1 Samuel 30

1 It happened, when David and his men had come to Ziklag on the third day, that Amalek had made a raid on the Negev, and on Ziklag, and had struck Ziklag, and burned it with fire,

Y como David y los suyos vinieron a Siceleg al tercero día, los de Amalec habían entrado al mediodía, y a Siceleg, y habían herido a Siceleg, y puéstola a fuego.

2 and had taken captive the women and all who were in it, both small and great. They did not kill any, but carried them off, and went their way.

Y a las mujeres que estaban en ella habían llevado cautivas, desde el menor hasta el mayor: mas a nadie habían muerto, sino los habían llevado, e ídose su camino.

3 When David and his men came to the city, look, it was burned with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captive.

Vino pues David con los suyos a la ciudad, y he aquí que estaba quemada a fuego: y sus mujeres, e hijos, e hijas llevadas cautivas.

4 Then David and the people who were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep.

Entonces David, y el pueblo que estaba con él, alzaron su voz y lloraron hasta que les faltaron las fuerzas para llorar.

5 David's two wives were taken captive, Ahinoam the Jezreelite and Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite.

Las dos mujeres de David Aquinoam Jezraelita, y Abigail la mujer de Nabal del Carmelo, también eran cautivas.

6 David was greatly distressed; for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David strengthened himself in YHWH his God.

Y David fue muy angustiado, porque el pueblo hablaba de apedrearle: porque todo el pueblo estaba con ánimo amargo, cada uno por sus hijos y por sus hijas: mas David se esforzó en Jehová su Dios.

7 David said to Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelech, "Please bring me here the ephod." Abiathar brought the ephod to David.

Y dijo David a Abiatar sacerdote, hijo de Aquimelec: Yo te ruego que me acerques el efod. Y Abiatar acercó el efod a David.

8 David inquired of YHWH, saying, "If I pursue after this troop, shall I overtake them?" He answered him, "Pursue; for you shall surely overtake them, and shall without fail recover all."

Y David consultó a Jehová, diciendo: ¿Seguiré este ejército? ¿Podré alcanzarle? Y él le dijo: Síguele, que de cierto le tomarás, y de cierto librarás la presa.

9 So David went, he and the six hundred men who were with him, and came to the Wadi Besor, where those who were left behind stayed.

Y partióse David, él y los seiscientos hombres que con él estaban, y vinieron hasta el arroyo de Besor, donde se quedaron algunos.

10 But David pursued, he and four hundred men; for two hundred stayed behind, who were so faint that they couldn't cross the Wadi Besor.

Y David siguió el alcance con cuatrocientos hombres, porque los doscientos se quedaron, que estaban tan cansados que no pudieron pasar el arroyo de Besor.

11 They found an Egyptian in the field, and brought him to David, and gave him bread, and he ate; and they gave him water to drink.

Y hallaron un hombre Egipcio en el campo, el cual tomaron, y trajeron a David: y diéronle de comer pan, y diéronle también a beber agua.

12 They gave him a piece of a cake of figs, and two clusters of raisins. When he had eaten, his spirit came again to him; for he had eaten no bread, nor drunk any water, three days and three nights.

Y diéronle también un pedazo de masa de higos pasados, y dos hilos de pasas. Y como comió volvió en él su espíritu: por que no había comido pan, ni bebido agua en tres días y tres noches.

13 David asked him, "To whom do you belong? Where are you from?" He said, "I am a young man of Egypt, servant to an Amalekite; and my master left me, because three days ago I fell sick.

Y David le dijo: ¿Cúyo eres tú? ¿Y de dónde eres? Y el mozo Egipcio respondió: Yo soy siervo de un Amalecita: y dejóme mi amo hoy ha tres días, porque estaba enfermo.

14 We made a raid on the Negev of the Kerethites, and on that which belongs to Judah, and on the Negev of Caleb; and we burned Ziklag with fire."

Y corrimos a la parte del mediodía de Cereti, y a Judá, y al mediodía de Caleb, y pusimos fuego a Siceleg.

15 David said to him, "Will you bring me down to this troop?" He said, "Swear to me by God that you will neither kill me, nor deliver me up into the hands of my master, and I will bring you down to this troop." And he swore to him.

Y díjole David: ¿Me llevarás tú a aquel ejército? Y él dijo: Házme juramento por Dios, que no me matarás, ni me entregarás en las manos de mi amo: y yo te llevaré al ejército.

