2 Samuel 23

1 Now these are the last words of David. David the son of Jesse says, the man whom God raised up, the anointed of the God of Jacob, the sweet psalmist of Israel:

೧ದಾವೀದನ ಕೊನೆಯ ಮಾತುಗಳು - ಇಷಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ದಾವೀದನು, ಉನ್ನತ ಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವನು, ಯಾಕೋಬನ ದೇವರಿಂದ ಅಭಿಷೇಕಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವನೂ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರ ವರಕವಿಯೂ ಆಗಿರುವವನ ನುಡಿಗಳು:

2 "The Spirit of YHWH spoke by me. His word was on my tongue.

೨“ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆತ್ಮವು ನನ್ನ ಮೂಲಕ ಮಾತನಾಡಿತು. ಆತನ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ನನ್ನ ಬಾಯಲ್ಲಿತ್ತು.

3 The God of Jacob said, the Rock of Israel spoke to me, 'One who rules over men righteously, who rules in the fear of God,

೩ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಶರಣನೂ, ದೇವರೂ ಆಗಿರುವಾತನು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ, ದೇವರಲ್ಲಿ ಭಯಭಕ್ತಿಯುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿ ಜನರನ್ನು ನೀತಿಯಿಂದ ಆಳುವವನು,

4 shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun rises, a morning without clouds, when the tender grass springs out of the earth, through clear shining after rain.'

೪ಮೋಡಗಳಿಲ್ಲದ ಪ್ರಾತಃಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ತೇಜೋಮಯನಾಗಿ ಉದಯಿಸಿ, ಮೋಡಗಳನ್ನು ಚದುರಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟು, ಮಳೆಬಿದ್ದ ಭೂಮಿಯಿಂದ ಹುಲ್ಲನ್ನು ಮೊಳೆಯಿಸುವ ಸೂರ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಸಮಾನನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.

5 Most certainly my house is not so with God, yet he has made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure, for it is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he doesn't make it grow.

೫ನನ್ನ ಮನೆಯು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೀಗೆಯೇ ಸ್ಥಿರವಾಗಿರುತ್ತದಲ್ಲವೇ? ಆತನು ನನ್ನೊಡನೆ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾನಲ್ಲವೋ? ಅದು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಬಿದ್ದುಹೋಗದೆ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವಿಷಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಖಚಿತವಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ನನ್ನ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯ ಮೂಲವೂ, ನನ್ನ ಅಭಿಲಾಷೆಯನ್ನು ಪೂರ್ತಿಗೊಳಿಸುವವನೂ ಆತನೇ ಅಲ್ಲವೋ?

6 But all of the ungodly shall be as thorns to be thrust away, because they can't be taken with the hand,

೬ದುಷ್ಟರು ದೂರಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿಸಾಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಮುಳ್ಳುಗಳಂತಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿಯಬೇಕೆಂದಿರುವವನು ತನ್ನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಹಿಡಿಯಲಾರದೆ,

7 But the man who touches them must be armed with iron and the staff of a spear. They shall be utterly burned with fire in their place."

೭ಕಬ್ಬಿಣದ ಆಯುಧವನ್ನೂ, ಬರ್ಜಿಯ ಹಿಡಿಯನ್ನೂ ಉಪಯೋಗಿಸಬೇಕು. ಅವು ಬಿದ್ದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಬೆಂಕಿಯಿಂದ ಸುಟ್ಟುಹೋಗುವವು.”

8 These are the names of the warriors whom David had: Jeshbaal the son of Hachmoni, leader of the Three. He wielded his spear against eight hundred whom he killed at one time.

೮ದಾವೀದನೊಂದಿಗಿದ್ದ ರಣವೀರರ ಪಟ್ಟಿ: ತಹ್ಕೆಮೋನ್ಯನಾದ ಯೋಷಬ್ ಬಷ್ಬೆಬೆತನು ಸರದಾರರಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥನು. ಎಚ್ನೀಯನಾದ ಅದೀನೋ ಅನ್ನಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಇವನು ಒಂದೇ ಸಾರಿ ಎಂಟುನೂರು ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನು ಕೊಂದನು.

