Deuteronomy 17
1 You shall not sacrifice to YHWH your God an ox, or a sheep, in which is a blemish, or anything evil; for that is an abomination to YHWH your God.
௧“பழுதும் அவலட்சணமுமான யாதொரு மாட்டையாவது ஆட்டையாவது உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்குப் பலியிடவேண்டாம்; அது உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்கு அருவருப்பாக இருக்கும்.
2 If there is found in the midst of you, within any of your gates which YHWH your God gives you, man or woman, who does that which is evil in the sight of YHWH your God, in transgressing his covenant,
௨“உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவின் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாக எந்த ஆணாவது பெண்ணாவது உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா உனக்குக் கொடுக்கிற வாசல்கள் ஒன்றில் அக்கிரமம்செய்து, அவருடைய உடன்படிக்கையை மீறி,
3 and has gone and served other gods, and worshiped them, or the sun, or the moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded;
௩நான் விலக்கியிருக்கிற வேறே தெய்வங்களையாவது, சந்திரன் சூரியன் முதலான வானசேனைகளையாவது பணிந்து, அவைகளை வணங்குகிறதாகக் காணப்பட்டால்,
4 and it be told you, and you have heard of it, then you shall inquire diligently; and look, if it be true, and the thing certain, that such abomination is done in Israel,
௪அது உன் காதுகேட்க உனக்கு அறிவிக்கப்படும்போது, நீ அதை நன்றாக விசாரிக்கவேண்டும்; அது உண்மையென்றும், அப்படிப்பட்ட அருவருப்பு இஸ்ரவேலில் நடந்தது நிச்சயம் என்றும் காண்பாயானால்,
5 then you shall bring forth that man or that woman, who has done this evil thing, to your gates, even the man or the woman; and you shall stone them to death with stones.
௫அந்த அக்கிரமத்தைச்செய்த ஆணையும் பெண்ணையும் உன் வாசல்களுக்கு வெளியே கொண்டுபோய், அப்படிப்பட்டவர்கள் சாகும்படி கல்லெறிவாயாக.
6 At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he who is to die be put to death; at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death.
௬சாவுக்குப் பாத்திரமானவன் இரண்டு மூன்று சாட்சிகளுடைய வாக்கினால் கொலை செய்யப்படக்கடவன்; ஒரே சாட்சியினுடைய வாக்கினால் அவனைக் கொலைசெய்யக்கூடாது.
7 The hand of the witnesses shall be first on him to put him to death, and afterward the hand of all the people. So you shall put away the evil from the midst of you.
௭அவனைக் கொலை செய்கிறதற்குச் சாட்சிகளுடைய கைகள் முந்தியும் எல்லா மக்களுடைய கைகள் பிந்தியும் அவன்மேல் இருப்பதாக; இப்படியே தீமையை உன் நடுவிலிருந்து விலக்குவாயாக.
8 If there arises a matter too hard for you in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea, and between stroke and stroke, being matters of controversy within your gates; then you shall arise, and go up to the place which YHWH your God shall choose;
௮“உன் வாசல்களில் இரத்தப்பழிகளைக்குறித்தும், உரிமைகளைக்குறித்தும், காயம்பட்ட சேதங்களைக்குறித்தும், வழக்கு நேரிட்டு, நியாயந்தீர்ப்பது உனக்கு கடினமாக இருந்தால், நீ எழுந்து, உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா தெரிந்தெடுத்த இடத்திற்குப்போய்,
9 and you shall come to the priests the Levites, and to the judge who shall be in those days: and you shall inquire; and they shall show you the sentence of judgment.
௯லேவியர்களான ஆசாரியர்களிடத்திலும், அந்நாட்களில் இருக்கிற நியாயாதிபதிகளிடத்திலும் விசாரிக்கவேண்டும்; நியாயம் இன்னதென்று அவர்கள் உனக்கு அறிவிப்பார்கள்.
10 You shall do according to the tenor of the sentence which they shall show you from that place which YHWH shall choose; and you shall observe to do according to all that they shall teach you:
௧0யெகோவா தெரிந்துகொண்ட இடத்திலிருந்து அவர்கள் உனக்கு அறிவிக்கும் தீர்ப்புக்கு நீ இணங்கி, அவர்கள் உனக்குக் கட்டளையிடுகிறபடி செய்யக் கவனமாயிருப்பாயாக.
11 according to the tenor of the law which they shall teach you, and according to the judgment which they shall tell you, you shall do; you shall not turn aside from the sentence which they shall show you, to the right hand, nor to the left.
