2 Chronicles 7
1 Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of YHWH filled the house.
Cuando Salomón terminó de orar, bajó fuego del cielo y consumió el holocausto y los sacrificios, y la gloria de Yahvé llenó la casa.
2 The priests could not enter into the house of YHWH, because the glory of YHWH filled YHWH's house.
Los sacerdotes no podían entrar en la casa de Yahvé, porque la gloria de Yahvé llenaba la casa de Yahvé.
3 All the children of Israel looked on, when the fire came down, and the glory of YHWH was on the house; and they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground on the pavement, and worshiped, and gave thanks to YHWH, saying, "For he is good; for his loving kindness endures for ever."
Todos los hijos de Israel miraban, cuando el fuego descendía y la gloria de Yahvé estaba sobre la casa. Se inclinaron con el rostro hacia el suelo sobre el pavimento, adoraron y dieron gracias a Yahvé, diciendo “Porque él es bueno, porque su bondad es eterna”.
4 Then the king and all the people offered sacrifice before YHWH.
Entonces el rey y todo el pueblo ofrecieron sacrificios ante el Señor.
5 King Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty-two thousand head of cattle, and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the people dedicated God's house.
El rey Salomón ofreció un sacrificio de veintidós mil cabezas de ganado y ciento veinte mil ovejas. Así el rey y todo el pueblo dedicaron la casa de Dios.
6 The priests stood, according to their positions; the Levites also with instruments of music of YHWH, which David the king had made to give thanks to YHWH, when David praised by their ministry, saying "For his loving kindness endures for ever." The priests sounded trumpets before them; and all Israel stood.
Los sacerdotes estaban de pie, según sus cargos; los levitas también con instrumentos de música de Yahvé, que el rey David había hecho para dar gracias a Yahvé, cuando David alababa por su ministerio, diciendo: “Porque su bondad es eterna.” Los sacerdotes tocaron las trompetas delante de ellos, y todo Israel se puso en pie.
7 Moreover Solomon made the middle of the court holy that was before the house of YHWH; for there he offered the burnt offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings, because the bronze altar which Solomon had made was not able to receive the burnt offering, and the meal offering, and the fat.
Además, Salomón santificó el centro del atrio que estaba delante de la casa de Yahvé, porque allí ofrecía los holocaustos y la grasa de los sacrificios de paz, porque el altar de bronce que Salomón había hecho no podía recibir el holocausto, el presente y la grasa.
8 So Solomon held the feast at that time seven days, and all Israel with him, a very great assembly, from Lebo Hamath to the Wadi of Egypt.
Salomón celebró entonces la fiesta durante siete días, y todo Israel con él, una asamblea muy grande, desde la entrada de Hamat hasta el arroyo de Egipto.
9 On the eighth day they held a solemn assembly: for they kept the dedication of the altar seven days, and the feast seven days.
El octavo día celebraron una asamblea solemne, pues celebraron la dedicación del altar durante siete días, y la fiesta durante siete días.
10 On the three and twentieth day of the seventh month he sent the people away to their tents, joyful and glad of heart for the goodness that YHWH had shown to David, and to Solomon, and to Israel his people.
El día veintitrés del mes séptimo, despidió al pueblo para que se fuera a sus tiendas, alegres y contentos de corazón por la bondad que Yahvé había mostrado a David, a Salomón y a su pueblo Israel.
11 Thus Solomon finished the house of YHWH, and the king's house: and he successfully completed all that came into Solomon's heart to make in the house of YHWH, and in his own house.
Así terminó Salomón la casa de Yahvé y la casa del rey, y completó con éxito todo lo que le vino al corazón de Salomón para hacer en la casa de Yahvé y en su propia casa.
12 YHWH appeared to Solomon by night, and said to him, "I have heard your prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for a house of sacrifice.
Entonces Yahvé se le apareció a Salomón de noche y le dijo: “He escuchado tu oración y he elegido este lugar para mí como casa de sacrificio.
13 If I shut up the sky so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send a plague among my people;
“Si cierro el cielo para que no llueva, o si ordeno a la langosta que devore la tierra, o si envío la peste entre mi pueblo,
14 then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
si mi pueblo, llamado por mi nombre, se humilla, ora, busca mi rostro y se convierte de sus malos caminos, entonces yo escucharé desde el cielo, perdonaré su pecado y sanaré su tierra.
15 Now my eyes shall be open, and my ears attentive, to the prayer that is made in this place.
Ahora mis ojos estarán abiertos y mis oídos atentos a la oración que se haga en este lugar.
16 For now have I chosen and made this house holy, that my name may be there forever; and my eyes and my heart shall be there perpetually.
Porque ahora he elegido y santificado esta casa, para que mi nombre esté allí para siempre; y mis ojos y mi corazón estarán allí perpetuamente.
17 As for you, if you will walk before me as David your father walked, and do according to all that I have commanded you, and will keep my statutes and my ordinances;
“En cuanto a ti, si andas delante de mí como anduvo David, tu padre, y haces todo lo que te he mandado, y guardas mis estatutos y mis ordenanzas,
18 then I will establish the throne of your kingdom, according as I covenanted with David your father, saying, 'There shall not fail you a man to be ruler in Israel.'
entonces estableceré el trono de tu reino, según el pacto que hice con David, tu padre, diciendo: ‘No te faltará un hombre que sea gobernante en Israel’.
19 But if you turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them;
Pero si se apartan y abandonan mis estatutos y mis mandamientos que he puesto delante de ustedes, y van a servir a otros dioses y los adoran,
20 then I will pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have made holy for my name, I will cast out of my sight, and I will make it a proverb and a byword among all peoples.
entonces los arrancaré de raíz de mi tierra que les he dado; y esta casa, que he santificado para mi nombre, la echaré de mi vista, y la convertiré en proverbio y en palabra de guerra entre todos los pueblos.
21 And this house, which is exalted, will become a heap of ruins. Everyone who passes by it will be astonished, and will say, 'Why has YHWH done this to this land, and to this house?'
Esta casa, que es tan alta, todo el que pase por ella se asombrará y dirá: “¿Por qué ha hecho esto Yahvé a esta tierra y a esta casa?”
22 And they shall answer, 'Because they abandoned YHWH, the God of their fathers, who brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and took other gods, worshiped them, and served them. Therefore he has brought all these disasters on them.'"
Responderán: “Porque abandonaron a Yahvé, el Dios de sus padres, que los sacó de la tierra de Egipto, y tomaron otros dioses, los adoraron y los sirvieron. Por eso ha traído sobre ellos todo este mal’”.
