Acts 8
1 Saul was consenting to his death. A great persecution arose against the church which was in Jerusalem in that day. They were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except for the apostles.
१स्तेफनाचा जो खून झाला त्यास शौलाची संमती होती. त्या दिवसापासून यरूशलेम शहर; येथील ख्रिस्ताच्या मंडळीचा मोठा छळ सुरू झाला, प्रेषितांशिवाय इतर सर्व विश्वास ठेवणारे शिष्य यहूदीया व शोमरोन प्रांताच्या, कानाकोपऱ्यात पांगून गेले.
2 Devout men buried Stephen, and lamented greatly over him.
२काही धार्मिक मनुष्यांनी स्तेफनाला पुरले आणि त्याच्यासाठी त्यांनी फार शोक केला.
3 But Saul ravaged the church, entering into every house, and dragged both men and women off to prison.
३शौलाने ख्रिस्ताच्या मंडळीचा छळ करण्यास सुरुवात केली; तो घरोघर जाई विश्वास ठेवणारे पुरूष व स्त्रिया यांना धरून खेचून नेई, व तुरुंगात टाकीत असे.
4 Therefore those who were scattered abroad went around proclaiming the word.
४विश्वास ठेवणारे सगळीकडे पांगले होते जेथे कोठे विश्वास ठेवणारे जात तेथे ते लोकांस सुवार्ता सांगत.
5 And Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and proclaimed to them the Christ.
५फिलिप्प शोमरोन प्रांतातील एका शहरात गेला, त्याने ख्रिस्ताची घोषणा केली तेथील लोकांनी फिलिप्पाचे बोलणे ऐकले, व त्याने केलेले चमत्कार पाहिले.
6 The crowds listened with one accord to the things that were spoken by Philip, when they heard and saw the signs which he did.
६फिलिप्प जी चिन्हे करत असे व ज्या गोष्टी त्यांना सांगत असे, ते ती लक्षपूर्वक ऐकत असत.
7 For unclean spirits came out of many of those who had them. They came out, crying with a loud voice. Many who had been paralyzed and lame were healed.
७कारण ज्यांना अशुद्ध आत्मे लागले होते त्यांच्यातील पुष्कळांतून ते मोठ्याने ओरडून निघून गेले; तेथे बरेच लंगडे व अर्धांगवायू झालेले लोक बरे झाले.
8 There was great joy in that city.
८यामुळे शहरातील लोक फार आनंदित झाले.
9 But there was a certain man, Simon by name, who used to practice sorcery in the city, and amazed the people of Samaria, making himself out to be some great one,
९शिमोन नावाचा मनुष्य त्या नगरात राहत होता, तो जादूचे प्रयोग करीत असे; त्याच्या प्रयोगामुळे शोमरोन प्रांतातील लोक आश्चर्यचकित होत असत, तो स्वतःला फार मोठा समजत असे.
10 to whom they all listened, from the least to the greatest, saying, "This man is that power of God which is called Great."
१०अगदी लहानापासून मोठ्यापर्यंत लोक लक्षपूर्वक त्याचे ऐकत, ते म्हणत असत, “देवाची महान शक्ती असे ज्याला म्हणतात तोच हा मनुष्य आहे.”
11 They listened to him, because for a long time he had amazed them with his sorceries.
११त्याने आपल्या जादूमुळे बराच काळपर्यंत लोकांस चकीत केले, असल्याने लोक त्याचे ऐकत असत.
12 But when they believed Philip as he preached good news concerning the Kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
१२परंतु जेव्हा देवाचे राज्य व येशू ख्रिस्ताचे नाव ह्याविषयी फिलिप्पाने त्या लोकांस सुवार्ता सांगत असता त्यांनी त्याच्यावर विश्वास ठेवला, त्याचवेळी त्यांनी बाप्तिस्मा घेतला, त्यांच्यात जसे पुरूष होते तशा स्त्रियाही होत्या.
13 Simon himself also believed. Being baptized, he continued with Philip. Seeing signs and great miracles occurring, he was amazed.
१३स्वतः शिमोनाने विश्वास ठेवला: आणि त्याचा बाप्तिस्मा झाल्यावर, तो फिलिप्पबरोबर राहू लागला; आणि झालेले चमत्कार आणि अद्भूत चिन्हे पाहून, शिमोन आश्चर्याने थक्क झाला.
