Amos 6
1 Woe to those who are at ease in Zion, and to those who are secure on the mountain of Samaria, the notable men of the foremost of nations, to whom the house of Israel come.
Weh denen, die sich dort auf Sion sicher fühlen und die sich auf Samarias Berg verlassen, die da der Heidenvölker Bestes zur Aus- und Einfuhr nehmen für das Haus von Israel!
2 Go to Calneh, and see; and from there go to Hamath the great; then go down to Gath of the Philistines. Are they better than these kingdoms? or is their border greater than your border?
"Nach Kalne geht und schaut euch um! Und zieht von dort her nach dem großen Hamat! Nach Gat in dem Philisterlande geht, ob ihr wohl tapfrer seid als diese Königreiche, ob ihr Gebiet nicht größer als das eure ist!
3 Those who put far away the evil day, and cause the seat of violence to come near;
Die ihr den Unglückstag fern wissen möchtet und doch den Sabbat der Gewalt herbeiführt!"
4 Who lie on beds of ivory, and stretch themselves on their couches, and eat the lambs out of the flock, and the calves out of the midst of the stall;
Gelagert auf den elfenbeingeschmückten Ruhebetten und hingestreckt auf ihre Ruhelager, verzehren sie der Herde Lämmer, die jungen Rinder aus dem Stall.
5 who strum on the strings of a harp; who invent for themselves instruments of music, like David;
Sie gröhlen zu der Zither Klang und musizieren wie verrückt.
6 who drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the best oils; but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.
Sie trinken von dem feinsten Wein und salben sich mit bestem Öl. Jedoch um Josephs Schaden kümmern sie sich nicht.
7 Therefore they will now go captive with the first who go captive; and the feasting and lounging will end.
Sie ziehen deshalb an der Spitze der Gefangnen fort; zu Ende ist der Schwelger Freudenmahl.
8 "YHWH has sworn by himself," says YHWH, the God of hosts: "I abhor the pride of Jacob, and detest his fortresses. Therefore I will deliver up the city with all that is in it.
Geschworen hat der Herr, der Herr, bei sich - ein Spruch des Herrn, des Gottes der Heerscharen -: "Ein Abscheu ist mir Jakobs Prunk; zuwider sind mir seine Schlösser. Ich geb die Stadt samt allem, was darinnen, preis.
9 And it will be, if there remain ten men in one house, they will die, and the remaining ones will be left.
Und blieben noch in einem einzigen Haus zehn Männer übrig, auch diese sollen sterben."
10 "When a man's relative carries him, even he who burns him, to bring bodies out of the house, and asks him who is in the innermost parts of the house, 'Is there yet any with you?' And he says, 'No;' then he will say, 'Hush. Indeed we must not mention the name of YHWH.'
Wenn dann der Lieblingssohn und Erbe einen forttragen läßt, um die Gebeine aus dem Haus zu schaffen, und fragt er die, die sich im Hintergrund des Hauses hält: "Ist jemand noch bei dir?" dann sagt sie: "Nein!" und sagt dann noch: "Kein Wort mehr weiter!", weil man des Herren Namen nicht mehr nennen darf.
11 "For, look, YHWH commands, and the great house will be smashed to pieces, and the little house into bits.
Denn so, fürwahr, bestimmt's der Herr: Das große Haus schlägt er in Trümmer; das kleine ganz in Stücke.
12 Do horses run on the rocky crags? Does one plow there with oxen? But you have turned justice into poison, and the fruit of righteousness into bitterness;
"Ja, laufen Rosse über Felsen? Kann man mit Stieren Felsen pflügen, daß ihr das Recht in Gift verwandelt, die Früchte der Gerechtigkeit in Wermut?
13 you who rejoice in Lo Debar, who say, 'Haven't we taken for ourselves Karnaim by our own strength?'
Ihr, die ihr über Lodabar euch freut, ihr, die ihr sagt: 'Ja, haben wir dem nicht durch unsre Kraft Karnajim uns erobert?'
14 For, look, I will raise up against you a nation, house of Israel," says YHWH, the God of hosts; "and they will afflict you from Lebo Hamath to the Wadi Arabah."
Fürwahr, ich lasse wider euch, du Haus von Israel", ein Spruch des Herrn, des Gottes der Heerscharen, "ein Volk erstehn, das euch bedrängt vom Weg nach Hamat bis zum Weidenbach."