16 When he had brought him down, look, they were spread around over all the ground, eating, drinking, and dancing, because of all the great spoil that they had taken out of the land of the Philistines, and out of the land of Judah.

Y así le llevó: y he aquí, que estaban derramados sobre la haz de toda la tierra comiendo y bebiendo; y haciendo fiesta, por toda aquella gran presa que habían tomado de la tierra de los Filisteos, y de la tierra de Judá.

17 David struck them from the twilight even to the evening of the next day and he put them to death. Not a man of them escaped from there, except four hundred young men, who rode on camels and fled.

E hiriólos David desde aquella mañana hasta la tarde del día siguiente: que no escapó de ellos ninguno, sino fueron cuatrocientos mancebos, que habían subido en camellos, y habían huido.

18 He recovered all that the Amalekites had taken; and David rescued his two wives.

Y libró David todo lo que los Amalecitas habían tomado: y también libró David a sus dos mujeres.

19 There was nothing lacking to them, neither small nor great, neither sons nor daughters, neither spoil, nor anything that they had taken to them. David brought back all.

Y no les faltó cosa chica ni grande, así de hijos como de hijas, del robo, y de todas las cosas que les habían tomado: todo lo tornó David.

20 He took all the flocks and the herds, which they drove before those other livestock, and said, "This is David's spoil."

Tomó también David todas las ovejas, y ganados mayores: y traíanlo todo delante, y decían: Esta es la presa de David.

21 David came to the two hundred men, who were so faint that they could not follow David, whom he also had made to stay at the Wadi Besor; and they went forth to meet David, and to meet the people who were with him. And when David came near to the people, he greeted them.

Y vino David a los doscientos hombres, que habían quedado cansados, y no habían podido seguir a David, a los cuales habían hecho quedar al arroyo de Besor: y ellos salieron a recibir a David, y al pueblo que con él estaba. Y como David llegó a la gente saludólos con paz.

22 Then every wicked and worthless one of the men who had gone with David answered, and they said, "Because they did not go with us, we will not give them anything of the spoil that we have recovered, except to each man his wife and his children. And let them take them, and depart."

Y todos los malos y los de Belial que había entre los que habían ido con David, respondieron, y dijeron: Pues que estos no fueron con nosotros, no les daremos de la presa, que hemos quitado, mas de a cada uno su mujer y sus hijos, los cuales tomen y se vayan.

23 Then David said, "You shall not do so after what YHWH has given to us, who has preserved us, and delivered into our hand the raiding party that came against us.

Y David dijo: No hagáis eso, hermanos míos, de lo que Jehová nos ha dado: el cual nos ha guardado, y ha entregado en nuestras manos el ejército, que vino sobre nosotros.

24 So who will listen to you in this matter? For they are not inferior to you. For as his share is who goes down to the battle, so will his share be who remains with the supplies; they will share alike."

Porque ¿quién os escuchará en este caso? Porque igual parte ha de ser la de los que vienen a la batalla, y la de los que quedan al bagaje: que partan juntamente.

25 It was so from that day forward, that he made it a statute and an ordinance for Israel to this day.

Y desde aquel día en adelante fue esto puesto por ley y ordenanza en Israel hasta hoy.

26 When David came to Ziklag, he sent of the spoil to the elders of Judah and to his friends, saying, "Look, a present for you of the spoil of the enemies of YHWH."

Y como David llego a Siceleg, envió de la presa a los ancianos de Judá sus amigos, diciendo: Veis aquí bendición para vosotros de la presa de los enemigos de Jehová.

27 He sent it to those who were in Bethel, and to those who were in Ramath Negev, and to those who were in Jattir,

A los que estaban en Bet-el, y en Ramot al mediodía: y a los que estaban en Geter:

28 and to those who were in Aroer, and to those who were in Siphmoth, and to those who were in Eshtemoa,

Y a los que estaban en Aroer, y en Sefamot: y a los que estaban en Estamo:

29 and to those who were in Racal, and to those who were in the cities of the Jerahmeelites, and to those who were in the cities of the Kenizzites.

Y a los que estaban en Racal: y a los que estaban en las ciudades de Jerameel: y a los que estaban en las ciudades del Cineo:

30 and to those who were in Hormah, and to those who were in Bor Ashan, and to those who were in Athach,

Y a los que estaban en Jorma: y a los que estaban en Corasán: y a los que estaban en Atac:

31 and to those who were in Hebron, and to all the places where David himself and his men used to stay.

Y a los que estaban en Hebrón, y en todos los lugares donde David había estado con los suyos.