14 Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them,
१४यरूशलेम शहरामधील प्रेषितांनी हे ऐकले की शोमरोनातील लोकांनी देवाच्या वचनाचा स्वीकार केला, म्हणून पेत्र व योहान यांना प्रेषितांनी शोमरोनातील लोकांकडे पाठवले.
15 who, when they had come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Spirit;
१५पेत्र व योहान जेव्हा आले, तेव्हा त्यांनी शोमरोनी विश्वास ठेवणाऱ्यांना पवित्र आत्मा मिळावा म्हणून, प्रार्थना केली.
16 for he had not yet fallen upon any of them. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
१६या लोकांचा प्रभू येशूच्या नावात बाप्तिस्मा झाला होता, परंतु पवित्र आत्मा अजून त्यांच्यावर आला नव्हता.
17 Then they laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.
१७मग पेत्र व योहान यांनी त्यांच्या डोक्यावर हात ठेवला, आणि त्यांना पवित्र आत्मा मिळाला.
18 Now when Simon saw that the Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostles' hands, he offered them money,
१८शिमोनाने पाहिले की, प्रेषितांच्या हात ठेवण्याने लोकांस पवित्र आत्मा मिळाला तेव्हा शिमोनाने प्रेषितांना पैसे देऊ करून म्हटले.
19 saying, "Give me also this power, that whomever I lay my hands on may receive the Holy Spirit."
१९“मी ज्याच्यावर हात ठेवीन त्यास पवित्र आत्मा मिळेल, असा अधिकार मलासुद्धा द्या.”
20 But Peter said to him, "May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could obtain the gift of God with money.
२०पेत्र शिमोनाला म्हणाला, “तुझा व तुझ्या पैशाचा नाश होवो; कारण, देवाचे दान पैशाच्या बळावर विकत घेण्याचा तू विचार केला.”
21 You have neither part nor lot in this matter, for your heart is not right before God.
२१या कामात तू आमचा सहभागी होऊ शकणार नाहीस, कारण तुझे अंतःकरण देवासमोर योग्य नाही.
22 Repent therefore of this, your wickedness, and ask the Lord if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you.
२२तू ज्या या वाईट गोष्टी केल्या आहेत, त्यासाठी पश्चात्ताप कर, प्रभूला प्रार्थना कर, कदाचित तुइया अंतःकरणातील कल्पनेची तो तुला क्षमा करील.
23 For I see that you are in the gall of bitterness and in the bondage of iniquity."
२३कारण तुझ्या मनात कटू मत्सर भरलेला आहे व तू पापाच्या बंधनात आहेस, हे मला दिसून आले आहे.
24 Simon answered, "Pray for me to the Lord, that none of the things which you have spoken happen to me."
२४शिमोनाने उत्तर दिले, तुम्ही सांगितले त्यातले काही माझ्यावर येऊ नये म्हणून तुम्हीच प्रभूकडे माझ्यासाठी प्रार्थना करा.
25 They therefore, when they had testified and spoken the word of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem, and preached the Good News to many villages of the Samaritans.
२५नंतर पेत्र व योहान ह्यांनी आपली साक्ष लोकांस देऊन, “प्रभूचे वचन गाजवल्यावर ते यरूशलेम शहरास परत आले, परत येताना वाटेत त्यांनी अनेक शोमरोनी गावांत सुवार्ता सांगितली.”
26 But an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, "Arise, and go toward the south to the way that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza. This is a desert."
२६परमेश्वराचा दूत फिल्लीपाशी बोलला तो म्हणाला, “ऊठ आणि यरूशलेम शहराहून गज्जा शहराकडे जाते त्या वाटेने दक्षिणेकडे जा.” तो रस्ता वाळवंटातून जातो.
27 And he arose and went. And look, there was a man from Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Kandake, the queen of the Ethiopians, who was in charge over all her treasure. He had come to Jerusalem to worship,
२७मग तो उठला. व गेला, रस्त्यात त्यास एक इथिओपियाचा मनुष्य भेटला, तो मनुष्य षंढ होता, तो इथिओपियाच्या कांदके राणीकडे उच्च पदावर अधिकारी म्हणून कामाला होता. तो राणीच्या खजिन्याचा मुख्य होता, तो यरूशलेम शहरास उपासना करण्यासाठी गेला होता.
28 and he was returning. And sitting in his chariot, he was reading the prophet Isaiah.
