Acts 2
1 Now when the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place.
Al cumplirse el día de Pentecostés, se hallaban todos juntos en el mismo lugar,
2 Suddenly there came from the sky a sound like the rushing of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
cuando de repente sobrevino del cielo un ruido como de viento que soplaba con ímpetu, y llenó toda la casa donde estaban sentados.
3 Tongues like fire appeared and were distributed to them, and one sat on each of them.
Y se les aparecieron lenguas divididas, como de fuego, posándose sobre cada uno de ellos.
4 They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit enabled them to speak out.
Todos fueron entonces llenos del Espíritu Santo y se pusieron a hablar en otras lenguas, tal como el Espíritu les daba que hablasen.
5 Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout people from every nation under the sky.
Habitaban en Jerusalén judíos, hombres piadosos de todas las naciones que hay bajo el cielo.
6 When this sound was heard, the crowd came together, and were bewildered, because everyone heard them speaking in his own language.
Al producirse ese ruido, acudieron muchas gentes y quedaron confundidas, por cuanto cada uno los oía hablar en su propio idioma.
7 They were all amazed and marveled, saying, "Look, are not all these who speak Galileans?
Se pasmaban, pues, todos, y se asombraban diciéndose: “Mirad, ¿no son galileos todos estos que hablan?
8 How do we hear, everyone in our own native language?
¿Cómo es, pues, que los oímos cada uno en nuestra propia lengua en que hemos nacido?
9 Parthians, Medes, Elamites, and people from Mesopotamia, Judea, Cappadocia, Pontus, Asia,
Partos, medos, elamitas y los que habitan la Mesopotamia, Judea y Capadocia, el Ponto y el Asia,
10 Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, the parts of Libya around Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes,
Frigia y Panfilia, Egipto y las partes de la Libia por la región de Cirene, y los romanos que viven aquí,
11 Cretans and Arabians: we hear them speaking in our tongues the mighty works of God."
así judíos como prosélitos, cretenses y árabes, los oímos hablar en nuestras lenguas las maravillas de Dios”.
12 They were all amazed, and were perplexed, saying one to another, "What does this mean?"
Estando, pues, todos estupefactos y perplejos, se decían unos a otros: “¿Qué significa esto?”
13 Others, mocking, said, "They are filled with new wine."
Otros, en cambio, decían mofándose: “Están llenos de mosto”.
14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and spoke out to them, "You men of Judea, and all you who live in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and listen to my words.
Entonces Pedro, poniéndose de pie, junto con los once, levantó su voz y les habló: “Varones de Judea y todos los que moráis en Jerusalén, tomad conocimiento de esto y escuchad mis palabras.
15 For these are not drunk, as you suppose, seeing it is only nine in the morning.
Porque estos no están embriagados como sospecháis vosotros, pues no es más que la tercera hora del día;
16 But this is what has been spoken through the prophet Joel:
sino que esto es lo que fue dicho por el profeta Joel:
17 'And it will be in the last days, says God, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; and your sons and your daughters will prophesy, and your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams.
«Sucederá en los últimos días, dice Dios, que derramaré de mi espíritu sobre toda carne; profetizarán vuestros hijos y vuestras hijas, vuestros jóvenes tendrán visiones y vuestros ancianos verán sueños.
18 And even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.
Hasta sobre mis esclavos y sobre mis esclavas derramaré de mi espíritu en aquellos días, y profetizarán.
19 And I will show wonders in the sky above, and signs on the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and billows of smoke.
Haré prodigios arriba en el cielo y señales abajo en la tierra, sangre, y fuego, y vapor de humo.
20 The sun will be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and glorious day of the Lord comes.
El sol se convertirá en tinieblas, y la luna en sangre, antes que llegue el día del Señor, el día grande y celebre.
21 And it will be that whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.'
Y acaecerá que todo el que invocare el nombre del Señor, será salvo».
22 "Men of Israel, hear these words. Jesus the Nazorean, a man approved by God to you by mighty works and wonders and signs which God did by him in the midst of you, even as you yourselves know,
“Varones de Israel, escuchad estas palabras: A Jesús de Nazaret, hombre acreditado por Dios ante vosotros mediante obras poderosas, milagros y señales que Dios hizo por medio de Él entre vosotros, como vosotros mismos sabéis;
23 him, being delivered up by the determined counsel and foreknowledge of God, by the hand of lawless men, crucified and killed;
a Este, entregado según el designio determinado y la presciencia de Dios, vosotros, por manos de inicuos, lo hicisteis morir, crucificándolo.
24 whom God raised up, having freed him from the pains of death, because it was not possible that he should be held by it.
