2 After certain years he went down to Ahab to Samaria. Ahab killed sheep and cattle for him in abundance, and for the people who were with him, and moved him to go up with him to Ramoth Gilead.
Bwe waayitawo emyaka, n’aserengeta okugenda okulaba ku Akabu e Samaliya. Akabu n’amuteekerateekera ekijjulo eky’amaanyi n’amuttira endiga nnyingi n’ente nnyingi, ye n’abantu be yagenda nabo, era n’amusendasenda okulumba Lamosugireyaadi.
3 Ahab king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, "Will you go with me to Ramoth Gilead?" He answered him, "I am as you are, and my people as your people. We will be with you in the war."
Akabu kabaka wa Isirayiri n’abuuza Yekosafaati kabaka wa Yuda nti, “Onoogenda nange okulumba Lamosugireyaadi?” Yekosafaati n’addamu nti, “Ky’oli kye ndi, era n’abantu bo be bantu bange, tujja kukwegattako mu lutalo.”
4 Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, "Please inquire first for the word of YHWH."
Naye Yekosafaati n’alabula kabaka wa Isirayiri nti, “Sooka weebuuze ku Mukama.”
5 Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, four hundred men, and said to them, "Shall we go to Ramoth Gilead to battle, or shall I refrain?" They said, "Go up; for God will deliver it into the hand of the king."
Awo kabaka wa Isirayiri n’akuŋŋaanya bannabbi bonna awamu; baali abasajja ebikumi bina, n’ababuuza nti, “Tugende tulumbe Lamosugireyaadi nantiki tulekeyo?” Ne bamuddamu nti, “Tugende, kubanga Mukama anaakigabula mu mukono gwa kabaka.”
6 But Jehoshaphat said, "Isn't there here a prophet of YHWH besides, that we may inquire of him?"
Naye Yekosafaati n’abuuza nti, “Tewaliwo wano nnabbi wa Mukama gwe tuyinza okwebuuzaako?”
7 The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, "There is yet one man by whom we may inquire of YHWH; but I hate him, for he never prophesies good concerning me, but always evil. He is Micaiah the son of Imla." Jehoshaphat said, "Do not let the king say so."
Awo kabaka wa Isirayiri n’addamu Yekosafaati nti, “Waliyo omusajja omulala gwe tuyinza okwebuuzaako ku Mukama, ye Mikaaya mutabani wa Imula, naye namukyawa kubanga tandagulako birungi, wabula ebibi ebyereere.” Yekosafaati n’ayogera nti, “Kabaka teyandiyogedde bw’atyo.”
8 Then the king of Israel called an officer, and said, "Get Micaiah the son of Imla quickly."
Kabaka wa Isirayiri n’alyoka alagira omu ku bakungu be nti, “Kima Mikaaya mutabani wa Imula ku bwangu.”
9 Now the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah sat each on his throne, arrayed in their robes, and they were sitting in an open place at the entrance of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets were prophesying before them.
Awo kabaka wa Isirayiri ne Yekosafaati kabaka wa Yuda ne batuula ku ntebe zaabwe ez’obwakabaka mu gguuliro ku mulyango gwa wankaaki w’e Samaliya, nga bambadde ebyambalo byabwe, nga ne bannabbi bonna balagulira mu maaso gaabwe.
10 Zedekiah the son of Kenaanah made him horns of iron, and said, "Thus says YHWH, 'With these you shall push the Arameans, until they are consumed.'"
Zeddekiya mutabani wa Kenaana yali yeeweesereza amayembe ag’ekyuma, n’ayogera nti, “Bw’ati bw’ayogera Mukama nti, ‘Abasuuli balitomerwa na gano okutuusa lwe balimalibwawo.’”
11 All the prophets prophesied so, saying, "Go up to Ramoth Gilead, and prosper; for YHWH will deliver it into the hand of the king."
Era ne bannabbi abalala bonna baalagulanga kye kimu nti, “Yambuka olumbe Lamosugireyaadi onoowangula kubanga Mukama anaakiwaayo mu mukono gwa kabaka.”
