el número de los hijos de Israel.
9 For YHWH's portion is his people. Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.
Porque la porción de Yahvé es su pueblo. Jacob es el lote de su herencia.
10 He found him in a desert land, in the waste howling wilderness. He surrounded him. He cared for him. He kept him as the apple of his eye.
Lo encontró en una tierra desierta, en el desierto de los aullidos. Lo rodeó. Se preocupó por él. Lo mantuvo como la niña de sus ojos.
11 As an eagle that stirs up her nest, that flutters over her young, he spread abroad his wings, he took them, he bore them on his feathers.
Como un águila que agita su nido, que revolotea sobre sus crías, extendió sus alas, los tomó, los llevaba en sus plumas.
12 YHWH alone led him. There was no foreign god with him.
Sólo Yahvé lo guió. No había ningún dios extranjero con él.
13 He made him ride on the high places of the earth. He ate the increase of the field. He caused him to suck honey out of the rock, oil out of the flinty rock;
Lo hizo cabalgar sobre las alturas de la tierra. Se comió la cosecha del campo. Le hizo chupar la miel de la roca, aceite de la roca pedernal;
14 Butter of the herd, and milk of the flock, with fat of lambs, rams of the breed of Bashan, and goats, with the finest of the wheat. Of the blood of the grape you drank wine.
la mantequilla del rebaño, y la leche del rebaño, con grasa de cordero, carneros de la raza de Basán, y cabras, con el más fino de los trigos. De la sangre de la uva, bebisteis vino.
15 But Jacob ate his fill. Jeshurun grew fat, and kicked. You have grown fat. You have grown thick. You have become sleek. Then he forsook God who made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.
Pero Jeshurun engordó y pataleó. Has engordado. Has crecido en grosor. Te has vuelto elegante. Entonces abandonó a Dios que lo hizo, y rechazó la Roca de su salvación.
16 They moved him to jealousy with strange gods. They provoked him to anger with abominations.
Le provocaron celos con dioses extraños. Lo provocaron a la ira con abominaciones.
17 They sacrificed to demons, not God, to gods that they did not know, to new gods that came up recently, which your fathers did not dread.
Sacrificaban a los demonios, no a Dios, a dioses que no conocían, a los nuevos dioses que surgieron recientemente, que sus padres no temían.
18 the Rock who fathered you, you are unmindful, and have forgotten God who gave you birth.
De la Roca que se convirtió en tu padre, no te acuerdas, y has olvidado a Dios que te dio a luz.
19 YHWH saw and abhorred, because of the provocation of his sons and his daughters.
Yahvé vio y abominó, a causa de la provocación de sus hijos e hijas.
20 He said, "I will hide my face from them. I will see what their end shall be; for they are a very perverse generation, children in whom is no faithfulness.
Dijo: “Les ocultaré mi rostro. Veré cuál será su final; porque son una generación muy perversa, hijos en los que no hay fidelidad.
21 They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God. They have provoked me to anger with their vanities. I will move them to jealousy with those who are not a people. I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.
Me han movido a celos con lo que no es Dios. Me han provocado la ira con sus vanidades. Los moveré a celos con los que no son un pueblo. Los provocaré a la ira con una nación insensata.
22 For a fire is kindled in my anger, and burns to the lowest Sheol, and devours the earth with its increase, and sets the foundations of the mountains on fire. (Sheol h7585)
Porque un fuego se enciende en mi ira, que arde hasta el más bajo Sheol, devora la tierra con su aumento, y hace arder los cimientos de las montañas. (Sheol h7585)
23 "I will heap evils on them. I will spend my arrows on them.
“Les amontonaré males. Gastaré mis flechas en ellos.
24 They shall be wasted with hunger, and devoured with burning heat and bitter destruction. I will send the teeth of animals on them, With the poison of crawling creatures of the dust.
Se consumirán de hambre, y devorado con calor ardiente y amarga destrucción. Enviaré los dientes de los animales sobre ellos, con el veneno de las víboras que se deslizan en el polvo.
25 Outside the sword shall bereave, and in the rooms, terror; on both young man and virgin, The nursing infant with the gray-haired man.
Fuera de la espada se desgarrará, y en las habitaciones, el terror tanto en el joven como en la virgen, el bebé lactante con el hombre canoso.
26 I said, I want to cut them to pieces. I will remove the memory of them from men;
Dije que los dispersaría a lo lejos. Yo haría que su memoria cesara entre los hombres;
27 were it not that I feared the provocation of the enemy, lest their adversaries should judge wrongly, lest they should say, 'Our hand is exalted, YHWH has not done all this.'"
si no temiera la provocación del enemigo, para que sus adversarios no juzguen mal, para que no digan: “Nuestra mano es exaltada”; Yahvé no ha hecho todo esto’”.
28 For they are a nation void of counsel. There is no understanding in them.
Porque son una nación vacía de consejo. No hay comprensión en ellos.
29 Oh that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end.
Oh, que fueran sabios, que entendieran esto, ¡que consideren su último fin!
30 How could one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had sold them, and YHWH had delivered them up?
Cómo podría uno perseguir a mil, y dos pusieron en fuga a diez mil, a menos que su Roca los haya vendido, y Yahvé los había entregado?