२८आता तो परत जाताना आपल्या रथात बसून यशया संदेष्टयाचा ग्रंथ वाचत होता.
29 And the Spirit said to Philip, "Go and join up with that chariot."
२९पवित्र आत्मा फिलिप्पाला म्हणाला, “त्या रथाजवळ जा.”
30 And running near, Philip heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, "Do you understand what you are reading?"
३०मग फिलिप्प त्या रथाजवळ धावत धावत गेला, तेव्हा त्याने त्यास यशया संदेष्ट्याचा ग्रंथ वाचताना ऐकले, फिलिप्प त्यास म्हणाला, “तुम्ही जे वाचत आहात ते तुम्हास समजते काय?”
31 He said, "How can I, unless someone explains it to me?" So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.
३१तो अधिकारी म्हणाला, “मला हे कसे, समजेल कोणीतरी याचा उलगडा करून मला सांगायला हवे?” आणि त्याने फिलिप्पाला रथात चढून आपल्यापाशी बसण्यास बोलावले.
32 Now the passage of the Scripture which he was reading was this, "He was led like a sheep to the slaughter, and like a lamb before its shearer is silent, so he does not open his mouth.
३२शास्त्रलेखातील जो भाग तो वाचत होता तो भाग पुढीलप्रमाणे होता, “वधावयला घेऊन जात असलेल्या मेंढरासारखा तो होता; लोकर कातरणाऱ्यांपुढे गप्प राहणाऱ्या कोकरांप्रमाणे तो शांत राहिला, त्याने आपले तोंड उघडले नाही:
33 In his humiliation his justice was taken away. Who will declare his generation? For his life is taken from the earth."
३३त्यास लज्जित केले गेले त्याच्या लीन अवस्थेत त्यास न्याय मिळाला नाही: त्याच्या पिढीचे वर्णन कोण करील? कारण पृथ्वीवरील त्याचे जीवन संपविले गेले आहे.”
34 The eunuch answered Philip, "Who is the prophet talking about? About himself, or about someone else?"
३४तो अधिकारी फिलिप्पाला म्हणाला, “कृपाकरून मला सांगा, हे कोणाविषयी बोलतो आहे? तो स्वतःविषयी बोलत आहे, की दुसऱ्या कोणाविषयी बोलत आहे?”
35 Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture, preached to him Jesus.
३५मग फिलिप्पाने तोंड उघडले; व शास्त्रलेखातील यशया संदेष्ट्याच्या भागापासून सुरुवात करून येशूविषयीची सुवार्ता त्यास सांगितली.
36 As they went on the way, they came to some water, and the eunuch said, "Look, here is water. What is keeping me from being baptized?"
३६ते दोघे प्रवास करीत असताना, एका तळ्याजवळ आले; तेव्हा अधिकारी म्हणाला, “पाहा, येथे पाणी आहे; माझा बाप्तिस्मा करायला कोणती अडचण आहे?”
37 And he said to him, "If you believe with all your heart, you may." And he answered and said, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God."
३७फिलिप्पाने म्हटले, जर आपण आपल्या सर्व अंतःकरणाने विश्वास धरता तर योग्य आहे, त्याने उत्तर दिले, येशू ख्रिस्त देवाचा पुत्र आहे असा मी विश्वास धरतो.
38 He commanded the chariot to stand still, and they both went down into the water, both Philip and the eunuch, and he baptized him.
३८आणि षंढाने रथ थांबविण्याची आज्ञा केली, नंतर फिलिप्प व षंढ हे दोघे उतरून पाण्यात गेले, आणि फिलिप्पाने त्याचा बाप्तिस्मा केला.
39 When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught Philip away, and the eunuch did not see him any more, for he went on his way rejoicing.
३९ते जेव्हा पाण्याबाहेर आले, तेव्हा प्रभूच्या आत्म्याने फिलिप्पाला दूर नेले; आणि त्या अधिकाऱ्याला फिलिप्प पुन्हा दिसला नाही, पण तो अधिकारी पुढे तसाच मोठ्या आनंदाने प्रवास करीत घरी गेला.
40 But Philip was found at Azotus. Passing through, he preached the Good News to all the cities, until he came to Caesarea.
४०आपण अजोत नगरात आहोत. असे फिलिप्पाला दिसून आले आणि पुढे जात असताना जी जी गावे लागली त्या सर्व गावात त्याने सुवार्ता सांगितली, नंतर तो कैसरीया शहरास गेला.
