1 Timothy 3
1 This is a faithful saying: If someone aspires to the office of overseer, he desires a good work.
೧ಸಭಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷನ ಉದ್ಯೋಗವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದಿರುವವನು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆಂಬ ಮಾತು ನಂಬತಕ್ಕದ್ದಾಗಿದೆ.
2 The overseer, therefore, must be beyond criticism, the husband of one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, good at teaching;
೨ಸಭಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷನು ದೋಷಾರೋಪಣೆಯಿಲ್ಲದವನೂ, ಏಕಪತ್ನಿಯುಳ್ಳವನೂ, ಶಾಂತನೂ, ಜಿತೇಂದ್ರಿಯನೂ, ಮಾನಸ್ಥನೂ, ಅತಿಥಿಸತ್ಕಾರಮಾಡುವವನೂ, ಬೋಧಿಸಲು ಶಕ್ತನಾಗಿರಬೇಕು.
3 not a drunkard, not violent, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money;
೩ಅವನು ಕುಡಕನು, ಜಗಳವಾಡುವವನೂ ಆಗಿರದೆ, ಸಾತ್ವಿಕನೂ, ಹೊಡೆದಾಡದವನೂ ದ್ರವ್ಯಾಶೆಯಿಲ್ಲದವನೂ ಆಗಿರಬೇಕು.
4 one who rules his own house well, having children in subjection with all reverence;
೪ಪೂರ್ಣಗೌರವದಿಂದ ತನ್ನ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಅಧೀನದಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು, ಸ್ವಂತ ಮನೆಯವರನ್ನು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ನಡೆಸುವವನಾಗಿರಬೇಕು.
5 (but if someone does not know how to manage his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?)
೫ಸ್ವಂತ ಮನೆಯವರನ್ನು ನಡೆಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ತಿಳಿಯದವನು ದೇವರ ಸಭೆಯನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ಪರಾಂಬರಿಸುವನು?
6 not a new convert, lest being puffed up he fall into the same condemnation as the devil.
೬ಅವನು ಹೊಸದಾಗಿ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿದವನಾಗಿರಬಾರದು, ಅಂಥವನಾದರೆ ಉಬ್ಬಿಕೊಂಡು ಸೈತಾನನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ತವಾದ ಶಿಕ್ಷಾವಿಧಿಗೆ ಒಳಗಾದಾನು.
7 Moreover he must have good testimony from those who are outside, to avoid falling into disgrace and the trap of the devil.
೭ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನು ಹೊರಗಣವರಿಂದ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವನೆನ್ನಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿರಬೇಕು, ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ ನಿಂದೆಗೆ ಗುರಿಯಾಗುವನು ಮತ್ತು ಸೈತಾನನ ತಂತ್ರಗಳೊಳಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಬಿದ್ದಾನು.
8 Deacons, in the same way, must be reverent, not double-tongued, not devoted to a lot of wine, not greedy for money;
೮ಅದೇ ರೀತಿಯಾಗಿ ಸಭಾಸೇವಕರು ಗೌರವವುಳ್ಳವರಾಗಿರಬೇಕು. ಅವರು ಎರಡು ಮಾತಿನವರೂ, ಮದ್ಯಾಸಕ್ತರೂ, ನೀಚಲಾಭವನ್ನು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸುವವರೂ ಆಗಿರದೆ,
9 holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.
೯ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ಪ್ರಕಟವಾಗಿರುವ ಸತ್ಯಾರ್ಥವನ್ನು ಶುದ್ಧ ಮನಸ್ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಿಂದ ಕೈಕೊಳ್ಳುವವರಾಗಿರಬೇಕು.
10 Let them also first be tested; then let them serve as deacons, if they are blamesless.
೧೦ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವರು ಮೊದಲು ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸಲ್ಪಡಬೇಕು, ತರುವಾಯ ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಯಾರೂ ತಪ್ಪುಹೊರಿಸದಿದ್ದರೆ ಸಭಾಸೇವಕರ ಉದ್ಯೋಗವನ್ನು ನೆರವೇರಿಸಲಿ.
11 Their wives in the same way must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, faithful in all things.
೧೧ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಸಭಾಸೇವಕಿಯರಾದ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರೂ ಗೌರವವುಳ್ಳವರಾಗಿರಬೇಕು, ಚಾಡಿಹೇಳುವವರಾಗಿರದೆ, ಸ್ವಸ್ಥಬುದ್ಧಿಯುಳ್ಳವರೂ, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವಿಷಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತರಾಗಿಯೂ ಇರಬೇಕು.
12 Let deacons be husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.
೧೨ಸಭಾಸೇವಕರು ಏಕಪತ್ನಿಯುಳ್ಳವರೂ, ತಮ್ಮ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನೂ ಮನೆಯವರನ್ನೂ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ನಡಿಸುವವರೂ ಆಗಿರಬೇಕು.
13 For those who have served well as deacons gain for themselves a good standing, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.
೧೩ಸಭಾಸೇವಕರಾಗಿ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿರುವವರು ತಮಗೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಪದವಿಯನ್ನೂ, ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತಯೇಸುವಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯ ಸಂಬಂಧವಾಗಿ ಬಹುಧೈರ್ಯವನ್ನೂ ಸಂಪಾದಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.
14 These things I write to you, hoping to come to you shortly;
೧೪ಬೇಗನೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬರುವೆನೆಂಬ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಿಂದಲೇ ನಿನಗೆ ಈ ವಿಷಯಗಳನ್ನು ಬರೆದಿದ್ದೇನೆ.
15 but if I wait long, that you may know how people ought to behave themselves in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
೧೫ಆದರೆ ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ನಾನು ತಡಮಾಡಿದರೂ, ದೇವರ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂದರೆ ಜೀವಸ್ವರೂಪನಾದ ದೇವರ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕಾದ ರೀತಿಯು ನಿನಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿರಬೇಕೆಂದು ಈ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಬರೆದಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಯಾಕೆಂದರೆ ಸಭೆಯು ಸತ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸ್ತಂಭವೂ ಆಧಾರವೂ ಆಗಿದೆ.
16 Without controversy, the mystery of godliness is great: He was revealed in the flesh, justified by the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, and received up in glory.
೧೬ದೇವಭಕ್ತಿಗೆ ಆಧಾರವಾಗಿರುವ ಸತ್ಯಾರ್ಥದ ರಹಸ್ಯವು ಗಂಭೀರವಾದದ್ದೆಂಬುದನ್ನು ನಾವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇವೆ, ಅದೇನಂದರೆ, ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನು ಶರೀರಧಾರಿಯಾಗಿ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಕ್ಷನಾದನು, ಆತ್ಮಸಂಬಂಧವಾಗಿ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನೇ ನೀತಿವಂತನೆಂದು ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟನು, ದೇವದೂತರಿಗೆ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು, ಅನ್ಯಜನರ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾರಲ್ಪಟ್ಟನು, ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ನಂಬಲ್ಪಟ್ಟನು, ಮಹಿಮೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪರಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಎತ್ತಲ್ಪಟ್ಟನು.