9 After him was Eleazar the son of Dodo, the Ahohite, one of the Three warriors. He was with David in Pas Dammim when they defied the Philistines who were gathered there for battle, and the men of Israel had retreated.

೯ಎರಡನೆಯವನು ಅಹೋಹ್ಯನಾದ ದೋದೋ ಎಂಬುವವನ ಮಗನಾಗಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾಜಾರನು. ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಕೂಡಿಕೊಂಡಾಗ ಅವರನ್ನು ನಿಂದಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ದಾವೀದನ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋದ ಮೂರು ಮಂದಿ ಶೂರರಲ್ಲಿ ಇವನೂ ಒಬ್ಬನಾಗಿದ್ದನು.

10 He arose, and struck the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand froze to the sword; and YHWH worked a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to take spoil.

೧೦ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಹೋದ ನಂತರ ಇವನು ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡು, ಕತ್ತಿ ಹಿಡಿದು, ಕೈ ಸೋತು ಹೋಗುವ ತನಕ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲುತ್ತಲೇ ಇದ್ದನು. ಆ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಮಹಾಜಯವನ್ನುಂಟುಮಾಡಲು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಸುಲಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿದರು.

11 After him was Shamma the son of Agee the Hararite. The Philistines were gathered together at Lehi, where there was a plot of ground full of lentils; and the people fled from the Philistines.

೧೧ಮೂರನೆಯವನು ಹರಾರ್ಯನಾದ ಆಗೇಯನ ಮಗ ಶಮ್ಮ ಎಂಬುವವನು. ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಗುಂಪಾಗಿ ಒಂದು ಅಲಸಂದಿಯ ಹೊಲಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದರು.

12 But he stood in the midst of the plot, and defended it, and killed the Philistines; and YHWH worked a great victory.

೧೨ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರು ಅವರ ಎದುರಿನಿಂದ ಓಡಿಹೋದಾಗ, ಇವನು ಆ ಹೊಲದ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲೇ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡು, ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರನ್ನು ಕೊಂದು, ಹೊಲವನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡಿದನು. ಹೀಗೆ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಮಹಾಜಯವನ್ನುಂಟುಮಾಡಿದನು.

13 And three of the Thirty chief men went down, and came to David in the harvest time to the cave of Adullam; and the troop of the Philistines was camped in the Valley of Rephaim.

೧೩ಮೂವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧ ಶೂರರಲ್ಲಿ ದಾವೀದನು ಅದುಲ್ಲಾಮ್ ಗವಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾಗ ಸುಗ್ಗಿಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಮೂವರು ಬಂದರು. ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ದಂಡೆತ್ತಿ ಬಂದು ರೆಫಾಯೀಮ್ ತಗ್ಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಳೆಯಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಾಗ,

14 David was then in the stronghold; and the garrison of the Philistines was then in Bethlehem.

೧೪ದಾವೀದನು ಆ ಅದುಲ್ಲಾಮ್ ದುರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದನು. ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾವಲುದಂಡನ್ನಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರು.

15 And David had a craving and said, "Oh that one would give me water to drink of the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate."

೧೫ಅದೇ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ದಾವೀದನು ಲವಲವಿಕೆಯಿಂದ “ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮ್ ಊರಿನ ಬಾಗಿಲ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಬಾವಿಯ ನೀರನ್ನು ಯಾರಾದರೂ ನನಗೆ ತಂದುಕೊಡುವುದಾದರೆ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದು” ಎಂದೂ ಕೇಳಿದನು.

16 The Three warriors broke through the army of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: but he would not drink of it, but poured it out to YHWH.

೧೬ಕೂಡಲೇ ಆ ಮೂರು ಮಂದಿ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಗಳು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ದಂಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನುಗ್ಗಿ ಹೋಗಿ, ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮಿನ ಬಾಗಿಲ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಬಾವಿಯ ನೀರನ್ನು ಸೇದಿ, ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ತಂದು ಕೊಟ್ಟರು.

17 He said, "Far be it from me, YHWH, that I should do this. Shall I drink the blood of the men who went in jeopardy of their lives?" Therefore he would not drink it. The Three warriors did these things.

೧೭ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ಅದನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಯಲೊಲ್ಲದೆ, “ಯೆಹೋವನೇ, ಈ ನೀರನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಯುವುದು ನನಗೆ ದೂರವಾಗಿರಲಿ. ಜೀವದಾಶೆ ತೊರೆದವರ ರಕ್ತವನ್ನು ನಾನು ಕುಡಿಯಬೇಕೆ? ಇದನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಯುವುದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ, ಅದನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೊಯ್ದನು. ಆ ಮೂರು ಜನರು ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದರು.

18 And Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was leader of the Thirty. And he wielded his spear against three hundred and killed them, and had a name beside the Three.

೧೮ಚೆರೂಯಳ ಮಗನೂ ಯೋವಾಬನ ತಮ್ಮನೂ ಆದ ಅಬೀಷೈಯು ಈ ಮೂರು ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥನು. ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಬರ್ಜಿಯನ್ನು ಬೀಸುತ್ತಾ ಹೋಗಿ, ಮುನ್ನೂರು ಜನರನ್ನು ಕೊಂದು ಈ ಮೂವರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೀರ್ತಿಹೊಂದಿದನು.

19 He was the most illustrious of the Thirty, and he became their leader. However he did not attain to the Three.

೧೯ಅ ಮೂವರಲ್ಲಿ ಘನತೆಯುಳ್ಳವನೂ, ನಾಯಕನೂ ಇವನೇ. ಇವನು ಮೊದಲಿನ ಮೂರು ಜನರಿಗಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧನಾಗಿದ್ದನಲ್ಲವೇ?

20 Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was a valiant man of Kabzeel, who performed great deeds. He killed the two sons of Ariel of Moab. He also went down and killed a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow.

೨೦ಯೆಹೋಯಾದಾವನ ಮಗನೂ ಕಬ್ಜಯೇಲಿನ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಯೂ ಆದ ಬೆನಾಯನು ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬನು. ಇವನು ಅನೇಕ ಶೂರಕೃತ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ದೃಷ್ಟಾಂತವೆಂದರೆ ಒಂದು ಸಾರಿ ಮೋವಾಬ್ಯನಾದ ಅರೀಯೇಲನ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಕೊಂದನು. ಇನ್ನೊಮ್ಮೆ ಹಿಮಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಸಿಂಹವು ಗುಂಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದಿರಲು ಇವನು ಆ ಗುಂಡಿಗೆ ಇಳಿದು ಹೋಗಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಕೊಂದನು.

21 He killed an Egyptian, a man of great stature. And the Egyptian had a spear in his hand; but he went down to him with a staff, and grabbed the spear out of the Egyptian's hand, and killed him with his own spear.

೨೧ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ಉನ್ನತನಾದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದನು. ಆ ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಬರ್ಜಿಯಿತ್ತು. ಇವನು ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಕೋಲನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರ ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಅವನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಬರ್ಜಿಯನ್ನು ಕಿತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ಅದರಿಂದ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದನು.

22 Benaiah the son of Jehoiada did these things, and had a name among the Three warriors.

೨೨ಈ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮದ ಕೃತ್ಯದಿಂದ ಯೆಹೋಯಾದಾವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಬೆನಾಯನು ಈ ಮೂವರಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಸರುವಾಸಿಯಾದನು.

23 He was more honored than the Thirty, but he did not attain to the Three. David set him over his guard.

೨೩ಮೂವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇವನು ವಿಶೇಷ ಕೀರ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದರೂ, ಮೊದಲಿನ ಮೂವರು ಸೈನಿಕರಿಗೆ ಸಮಾನನಾಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ದಾವೀದನು ಇವನನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಕಾವಲುದಂಡಿನ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥನನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದನು.

24 Asahel the brother of Joab was one of the Thirty; Elhanan the son of Dodo from Bethlehem,

೨೪ಮೂವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ರಣವೀರರ ಪಟ್ಟಿ - ಯೋವಾಬನ ತಮ್ಮನಾದ ಅಸಾಹೇಲನು,

25 Shammah the Harodite, Elika the Harodite,

೨೫ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮಿನ ದೋದೋವಿನ ಮಗನಾದ ಎಲ್ಹಾನಾನ್, ಹರೋದಿನವರಾದ ಶಮ್ಮ ಮತ್ತು ಎಲೀಕರು.

