2 Chronicles 26
1 All the people of Judah took Uzziah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king in the place of his father Amaziah.
Todo el pueblo de Judá tomó a Uzías, que tenía dieciséis años, y lo nombró rey en lugar de su padre Amasías.
2 He built Eilat, and restored it to Judah, after that the king slept with his fathers.
Él edificó Elot y la restauró para Judá. Después el rey durmió con sus padres.
3 Sixteen years old was Uzziah when he began to reign; and he reigned fifty-two years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Jecoliah, of Jerusalem.
Uzías tenía dieciséis años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó cincuenta y dos años en Jerusalén. Su madre se llamaba Jecilia, de Jerusalén.
4 He did that which was right in the eyes of YHWH, according to all that his father Amaziah had done.
Hizo lo que era justo a los ojos de Yahvé, conforme a todo lo que había hecho su padre Amasías.
5 He set himself to seek God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the fear of God, and as long as he sought YHWH, God made him to prosper.
Se puso a buscar a Dios en los días de Zacarías, quien tenía entendimiento en la visión de Dios; y mientras buscó a Yahvé, Dios lo hizo prosperar.
6 He went forth and warred against the Philistines, and broke down the wall of Gath, and the wall of Jabneh, and the wall of Ashdod; and he built cities in the country of Ashdod, and among the Philistines.
Salió y luchó contra los filisteos, y derribó el muro de Gat, el muro de Jabne y el muro de Asdod; y edificó ciudades en el país de Asdod y entre los filisteos.
7 God helped him against the Philistines, and against the Arabians who lived in Gur Baal, and the Meunites.
Dios lo ayudó contra los filisteos y contra los árabes que vivían en Gur Baal y los meunitas.
8 The Meunites gave tribute to Uzziah, and his name spread abroad even to the entrance of Egypt; for he grew exceeding strong.
Los amonitas dieron tributo a Uzías. Su nombre se extendió hasta la entrada de Egipto, pues se hizo muy fuerte.
9 Moreover Uzziah built towers in Jerusalem at the Corner Gate, and at the Valley Gate, and at the turning of the wall, and fortified them.
Además, Uzías construyó torres en Jerusalén, en la puerta de la esquina, en la puerta del valle y en la curva de la muralla, y las fortificó.
10 He built towers in the wilderness, and dug out many cisterns, for he had many cattle; in the Shephelah and in the plain he had farmers, and vinedressers in the hills and in the fertile fields, for he loved the land.
Construyó torres en el desierto y cavó muchas cisternas, porque tenía mucho ganado, tanto en las tierras bajas como en las llanuras. Tuvo labradores y viñadores en las montañas y en los campos fructíferos, pues amaba la agricultura.
11 Moreover Uzziah had an army of fighting men, who went out to war by bands, according to the number of their reckoning made by Jeiel the scribe and Maaseiah the officer, under the hand of Hananiah, one of the king's captains.
Además, Uzías tenía un ejército de combatientes que salían a la guerra por bandas, según el número de su cuenta hecho por el escriba Jeiel y el oficial Maasías, bajo la mano de Hananías, uno de los capitanes del rey.
12 The whole number of the heads of ancestral houses, even the mighty men of valor, was two thousand and six hundred.
El número total de los jefes de familia, de los hombres valientes, era de dos mil seiscientos.
13 Under their hand was an army, three hundred thousand and seven thousand and five hundred, who made war with mighty power, to help the king against the enemy.
Bajo su mano había un ejército de trescientos siete mil quinientos, que hacían la guerra con gran poder, para ayudar al rey contra el enemigo.
14 Uzziah prepared for them, even for all the army, shields, and spears, and helmets, and coats of mail, and bows, and stones for slinging.
Uzías preparó para ellos, para todo el ejército, escudos, lanzas, cascos, cotas de malla, arcos y piedras para la honda.
15 He made in Jerusalem engines, invented by skillful men, to be on the towers and on the battlements, with which to shoot arrows and great stones. His name spread far abroad; for he was marvelously helped, until he was strong.
En Jerusalén hizo dispositivos, inventados por hombres hábiles, para que estuvieran en las torres y en las almenas, con los que se pudieran lanzar flechas y grandes piedras. Su nombre se extendió por todo el mundo, porque fue ayudado maravillosamente hasta que se hizo fuerte.
16 But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up, so that he did corruptly, and he trespassed against YHWH his God; for he went into YHWH's temple to burn incense on the altar of incense.
Pero cuando se fortaleció, su corazón se enalteció, de modo que actuó de manera corrupta y cometió una infracción contra Yahvé, su Dios, pues entró en el templo de Yahvé para quemar incienso en el altar del incienso.
17 Azariah the priest went in after him, and with him eighty priests of YHWH, who were valiant men:
El sacerdote Azarías entró tras él, y con él ochenta sacerdotes de Yahvé, que eran hombres valientes.
18 and they resisted Uzziah the king, and said to him, "It isn't for you, Uzziah, to burn incense to YHWH, but for the priests the descendants of Aaron, who are consecrated to burn incense. Go out of the sanctuary; for you have trespassed; neither shall it be for your honor from YHWH God."
Ellos se resistieron al rey Uzías y le dijeron: “No te corresponde a ti, Uzías, quemar incienso a Yahvé, sino a los sacerdotes hijos de Aarón, que están consagrados a quemar incienso. Sal del santuario, porque has cometido una infracción. No será para tu honor de parte de Yahvé Dios”.
19 Then Uzziah was angry; and he had a censer in his hand to burn incense; and while he was angry with the priests, the leprosy broke forth in his forehead before the priests in the house of YHWH, beside the altar of incense.
Entonces Uzías se enojó. Tenía un incensario en la mano para quemar incienso, y mientras estaba enojado con los sacerdotes, le brotó la lepra en la frente ante los sacerdotes en la casa de Yahvé, junto al altar del incienso.
20 Azariah the chief priest, and all the priests, looked on him, and look, he was leprous in his forehead, and they thrust him out quickly from there; yes, himself hurried also to go out, because YHWH had struck him.
El sumo sacerdote Azarías y todos los sacerdotes lo miraron, y he aquí que tenía lepra en la frente; y lo echaron rápidamente de allí. De hecho, él mismo se apresuró a salir, porque el Señor lo había golpeado.
21 Uzziah the king was a leper to the day of his death, and lived in a separate house, being a leper; for he was cut off from the house of YHWH: and Jotham his son was over the king's house, judging the people of the land.
El rey Uzías fue leproso hasta el día de su muerte, y vivía en una casa separada, siendo leproso, pues fue cortado de la casa de Yahvé. Su hijo Jotam estaba al frente de la casa real, juzgando al pueblo del país.
22 Now the rest of the acts of Uzziah, first and last, Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, wrote.
El resto de los hechos de Uzías, los primeros y los últimos, los escribió el profeta Isaías, hijo de Amoz.
23 So Uzziah slept with his fathers; and they buried him with his fathers in the field of burial which belonged to the kings; for they said, "He is a leper." Jotham his son reigned in his place.
Así que Uzías durmió con sus padres; y lo enterraron con sus padres en el campo de enterramiento que pertenecía a los reyes, porque decían: “Es un leproso”. Su hijo Jotam reinó en su lugar.
