< 1 Timothy 4 >

1 But the Spirit says expressly that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons,
ⲁ̅ⲡⲉⲡⲛⲁ ⲇⲉ ϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϩⲣⲏⲧⲱⲥ ϫⲉ ϩⲛ ⲑⲁⲏ ⲛⲛⲉⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲟⲩⲛ ϩⲟⲓⲛⲉ ⲛⲁⲥⲁϩⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲉⲩⲕⲱ ⲛϩⲧⲏⲩ ⲉϩⲉⲛⲡⲛⲁ ⲙⲡⲗⲁⲛⲟⲥ ⲙⲛ ϩⲉⲛⲥⲃⲱ ⲛⲇⲁⲓⲙⲱⲛⲓⲟⲛ
2 through the hypocrisy of liars, branded in their own conscience as with a hot iron;
ⲃ̅ϩⲛ ⲟⲩϩⲩⲡⲟⲕⲣⲓⲥⲓⲥ ⲙⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉϥϫⲉ ϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛϭⲟⲗ ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲩⲥⲩⲛⲓⲇⲏⲥⲓⲥ ⲣⲟⲕϩ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ
3 forbidding marriage and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.
ⲅ̅ⲉⲩⲕⲱⲗⲩ ⲙⲡϫⲓϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩⲥⲁϩⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲛϭⲓ ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲟⲙ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲛⲧⲁ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲥⲟⲛⲧⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲣⲉ ⲛⲡⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ϫⲓⲧⲟⲩ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩϣⲡϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩⲥⲟⲩⲛ ⲧⲙⲉ
4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, if it is received with thanksgiving.
ⲇ̅ⲥⲱⲛⲧ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲛⲁⲛⲟⲩⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲛ ⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲧⲥⲧⲏⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲩϫⲓ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩϣⲡϩⲙⲟⲧ
5 For it is sanctified through the word of God and prayer.
ⲉ̅ϣⲁⲩⲧⲃⲃⲟ ⲅⲁⲣ ϩⲓⲧⲙ ⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲧⲟⲛϩ ⲙⲛ ⲡⲉϣⲗⲏⲗ
6 If you instruct the brothers of these things, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, nourished in the words of the faith, and of the good doctrine which you have followed.
ⲋ̅ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲕϣⲁⲛⲕⲁⲁⲩ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛⲛⲉⲥⲛⲏⲩ ⲕⲛⲁϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲇⲓⲁⲕⲟⲛⲟⲥ ⲉⲛⲁⲛⲟⲩϥ ⲙⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲉⲕⲥⲁⲛⲁϣⲧ ϩⲛ ⲛϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲧⲉⲥⲃⲱ ⲉⲧⲛⲁⲛⲟⲩⲥ ⲧⲁⲓ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲕⲟⲩⲁϩⲕ ⲛⲥⲱⲥ
7 But have nothing to do with irreverent and silly myths. And train yourself for godliness.
ⲍ̅ⲛⲓϣⲃⲱ ⲇⲉ ⲛϩⲗⲗⲱ ⲉⲧⲃⲏⲧ ⲡⲁⲣⲁⲓⲧⲓ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲅⲩⲙⲛⲁⲍⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲕ ⲉⲧⲙⲛⲧⲉⲩⲥⲉⲃⲏⲥ
8 For bodily exercise has some value, but godliness has value in all things, having the promise of the life which is now, and of that which is to come.
ⲏ̅ⲧⲅⲩⲙⲛⲁⲥⲓⲁ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲙⲡⲥⲱⲙⲁ ⲟⲩⲛⲟϥⲣⲉ ⲧⲉ ⲡⲣⲟⲥⲟⲩⲕⲟⲩⲓ ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲧⲙⲛⲧⲉⲩⲥⲉⲃⲏⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲟⲩⲛⲟϥⲣⲉ ⲧⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲩⲛⲧⲁⲥ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲙⲡⲉⲣⲏⲧ ⲙⲡⲱⲛϩ ⲡⲁ ⲡⲉⲓⲙⲁ ⲙⲛ ⲡⲁ ⲡⲕⲉⲟⲩⲁ
9 This saying is faithful and worthy of all acceptance.
ⲑ̅ⲟⲩⲡⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ⲡⲉ ⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ϥⲙⲡϣⲁ ⲛⲧⲁⲉⲓⲟ ⲛⲓⲙ
10 For to this end we both labor and strive, because we have set our trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.
ⲓ̅ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲧⲛϩⲟⲥⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲥⲉⲛⲟϭ ⲛⲉϭ ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ϫⲉ ⲁⲛⲛⲁϩⲧⲉ ⲉⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲧⲟⲛϩ ⲉⲧⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲥⲱⲧⲏⲣ ⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲙⲁⲗⲓⲥⲧⲁ ⲛⲙⲡⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ
11 Command and teach these things.
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ⲡⲁⲣⲁⲅⲅⲉⲓⲗⲉ ⲛⲛⲁⲓ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲅϯⲥⲃⲱ
12 Let no one despise your youth; but be an example to those who believe, in word, in your way of life, in love, in faith, and in purity.
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ⲙⲡⲣⲧⲣⲉ ⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲫⲣⲟⲛⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲕⲙⲛⲧϣⲏⲣⲉ ϣⲏⲙ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛⲥⲙⲟⲧ ⲛⲙⲡⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ϩⲙ ⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉϩⲃⲏⲩⲉ ϩⲛ ⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ϩⲙ ⲡⲧⲃⲃⲟ
13 Until I come, pay attention to reading, to exhortation, and to teaching.
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ⲡⲣⲟⲥⲉⲭⲉ ⲉⲡⲱϣ ϣⲁⲛϯⲉⲓ ⲉⲡⲥⲟⲡⲥ ⲉⲧⲉⲥⲃⲱ
14 Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the elders.
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ⲙⲡⲣⲁⲙⲉⲗⲉⲓ ⲉⲡⲉϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲉⲧⲛϩⲏⲧⲕ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩⲧⲁⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲕ ϩⲓⲧⲛ ⲟⲩⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲓⲁ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲧⲁⲗⲟ ⲛⲛϭⲓϫ ⲛⲛⲉⲡⲣⲉⲥⲃⲩⲧⲉⲣⲟⲥ
15 Be diligent in these things. Give yourself wholly to them, that your progress may be revealed to all.
ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ⲙⲉⲗⲉⲧⲁ ⲛⲛⲁⲓ ϣⲱⲡⲉ ϩⲛ ⲛⲁⲓ ϫⲉ ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲕⲡⲣⲟⲕⲟⲡⲏ ⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲙ
16 Pay attention to yourself, and to your teaching. Continue in these things, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.
ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ϯϩⲧⲏⲕ ⲉⲣⲟⲕ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲅϭⲱ ϩⲓϫⲱⲟⲩ ϩⲛ ⲧⲉⲥⲃⲱ ⲉⲕⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲙⲡⲁⲓ ⲕⲛⲁⲧⲟⲩϫⲟⲕ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲣⲟⲕ
