< 2 Chronicles 20 >
1 It happened after this, that the people of Moab, and the people of Ammon, and with them some of the Meunites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle.
Zitatha izi, Amowabu ndi Aamoni pamodzi ndi Ameuni ena anabwera kudzachita nkhondo ndi Yehosafati.
2 Then some came who told Jehoshaphat, saying, "A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea from Edom. Look, they are in Hazazon Tamar" (that is, En Gedi).
Anthu ena anabwera kudzamuwuza Yehosafati kuti, “Gulu lalikulu kwambiri lankhondo likubwera kudzachita nanu nkhondo lochokera ku Edomu, ku mbali ina ya Nyanja. Gululi lafika kale ku Hazazoni Tamara” (ndiye kuti Eni-Gedi).
3 Jehoshaphat was alarmed, and set himself to seek to YHWH. He proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.
Ndi mantha, Yehosafati anaganiza zofunsira kwa Yehova, ndipo analengeza kuti Ayuda onse asale zakudya.
4 Judah gathered themselves together, to seek help from YHWH. They came out of all the cities of Judah to seek YHWH.
Anthu a ku Yuda anabwera pamodzi kudzafuna thandizo kwa Yehova, ndipo anabweradi kuchokera ku mzinda uliwonse wa mu Yuda kudzafunafuna Yehova.
5 Jehoshaphat stood in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of YHWH, before the new court;
Yehosafati anayimirira pakati pa msonkhano wa Yuda ndi Yerusalemu, pa Nyumba ya Yehova patsogolo pa bwalo latsopano
6 and he said, "YHWH, the God of our fathers, aren't you God in heaven? Aren't you ruler over all the kingdoms of the nations? Power and might are in your hand, so that no one is able to withstand you.
ndipo anati: “Inu Yehova, Mulungu wa makolo athu, kodi Inu sindinu Mulungu amene muli kumwamba? Inu mumalamulira maufumu onse a mitundu ya anthu. Mphamvu ndi nyonga zili mʼmanja mwanu, ndipo palibe amene angalimbane nanu.
7 Did you not, our God, drive out the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel, and give it forever to the descendants of Abraham your friend?
Inu Mulungu wathu, kodi simunathamangitse nzika za dziko lino pamaso pa anthu anu Aisraeli ndipo munalipereka kwa zidzukulu za Abrahamu bwenzi lanu kwamuyaya?
8 They lived in it, and have built you a sanctuary in it for your name, saying,
Iwo akhala mʼdzikolo ndipo anamangira Dzina lanu malo opatulika, nʼkumati,
9 'If evil comes on us—the sword, judgment, pestilence, or famine—we will stand before this house, and before you, (for your name is in this house), and cry to you in our affliction, and you will hear and save.'
‘Ngati tsoka litigwera kaya ndi lupanga lachiweruzo, kapena mliri, kapenanso njala, ife tidzayima pamaso panu patsogolo pa Nyumba ya Mulungu ino imene imatchedwa ndi Dzina lanu ndipo tidzalirira kwa inu mʼmasautso athu, ndipo Inu mudzatimvera ndi kutipulumutsa.’
10 Now, look, the people of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir, whom you would not let Israel invade, when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned aside from them, and did not destroy them;
“Koma tsopano pano pali anthu ochokera ku Amoni, Mowabu ndi Phiri la Seiri amene dziko lawo Inu simunawalole Aisraeli kuti alithire nkhondo pamene amabwera kuchokera ku Igupto. Kotero anatembenuka ndi kuwaleka ndipo sanawawononge.
11 look, how they reward us, to come to cast us out of your possession, which you have given us to inherit.
Taonani, mmene akutibwezera ife pobwera kudzatithamangitsa mʼdziko limene inu munatipatsa ngati cholowa chathu.
12 Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no might against this great company that comes against us; neither know we what to do, but our eyes are on you."
Inu Mulungu wathu, kodi simuwaweruza? Pakuti ife tilibe mphamvu zolimbana ndi gulu lalikulu lankhondo limene likutithira nkhondoli. Ife sitikudziwa choti tichite, koma maso athu ali pa Inu.”
13 All Judah stood before YHWH, with their little ones, their wives, and their children.
Anthu onse a Yuda, pamodzi ndi akazi awo ndi ana ndi makanda, anayima chilili pamaso pa Yehova.
14 Then the Spirit of YHWH came on Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, the Levite, of the sons of Asaph, in the midst of the assembly;
15 and he said, "Listen, all Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you king Jehoshaphat. Thus says YHWH to you, 'Do not be afraid, neither be dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's.
Iye anati, “Tamverani mfumu Yehosafati ndi onse amene amakhala mu Yuda ndi Yerusalemu! Zimene Yehova akunena kwa inu ndi izi: ‘Musaope kapena kutaya mtima chifukwa cha gulu lalikulu lankhondo ili. Pakuti nkhondoyi si yanu, koma ya Mulungu.
16 Tomorrow go down against them. Look, they are coming up by the ascent of Ziz. You shall find them at the end of the valley, before the wilderness of Jeruel.
Mawa mupite mukamenyane nawo. Adzakhala akubwera mokweza kudzera Njira ya Zizi, ndipo mukawapeza kumapeto kwa chigwa cha ku chipululu cha Yeruweli.
17 You will not need to fight this battle. Set yourselves, stand still, and see the salvation of YHWH with you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid, nor be dismayed. Go out against them tomorrow, for YHWH is with you.'"
Sikudzafunika kuti Inu mumenyane nawo pa nkhondo imeneyi. Inu mukhale pa malo anu; imani molimba ndipo onani chipulumutso chimene Yehova adzakupatsani, Inu Yuda ndi Yerusalemu. Musaope, musataye mtima. Pitani kuti mukakumane nawo mawa, ndipo Yehova adzakhala nanu.’”
18 Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground; and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell down before YHWH, worshipping YHWH.
Yehosafati anaweramitsa nkhope yake ndi kugunda pansi, ndiponso anthu onse a Yuda ndi Yerusalemu anagwa pansi ndi kulambira Yehova.
19 The Levites, of the descendants of the Kohathites and of the descendants of the Korahites, stood up to praise YHWH, the God of Israel, with an exceeding loud voice.
Kenaka Alevi ena ochokera ku mabanja a Kohati ndi Kora anayimirira ndipo anatamanda Yehova Mulungu wa Israeli ndi mawu ofuwula kwambiri.
20 They rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, "Listen to me, Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem. Believe in YHWH your God, so you will be established. Believe his prophets, and you will prosper."
Mmamawa, ananyamuka kupita ku chipululu cha Tekowa. Akunyamuka, Yehosafati anayimirira ndipo anati, “Tandimverani ine anthu a Yuda ndi Yerusalemu! Khalani ndi chikhulupiriro mwa Yehova Mulungu wanu ndipo mudzatchinjirizidwa, khalani ndi chikhulupiriro mwa aneneri ake ndipo mudzapambana.”
21 When he had taken counsel with the people, he appointed those who should sing to YHWH, and give praise in holy array, as they went out before the army, and say, Give thanks to YHWH; for his loving kindness endures forever.
Atafunsira kwa anthu, Yehosafati anasankha anthu oti ayimbire Yehova ndi kumutamanda chifukwa cha ulemerero wa chiyero chake pamene amapita ali patsogolo pa gulu la ankhondo, akunena kuti: “Yamikani Yehova pakuti chikondi chake ndi chosatha.”
22 When they began to sing and to praise, YHWH set ambushers against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were struck.
Atangoyamba kuyimba ndi kutamanda, Yehova anapereka mʼmanja mwawo anthu a ku Amoni ndi a ku Mowabu ndiponso a ku Phiri la Seiri amene amalimbana ndi Yuda, ndipo anagonjetsedwa.
23 For the people of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir, utterly to kill and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, everyone helped to destroy another.
Anthu a ku Amoni ndi a ku Mowabu anawukira anthu ochokera ku Phiri la Seiri, ndipo anawawononga ndi kuwatheratu. Atatsiriza kuwapha anthu ochokera ku Seiri anamenyana wina ndi mnzake mpaka kuwonongana.
24 When Judah came to the place overlooking the wilderness, they looked at the multitude; and look, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and there were none who escaped.
