1 Timothy 2
1 I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings, be made for all people:
Admoesto-te pois, antes de tudo, que se façam deprecações, orações, intercessões, e acções de graças por todos os homens;
2 for kings and all who are in high places; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence.
Pelos reis, e por todos os que estão em eminencia, para que tenhamos uma vida quieta e socegada, em toda a piedade e honestidade.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior;
Porque isto é bom, é agradavel diante de Deus nosso Salvador;
4 who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth.
O qual quer que todos os homens se salvem, e venham ao conhecimento da verdade.
5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and humanity, a human, Christ Jesus,
Porque ha um só Deus, e um só Mediador entre Deus e os homens, Jesus Christo homem.
6 who gave himself as a ransom for all; the testimony in its own times;
O qual se deu a si mesmo em preço de redempção por todos, para servir de testemunho a seu tempo.
7 to which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle (I am telling the truth, I am not lying), a teacher of the non-Jews in faith and truth.
Para o que (digo a verdade em Christo, não minto) estou constituido prégador, e apostolo, e doutor dos gentios na fé e na verdade.
8 I desire therefore that the men in every place pray, lifting up holy hands without anger and doubting.
Quero pois que os varões orem em todo o logar, levantando mãos sanctas, sem ira nem contenda.
9 In the same way, that women also adorn themselves in decent clothing, with modesty and propriety; not just with braided hair, gold, pearls, or expensive clothing;
Que do mesmo modo as mulheres tambem se ataviem com traje honesto, com pudor e modestia, não com os cabellos encrespados, ou com oiro, ou perolas, ou vestidos preciosos,
10 but (which becomes women professing godliness) with good works.
Mas (como é decente para mulheres que fazem profissão de servir a Deus) com boas obras.
11 Let a woman learn in quietness with all subjection.
A mulher aprenda em silencio, com toda a sujeição.
12 But I do not permit a woman to teach, nor to exercise authority over a man, but to be in quietness.
Não permitto, porém, que a mulher ensine, nem use de auctoridade sobre o marido, mas que esteja em silencio.
13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
Porque primeiro foi formado Adão, depois Eva.
14 Adam was not deceived, but the woman, being deceived, has fallen into disobedience;
E Adão não foi enganado, mas a mulher, sendo enganada, caiu em transgressão.
15 but she will be delivered through the childbirth, if they continue in faith and love and holiness, with self-control.
Salvar-se-ha, porém, dando á luz filhos, se permanecer com modestia na fé, na caridade e na sanctificação.