12 The messenger who went to call Micaiah spoke to him, saying, "Look, the words of the prophets declare good to the king with one mouth. Let your word therefore, please be like one of theirs, and speak good."
Awo omubaka eyali agenze okuyita Mikaaya, n’amugamba nti, “Laba, ebigambo ebya bannabbi bali abalala byogera kyekimu, kale naawe ba bumu nabo.”
13 Micaiah said, "As YHWH lives, whatever my God says to me, that I will speak."
Naye Mikaaya n’ayogera nti, “Nga Mukama bw’ali omulamu Katonda ky’anaŋŋamba ekyo kye nnaayogera.”
14 When he had come to the king, the king said to him, "Micaiah, shall we go to Ramoth Gilead to battle, or shall I refrain?" He said, "Go up, and prosper. They shall be delivered into your hand."
Awo bwe yatuuka ewa kabaka, kabaka n’amubuuza nti, “Mikaaya tulumbe Lamosugireyaadi, oba tulekeyo?” N’amuddamu nti, “Mugende mukirumbe, munaakiwangula, kubanga banaaweebwayo mu mukono gwo.”
15 The king said to him, "How many times shall I adjure you that you speak to me nothing but the truth in the name of YHWH?"
Naye kabaka n’amugamba nti, “Nnaakulayizanga emirundi emeka, obutannimbanga wabula okuntegeezanga amazima mu linnya lya Mukama?”
16 He said, "I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd. YHWH said, 'These have no master. Let them return every man to his house in peace.'"
Awo Mikaaya n’addamu nti, “Nalaba Isirayiri yenna, nga basaasaanye ku nsozi ng’endiga ezitalina musumba, Mukama n’ayogera nti, ‘Abantu bano tebalina abakulembera, buli omu addeyo ewaabwe mirembe.’”
17 The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, "Did I not tell you that he would not prophesy good concerning me, but evil?"
Kabaka wa Isirayiri n’agamba Yekosafaati nti, “Sakugambye nti talina kirungi ky’andagulako, okuggyako ebibi?”
18 Micaiah said, "Therefore hear the word of YHWH: I saw YHWH sitting on his throne, and all the army of heaven standing on his right hand and on his left.
Mikaaya n’ayongerako na bino nti, “Noolwekyo muwulire ekigambo kya Mukama: Nalaba Mukama ng’atudde ku ntebe ye ey’obwakabaka n’eggye lyonna ery’omu ggulu nga liyimiridde okumwetooloola ku mukono gwe ogwa kkono.
19 YHWH said, 'Who shall entice Ahab king of Israel, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth Gilead?' One spoke saying in this way, and another saying in that way.
Awo Mukama n’abuuza nti, ‘Ani anasendasenda Akabu kabaka wa Isirayiri okulumba Lamosugireyaadi n’oluvannyuma afiire eyo?’ “Omu ku bo n’ateesa kino, n’omulala kiri.
20 A spirit came out, stood before YHWH, and said, 'I will entice him.' "YHWH said to him, 'How?'
Ku nkomerero, omwoyo ogumu ne gusembera, ne guyimirira mu maaso ga Mukama ne gwogera nti, ‘Nze nzija kumusendasenda.’ “Mukama n’agubuuza nti, ‘Ekyo onookikola otya?’
21 "He said, 'I will go forth, and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.' "He said, 'You will entice him, and will prevail also. Go forth, and do so.'
“Ne guddamu nti, ‘Nzija kugenda, mbeere omwoyo omulimba mu kamwa ka buli nnabbi we.’ “Mukama n’agugamba nti, ‘Ggwe onoosobola okumusendasenda, era genda okole bw’otyo.’
22 "Now therefore, look, YHWH has put a lying spirit in the mouth of these your prophets; and YHWH has pronounced disaster concerning you."
“Kale nno Mukama atadde omwoyo ogw’obulimba mu kamwa ka bannabbi bo, era Mukama akwogeddeko kabi keereere.”
23 Then Zedekiah the son of Kenaanah came near, and struck Micaiah on the cheek, and said, "Which way did the Spirit of YHWH go from me to speak to you?"