31 For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges.
Porque su roca no es como la nuestra, incluso nuestros enemigos lo reconocen.
32 For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, of the fields of Gomorrah. Their grapes are grapes of gall, Their clusters are bitter.
Porque su vid es de la vid de Sodoma, de los campos de Gomorra. Sus uvas son uvas venenosas. Sus racimos son amargos.
33 Their wine is the poison of serpents, The cruel venom of asps.
Su vino es el veneno de las serpientes, el cruel veneno de los áspides.
34 "Isn't this laid up in store with me, sealed up among my treasures?
“¿No está esto guardado en la tienda conmigo, ¿encerrado entre mis tesoros?
35 Vengeance is mine, I will repay, at the time when their foot slides; for the day of their calamity is near, and the things to come hasten upon them."
Mía es la venganza y la recompensa, en el momento en que su pie se desliza, porque se acerca el día de su calamidad. Su perdición se precipita sobre ellos”.
36 For YHWH will judge his people, and have compassion on his servants, when he sees that their strength is gone and there is none remaining, confined or set free.
Porque Yahvé juzgará a su pueblo, y tenga compasión de sus siervos, cuando vea que su poder ha desaparecido, que no queda nadie, encerrado o suelto.
37 And he will say, "Where are their gods, the rock in which they took refuge?
Él dirá: “¿Dónde están sus dioses? la roca en la que se refugiaron,
38 Who ate the fat of their sacrifices and drank the wine of their drink offering? Let them rise up and help you. Let them be your protection.
que comían la grasa de sus sacrificios, y bebieron el vino de su libación? ¡Que se levanten y te ayuden! Deja que sean tu protección.
39 "See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god besides me. I kill, and I make alive. I wound, and I heal; and there is no one who can deliver out of my hand.
“Mira ahora que yo mismo soy él. No hay ningún dios conmigo. Yo mato y hago vivir. Hiero y curo. No hay nadie que pueda liberar de mi mano.
40 For I lift up my hand to heaven, and say, 'As I live forever,
Porque alzo mi mano al cielo y declaro, ya que vivo para siempre,
41 if I sharpen my flashing sword and my hand takes hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to my adversaries, and will recompense those who hate me.
si afilo mi reluciente espada, mi mano la agarra para juzgarla; Me vengaré de mis adversarios, y pagará a los que me odian.
42 I will make my arrows drunk with blood. My sword shall devour flesh with the blood of the slain and the captives, from the head of the leaders of the enemy.'"
Embriagaré mis flechas con sangre. Mi espada devorará la carne con la sangre de los muertos y de los cautivos, de la cabeza de los líderes del enemigo”.
43 Rejoice, O heavens, with him, and let all the angels of God worship him. Rejoice, O nations, with his people, and let all the children of God strengthen themselves in him. For he will avenge the blood of his children, and he will render vengeance to his enemies, and he will recompense them that hate him, and he atones for the land of his people.
Alegraos, naciones, con su pueblo, porque vengará la sangre de sus siervos. Se vengará de sus adversarios, y expiará su tierra y su pueblo.
44 Moses came and spoke all the words of this song in the ears of the people, he and Joshua the son of Nun.
Moisés vino y pronunció todas las palabras de este cántico a oídos del pueblo, él y Josué hijo de Nun.
45 Moses made an end of speaking all these words to all Israel;
Moisés terminó de recitar todas estas palabras a todo Israel.
46 He said to them, "Set your heart to all the words which I testify to you this day, which you shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law.
Les dijo: “Pongan su corazón en todas las palabras que yo les testifico hoy, las cuales mandarán a sus hijos a cumplir, todas las palabras de esta ley.
47 For it is no vain thing for you; because it is your life, and through this thing you shall prolong your days in the land, where you go over the Jordan to possess it."
Porque no es cosa vana para vosotros, porque es vuestra vida, y por medio de esto prolongaréis vuestros días en la tierra, donde pasáis el Jordán para poseerla.”
48 YHWH spoke to Moses that same day, saying,
Yahvé habló a Moisés aquel mismo día, diciendo:
49 "Go up into this mountain of Abarim, to Mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, that is over against Jericho; and see the land of Canaan, which I give to the children of Israel for a possession;
“Sube a este monte de Abarim, al monte Nebo, que está en la tierra de Moab, que está al otro lado de Jericó; y mira la tierra de Canaán, que yo doy a los hijos de Israel en posesión.
50 and die on the mountain where you go up, and be gathered to your people, as Aaron your brother died on Mount Hor, and was gathered to his people:
Muere en el monte al que subas, y sé reunido con tu pueblo, como murió Aarón, tu hermano, en el monte Hor, y fue reunido con su pueblo;
51 because you trespassed against me in the midst of the children of Israel at the waters of Meribah of Kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin; because you did not sanctify me in the midst of the children of Israel.
porque delinquiste contra mí entre los hijos de Israel en las aguas de Meribá de Cades, en el desierto de Zin; porque no defendiste mi santidad entre los hijos de Israel.
52 For you shall see the land before you; but you shall not go there into the land which I give the children of Israel."
Porque veréis la tierra desde lejos; pero no entraréis allí en la tierra que yo doy a los hijos de Israel.”