Pero Dios lo ha resucitado anulando los dolores de la muerte, puesto que era imposible que Él fuese dominado por ella.
25 For David says concerning him, 'I saw the Lord always before me, for he is at my right hand, that I should not be shaken.
Porque David dice respecto a Él: «Yo tenía siempre al Señor ante mis ojos, pues está a mi derecha para que yo no vacile.
26 Therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced, and moreover my flesh also will dwell in hope;
Por tanto se llenó de alegría mi corazón, y exultó mi lengua; y aun mi carne reposará en esperanza.
27 because you will not abandon my soul in Sheol, neither will you allow your Holy One to see decay. (Hadēs g86)
Porque no dejarás mi alma en el infierno, ni permitirás que tu Santo vea corrupción. (Hadēs g86)
28 You made known to me the paths of life. You will make me full of joy in your presence.'
Me hiciste conocer las sendas de la vida, y me colmarás de gozo con tu Rostro».
29 "Brothers, I may tell you freely of the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.
“Varones, hermanos, permitidme hablaros con libertad acerca del patriarca David, que murió y fue sepultado, y su sepulcro se conserva en medio de nosotros hasta el día de hoy.
30 Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that one of his descendants would sit on his throne,
Siendo profeta y sabiendo que Dios le había prometido con juramento que uno de sus descendientes se había de sentar sobre su trono,
31 he foreseeing this spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that neither was he left in Sheol, nor did his flesh see decay. (Hadēs g86)
habló proféticamente de la resurrección de Cristo diciendo: que Él ni fue dejado en el infierno ni su carne vio corrupción. (Hadēs g86)
32 This Jesus God raised up, to which we all are witnesses.
A este Jesús Dios le ha resucitado, de lo cual todos nosotros somos testigos.
33 Being therefore exalted by the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this, which you see and hear.
Elevado, pues, a la diestra de Dios, y habiendo recibido del Padre la promesa del Espíritu Santo, Él ha derramado a Este a quien vosotros estáis viendo y oyendo.
34 For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he says himself, 'The Lord said to my Lord, "Sit by my right hand,
Porque David no subió a los cielos; antes él mismo dice: «Dijo el Señor a mi Señor: Siéntate a mi diestra,
35 until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet."'
hasta que ponga Yo a tus enemigos por tarima de tus pies».
36 "Let all the house of Israel therefore know certainly that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified."
Por lo cual sepa toda la casa de Israel con certeza que Dios ha constituido Señor y Cristo a este mismo Jesús que vosotros clavasteis en la cruz”.
37 Now when they heard this, they were acutely distressed, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Brothers, what should we do?"
Al oír esto ellos se compungieron de corazón y dijeron a Pedro y a los demás apóstoles: “Varones, hermanos, ¿qué es lo que hemos de hacer?”
38 Peter said to them, "Repent, and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Respondioles Pedro: “Arrepentíos, dijo, y bautizaos cada uno de vosotros en el nombre de Jesucristo para remisión de vuestros pecados; y recibiréis el don del Espíritu Santo.
39 For to you is the promise, and to your children, and to all who are far off, even as many as the Lord our God will call to himself."
Pues para vosotros es la promesa, y para vuestros hijos y para todos los que están lejos, cuantos llamare el Señor Dios nuestro”.
40 With many other words he testified, and exhorted them, saying, "Save yourselves from this crooked generation."
Con otras muchas palabras dio testimonio, y los exhortaba diciendo: “Salvaos de esta generación perversa”.
41 Then those who received his word were baptized. There were added that day about three thousand souls.
Aquellos, pues, que aceptaron sus palabras, fueron bautizados y se agregaron en aquel día cerca de tres mil almas.
42 They continued steadfastly in the apostles' teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and prayer.
Ellos perseveraban en la doctrina de los apóstoles y en la comunión, en la fracción del pan y en las oraciones.
43 Fear came on every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.
Y sobre todos vino temor, y eran muchos los prodigios y milagros obrados por los apóstoles.
44 All who believed were together, and had all things in common.
Todos los creyentes vivían unidos, y todo lo tenían en común.
45 They sold their possessions and goods, and distributed them to all, according as anyone had need.
Vendían sus posesiones y bienes y los repartían entre todos, según la necesidad de cada uno.
46 Day by day, continuing steadfastly with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread at home, they took their food with gladness and singleness of heart,
Todos los días perseveraban unánimemente en el Templo, partían el pan por las casas y tomaban el alimento con alegría y sencillez de corazón,
47 praising God, and having favor with all the people. The Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.
alabando a Dios, y amados de todo el pueblo; y cada día añadía el Señor a la unidad los que se salvaban.