26 Helez the Paltite, Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite,

೨೬ಪೆಲೆಟಿನವನಾದ ಹೆಲೆಚ್, ತೆಕೋವದ ಇಕ್ಕೇಷನ ಮಗನಾದ ಈರಾ,

27 Abiezer the Anathothite, Sibbekai the Hushathite,

೨೭ಅಣತೋತಿನವನಾದ ಅಬೀಯೆಜೆರ್, ಹುಷಾ ಊರಿನವನಾದ ಮೆಬುನ್ನೈ,

28 Zalmon the Ahohite, Maharai the Netophathite,

೨೮ಅಹೋಹಿನವನಾದ ಚಲ್ಮೋನ್, ನೆಟೋಫದವನಾದ ಮಹರೈ,

29 Heled the son of Baanah the Netophathite, Ittai the son of Ribai of Gibeah of the people of Benjamin,

೨೯ನೆಟೋಫದವನಾದ ಬಾಣನ ಮಗ ಹೇಲೆಬ್, ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ್ ದೇಶದ ಗಿಬೆಯ ಊರಿನ ರೀಬೈ ಎಂಬುವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಇತ್ತೈ,

30 Benaiah a Pirathonite, Hiddai of Nahale Gaash.

೩೦ಪಿರಾತೋನ್ಯನಾದ ಬೆನಾಯ, ನಹಲೇ ಗಾಷಿನವನಾದ ಹಿದ್ದೈ.

31 Abiel son of the Arbathite, Azmaveth the Bahurimite,

೩೧ಅರಾಬಾ ತಗ್ಗಿನವನಾದ ಅಬೀ ಅಲ್ಬೋನ್, ಬರ್ಹುಮ್ಯನಾದ ಅಜ್ಮಾವೇತ್,

32 Eliahba the Shaalbinite, Jashen the Gizonite,

೩೨ಶಾಲ್ಬೋನ್ಯನಾದ ಎಲೆಯಖ್ಬಾ, ಯಾಷೇನನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು, ಯೋನಾತಾನನು,

33 Jonathan son of Shamma the Hararite, Ahiam the son of Sakar the Hararite,

೩೩ಹರಾರ್ಯನಾದ ಶಮ್ಮ, ಅರಾರ್ಯನಾದ ಶಾರಾರನ ಮಗ ಅಹೀಯಾಮ್,

34 Eliphelet the son of Ahasbai the Maacathite, Eliam the son of Ahithophel the Gilonite,

೩೪ಮಾಕಾ ಊರಿನ ಅಹಸ್ಬೈ ಎಂಬುವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಎಲೀಫೆಲೆಟ್, ಗಿಲೋವಿನ ಅಹೀತೋಫೆಲ ಎಂಬುವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಎಲೀಯಾಮ್,

35 Hezrai the Carmelite, Paarai the Archite,

೩೫ಕರ್ಮೆಲ್ಯನಾದ ಹೆಚ್ರೋ, ಅರ್ಬೀಯನಾದ ಪಾರೈ,

36 Igal the son of Nathan, from the army of the Hagrites,

೩೬ಚೋಬ ಊರಿನ ನಾತಾನ ಎಂಬುವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಇಗಾಲ್, ಗಾದ್ಯನಾದ ಬಾನೀ,

37 Zelek the Ammonite, Naharai the Beerothite, armor bearer to Joab the son of Zeruiah,

೩೭ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯನಾದ ಚೆಲೆಕ್, ಬೇರೋತ್ಯನೂ ಚೆರೂಯಳ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋವಾಬನ ಆಯುಧವಾಹಕನೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದ ನಹರೈ

38 Ira the Jattirite, Gareb the Jattirite,

೩೮ಇತ್ರೀಯರಾದ ಈರಾ ಮತ್ತು ಗಾರೇಬರು,

39 Uriah the Hethite: thirty-seven in all.

೩೯ಹಿತ್ತಿಯನಾದ ಊರೀಯ, ಒಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಮೂವತ್ತೇಳು ಮಂದಿ.