Anthu a ku Yuda atafika pa malo oyangʼanana ndi chipululu ndi kuona kumene kunali gulu lalikulu lankhondo, iwo anangoona mitembo yokhayokha itagona pansi ndipo palibe amene anathawa.
25 When Jehoshaphat and his people came to take their spoil, they found among them in abundance both riches and dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away: and they were three days in taking the spoil, it was so much.
Choncho Yehosafati ndi anthu ake anapita kukafunkha, ndipo pakati pawo anapeza katundu wambiri ndi zovala ndiponso zinthu zina zamtengowapatali kuposa zomwe akanatha kunyamula. Kunali katundu wambiri kotero kuti zinawatengera masiku atatu kuti amutenge.
26 On the fourth day they assembled themselves in the Valley of Berachah; for there they blessed YHWH: therefore the name of that place was called The Valley of Berachah to this day.
Tsiku lachinayi anasonkhana ku chigwa cha Beraka kumene anatamanda Yehova. Nʼchifukwa chake malowa amatchedwa chigwa cha Beraka mpaka lero.
27 Then they returned, every man of Judah and Jerusalem, and Jehoshaphat in their forefront, to go again to Jerusalem with joy; for YHWH had made them to rejoice over their enemies.
Tsono motsogozedwa ndi Yehosafati, anthu onse a Yuda ndi Yerusalemu anabwerera ku Yerusalemu mokondwera pakuti Yehova anawagonjetsera adani awo.
28 They came to Jerusalem with stringed instruments and harps and trumpets to the house of YHWH.
Iwo analowa mu Yerusalemu ndipo anapita ku Nyumba ya Mulungu akuyimba azeze, apangwe ndi malipenga.
29 The fear of God was on all the kingdoms of the countries, when they heard that YHWH fought against the enemies of Israel.
Kuopsa kwa Mulungu kunali pa maufumu onse a mayiko amene anamva mmene Yehova anamenyera adani a Aisraeli.
30 So the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet; for his God gave him rest all around.
Ndipo ufumu wa Yehosafati unali pa mtendere pakuti Mulungu wake anamupatsa mpumulo ku mbali zonse.
31 Jehoshaphat reigned over Judah: he was thirty-five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty-five years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi.
Choncho Yehosafati analamulira Yuda. Iye anali wa zaka 35 pamene anakhala mfumu ya Yuda ndipo analamulira mu Yerusalemu kwa zaka 25. Dzina la amayi ake linali Azuba mwana wa Sili.
32 He walked in the way of Asa his father, and did not turn aside from it, doing that which was right in the eyes of YHWH.
Iye ankayenda mʼnjira za Asa abambo ake ndipo sanapatuke pa zimenezi pakuti anachita zolungama pamaso pa Yehova.
33 However the high places were not taken away; neither as yet had the people set their hearts to the God of their fathers.
Komabe malo opembedzerapo mafano sanachotsedwe ndipo anthu sanaperekebe mitima yawo kwa Mulungu wa makolo awo.
34 Now the rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat, first and last, look, they are written in the history of Jehu the son of Hanani, which is inserted in the book of the kings of Israel.
35 After this Jehoshaphat king of Judah joined himself with Ahaziah king of Israel. The same did very wickedly:
Zitapita izi, Yehosafati mfumu ya Yuda inachita mgwirizano ndi Ahaziya mfumu ya Israeli, amene anachita zoyipa kwambiri.
36 and he joined himself with him to make ships to go to Tarshish; and they made the ships in Ezion Geber.
Iye anagwirizana ndi Ahaziya kuti apange sitima zapamadzi zochitira malonda. Atazipanga zimenezi ku Ezioni-Geberi,
37 Then Eliezer the son of Dodavahu of Mareshah prophesied against Jehoshaphat, saying, "Because you have joined yourself with Ahaziah, YHWH has destroyed your works." The ships were broken, so that they were not able to go to Tarshish.
Eliezara mwana wa Dodavahu wa ku Maresa ananenera motsutsana ndi Yehosafati ndipo anati, “Chifukwa chakuti wachita mgwirizano ndi Ahaziya, Yehova adzawononga zimene mwapangazo!” Sitima za pamadzizo zinawonongeka ndipo sizinapite nʼkomwe kumene zimakachita malonda.