௧௧அவர்கள் உனக்கு அறிவிக்கும் தீர்ப்பைவிட்டு வலதுபுறம் இடதுபுறம் சாயாமல், அவர்கள் உனக்கு உணர்த்தும் பிரமாணத்தின்படியும், உனக்குச் சொல்லும் நியாயத்தீர்ப்பின்படியும் செய்யக்கடவாய்.
12 The man who does presumptuously, in not listening to the priest who stands to minister there before YHWH your God, or to the judge, even that man shall die: and you shall put away the evil from Israel.
௧௨அங்கே உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்கு ஆராதனை செய்யும்படி நிற்கிற ஆசாரியனுடைய சொல்லையாகிலும், நியாயாதிபதியினுடைய சொல்லையாகிலும் கேளாமல், ஒருவன் பிடிவாதம் செய்தால், அவன் சாகக்கடவன்; இப்படியே தீமையை இஸ்ரவேலிலிருந்து விலக்குவாயாக.
13 All the people shall hear, and fear, and do no more presumptuously.
௧௩அப்பொழுது மக்கள் எல்லோரும் அதைக் கேட்டு, பயந்து, இனி பிடிவாதம் செய்யாமலிருப்பார்கள்.
14 When you have come to the land which YHWH your God gives you, and shall possess it, and shall dwell in it, and shall say, "I will set a king over me, like all the nations that are around me";
௧௪“உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா உனக்குக் கொடுக்கும் தேசத்தில் நீ போய்ச் சேர்ந்து, அதைச் சொந்தமாக்கிக்கொண்டு, அதில் குடியேறினபின், நீ: என்னைச் சுற்றிலும் இருக்கிற சகல மக்களையும்போல, நானும் எனக்கு ஒரு ராஜாவை ஏற்படுத்தவேண்டும் என்பாயானால்;
15 you shall surely set him king over yourselves, whom YHWH your God shall choose: one from among your brothers you shall set king over you; you may not put a foreigner over you, who is not your brother.
௧௫உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா தெரிந்து கொள்பவனையே உனக்கு ராஜாவாக ஏற்படுத்தக்கடவாய்; உன் சகோதரர்களுக்குள்ளிருக்கிற ஒருவனையே உன்மேல் ராஜாவாக ஏற்படுத்தக்கடவாய்; உன் சகோதரன் அல்லாத அந்நியனை ராஜாவாக ஏற்படுத்தக்கூடாது.
16 Only he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt, to the end that he may multiply horses; because YHWH has said to you, "You shall not go back that way again."
௧௬அவன் அநேக குதிரைகளைச் சம்பாதிக்காமலும் அநேக குதிரைகளைத் தனக்குச் சம்பாதிக்கும்படி மக்களைத் திரும்ப எகிப்திற்குப் போகச்செய்யாமலும் இருப்பானாக; இனி அந்த வழியாக நீங்கள் திரும்பிப்போகவேண்டாம் என்று யெகோவா உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லியிருக்கிறாரே.
17 Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart not turn away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.
௧௭அவனுடைய இருதயம் பின்வாங்கிப் போகாமலிருக்க அவன் அநேகம் மனைவிகளைத் திருமணம் செய்யவேண்டாம்; வெள்ளியும் பொன்னும் தனக்கு மிகுதியாகப் பெருகச்செய்யவும் வேண்டாம்.
18 It shall be, when he sits on the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law on a scroll in the presence of the Levitical priests.
௧௮அவன் தன் சிங்காசனத்தின்மேல் வீற்றிருக்கும்போது, அவனுடைய இருதயம் அவன் சகோதரர்கள்பேரில் மேட்டிமை கொள்ளாமலும், கற்பனையைவிட்டு வலதுபுறம் இடதுபுறம் சாயாமலும்,
19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read it all the days of his life; that he may learn to fear YHWH his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them;
௧௯இந்த நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின் எல்லா வார்த்தைகளையும், இந்தக் கட்டளைகளையும் கைக்கொண்டு, இவைகளின்படி செய்வதற்காகத் தன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்குப் பயந்திருக்கும்படி கற்றுக்கொள்வதற்கு,
20 that his heart not be lifted up above his brothers, and that he not turn aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he and his children, in the midst of Israel.
௨0அவன் லேவியர்களாகிய ஆசாரியரிடத்திலிருக்கிற நியாயப்பிரமாண புத்தகத்தைப்பார்த்து, தனக்காக ஒரு பிரதியை எழுதி, தன்னிடத்தில் வைத்துக்கொண்டு, தன் உயிருள்ள நாட்களெல்லாம் அதை வாசிக்கவேண்டும்; இப்படிச் செய்வதினால், தானும் தன் மகன்களும் இஸ்ரவேலின் நடுவே தங்கள் ராஜ்ஜியத்திலே நீடித்து வாழ்வார்கள்.
