< 1 Timothy 5 >
1 Do not rebuke an older man, but exhort him as a father; the younger men as brothers;
Usadzudzule munthu wachikulire mokalipa, koma umuchenjeze ngati abambo ako. Achinyamata uwatenge ngati abale ako.
2 the older women as mothers; the younger as sisters, in all purity.
Amayi achikulire uwatenge ngati amayi ako ndipo amayi achitsikana uwatenge ngati alongo ako, nʼkuyera mtima konse.
3 Honor widows who are widows indeed.
Uziwachitira ulemu akazi amasiye amene ali okhaokha.
4 But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them learn first to show piety towards their own family, and to repay their parents, for this is acceptable in the sight of God.
Koma ngati mkazi wamasiye ali ndi ana ndi zidzukulu, anawo ayambe aphunzira kukwaniritsa udindo wawo pa banja lawo moopa Mulungu, potero akubweza zabwino kwa makolo awo ndi agogo awo. Pakuti zimenezi ndiye zimakondweretsa Mulungu.
5 Now she who is a widow indeed, and desolate, has her hope set on God, and continues in petitions and prayers night and day.
Mkazi wamasiye amene ali yekha ndi wopanda womuthandiza, ameneyo wayika chiyembekezo chake pa Mulungu, ndipo amapemphera kosalekeza usana ndi usiku kuti Mulungu azimuthandiza.
6 But she who gives herself to pleasure is dead while she lives.
Koma mkazi wamasiye amene amangokhalira kuchita zosangalatsa moyo wake, wafa kale ngakhale akanali ndi moyo.
7 Also command these things, so that they will be without fault.
Pereka malangizo amenewa kwa anthu kuti akhale opanda zolakwa.
8 But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever.
Ngati wina sasamalira abale ake, makamaka a mʼbanja mwake mwenimweni, ameneyo wakana chikhulupiriro ndipo ndi woyipa kuposa wosakhulupirira.
9 Let no one be enrolled as a widow under sixty years old, having been the wife of one man,
Mayi wamasiye aliyense amene sanakwanitse zaka 60 zakubadwa, asakhale mʼgulu la akazi amasiye. Akhale woti anakwatiwapo ndi mwamuna wake mmodzi yekha.
10 being approved by good works, if she has brought up children, if she has been hospitable to strangers, if she has washed the saints' feet, if she has relieved the afflicted, and if she has diligently followed every good work.
Akhale mayi woti amadziwika bwino pa ntchito zake zabwino monga kulera ana, kusamalira alendo, kusambitsa mapazi a anthu a Mulungu, kuthandiza amene ali pa mavuto ndi kudzipereka pa ntchito zonse zabwino.
11 But refuse younger widows, for whenever their passions lead them away from Christ, they desire to marry;
Akazi amasiye achitsikana, usawayike mʼgulu limeneli. Pakuti zilakolako zawo zikayamba kuwavutitsa nʼkuwalekanitsa ndi Khristu, amafuna kukwatiwanso.
12 having condemnation, because they have rejected their first pledge.
Zikatero amadziweruza okha chifukwa aphwanya lonjezo lawo loyamba.
13 Besides, they also learn to be idle, going about from house to house. Not only idle, but also gossips and busybodies, saying things which they ought not.
Komanso amakhala ndi chizolowezi cha ulesi ndi kumangoyenda khomo ndi khomo. Ndipo sikungokhala aulesi kokha komanso kuchita miseche, kududukira za eni ake, kumangokamba zinthu zosayenera kukamba.
14 I desire therefore that the younger widows marry, bear children, rule the household, and give no occasion to the adversary for reviling.
Kotero, ndikulangiza akazi amasiye achitsikana kuti akwatiwe, akhale ndi ana, asamalire makomo awo ndipo asamupatse mdani mpata wonyoza
15 For already some have turned aside after Satan.
Akazi amasiye ena apatuka kale nʼkumatsatira Satana.
16 If any believing woman has widows, she must assist them, and do not let the church be burdened; that it might help those widows who are truly in need.
Ngati mayi aliyense wokhulupirira ali ndi akazi amasiye amene akuwasamalira, apitirizebe kuwasamalira ndipo asalemetse mpingo, kuti mpingo uthandize akazi amasiye amene ali okhaokha.
17 Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and in teaching.
Akulu ampingo amene amayangʼanira bwino zochitika za mu mpingo, ndi oyenera ulemu wowirikiza, makamaka amene ntchito yawo ndi kulalikira ndi kuphunzitsa.
18 For the Scripture says, "Do not muzzle the ox when it treads out the grain." And, "The laborer is worthy of his wages."
Pakuti Mawu a Mulungu amati, “Musamange ngʼombe pakamwa pamene ikupuntha tirigu,” ndi “Wantchito ngoyenera kulandira malipiro ake.”
19 Do not receive an accusation against an elder, except at the word of two or three witnesses.
Usamamvere mawu oneneza akulu ampingo pokhapokha patakhala mboni ziwiri kapena zitatu.
20 Those who sin, reprove in the sight of all, that the rest also may be in fear.
Akulu ampingo amene akuchimwa, uwadzudzule poyera kuti ena aphunzirepo.
21 I command you in the sight of God, and Christ Jesus, and the chosen angels, that you observe these things without prejudice, doing nothing by partiality.
Ndikukulamulira pamaso pa Mulungu, pamaso pa Yesu Khristu ndi pamaso pa angelo osankhika, kuti usunge malangizowa mosachotsera ndipo usachite kalikonse mokondera.
22 Do not ordain anyone hastily, nor participate in the sins of others. Keep yourself pure.
Usafulumire kusanjika manja munthu, ndipo usavomerezane ndi anthu ena pa machimo. Usunge bwino kuyera mtima kwako.
23 Be no longer a drinker of water only, but use a little wine for your stomach's sake and your frequent infirmities.
Uleke kumangomwa madzi okha, koma uzimwako vinyo pangʼono chifukwa cha vuto lako la mʼmimba ndi kudwala kwako kwa pafupipafupi.
24 The sins of some people are obvious, going before them to judgment, but those of others show up later.
Anthu ena machimo awo amaonekeratu poyera, amakafika pa mpando wachiweruzo eni akewo asanakafike. Machimo a anthu ena amabwera mʼmbuyo mwawo.
25 In the same way also there are good works that are obvious, and those that are otherwise cannot be hidden.
Momwemonso, ntchito zabwino zimaonekera poyera, ndipo ngakhale zipande kutero, sizingatheke kubisika.