Awo Zeddekiya mutabani wa Kenaana n’asembera okumpi ne Mikaaya we yali n’amukuba oluyi mu maaso, n’amubuuza nti, “Omwoyo wa Mukama yampiseeko wa okwogera naawe?”
24 Micaiah said, "Look, you shall see on that day, when you shall go into an inner room to hide yourself."
Mikaaya n’amuddamu nti, “Laba, ekyo olikimanya ku lunaku lw’oligenda okwekweka mu kisenge eky’omunda.”
25 The king of Israel said, "Take Micaiah, and carry him back to Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king's son;
Awo kabaka wa Isirayiri n’alagira nti, “Mukwate Mikaaya mumuzzeeyo ewa Amoni ew’omukulu w’ekibuga n’ewa Yowaasi omulangira,
26 and say, 'Thus says the king, "Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I return in peace."'"
mwogere nti, ‘Bw’ati bw’ayogera kabaka nti, Omuntu ono mumuteeke mu kkomera, temumuwa kintu kyonna wabula omugaati omutono n’amazzi amatono, okutuusa lwe ndikomawo mirembe.’”
27 Micaiah said, "If you return at all in peace, YHWH has not spoken by me." He said, "Listen, you peoples, all of you."
Awo Mikaaya n’alangirira nti, “Bw’olikomawo mirembe, Mukama nga tayogeredde mu nze,” ate n’ayongerako na kino nti, “Mmwe mwenna, mwekuume ebigambo byange.”
28 So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramoth Gilead.
Awo kabaka wa Isirayiri ne Yekosafaati kabaka wa Yuda ne bambuka e Lamosugireyaadi.
29 The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, "I will disguise myself, and go into the battle; but you put on your robes." So the king of Israel disguised himself; and they went into the battle.
Kabaka wa Isirayiri n’agamba Yekosafaati nti, “Nze nzija kugenda mu lutalo nga nneefudde ng’omuntu omulala, naye ggwe yambala ebyambalo byo.” Awo kabaka wa Isirayiri ne yeefuula ng’omuntu omulala, ne bagenda mu lutalo.
30 Now the king of Aram had commanded the captains of his chariots, saying, "Fight neither with small nor great, except only with the king of Israel."
Naye kabaka w’e Busuuli yali alagidde abaduumizi ab’amagaali ge nti, “Temulwanagananga na muntu yenna, oba wa kitiibwa oba si wa kitiibwa, okuggyako kabaka wa Isirayiri.”
31 It happened, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, "It is the king of Israel." Therefore they turned around to fight against him. But Jehoshaphat cried out, and YHWH helped him; and God moved them to depart from him.
Awo abaduumizi ab’amagaali bwe balaba Yekosafaati, ne boogera nti, “Oyo ye kabaka wa Isirayiri.” Ne bakyuka ne bamulumba, naye Yekosafaati n’ayogera mu ddoboozi ery’omwanguka, Mukama n’amubeera, era Katonda n’abaziyiza, n’okubaggyawo n’abaggyawo.
32 It happened, when the captains of the chariots saw that it was not the king of Israel, that they turned back from pursuing him.
Abaduumizi ab’amagaali bwe baakizuula nti si ye kabaka wa Isirayiri, ne balekeraawo okumugoba.
33 A certain man drew his bow at random, and struck the king of Israel between the joints of the armor. Therefore he said to the driver of the chariot, "Turn your hand, and carry me out of the army; for I am severely wounded."
Naye omu ku basajja n’amala ganaanuula omutego gwe, n’alasa kabaka wa Isirayiri mu kifo ekimu ebyambalo bye eby’olutalo we byegattira. Kabaka n’agamba omugoba w’eggaali lye nti, “Kyusa onzigye mu lutalo kubanga nfumitiddwa.”
34 The battle increased that day. However the king of Israel propped himself up in his chariot against the Arameans until the evening; and about the time of the going down of the sun, he died.
Olutalo ne lukanya olunaku lwonna, kyokka kabaka wa Isirayiri ne yeewaliriza okusigala mu gaali lye ng’atunuulidde Abasuuli okutuusa akawungeezi, era enjuba bwe yali ng’egwa n’afa.
