3 Now Samuel was dead, and all Israel had lamented him, and buried him in Ramah, even in his own city. Saul had removed the mediums, and spiritists, from the land.

4 The Philistines gathered themselves together, and came and camped in Shunem: and Saul gathered all Israel together, and they camped in Gilboa.
VaFiristia vakaungana vakauya vakadzika musasa paShunemi, uye Sauro akaunganidza vaIsraeri vose akadzika musasa paGiribhoa.
5 When Saul saw the army of the Philistines, he was afraid, and his heart trembled greatly.
Sauro akati aona varwi vavaFiristia, akatya; kutya kwakazadza mwoyo wake.
6 When Saul inquired of YHWH, YHWH did not answer him, neither by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets.
Akabvunza kuna Jehovha, asi Jehovha haana kumupindura nezviroto kana neUrimi kana navaprofita.
7 Then Saul said to his servants, "Find for me a woman who is a medium, that I may go to her and inquire of her." His servants said to him, "Look, there is a woman who is a medium at Endor."
Ipapo Sauro akati kuvaranda vake, “Nditsvakirei mukadzi anosvikirwa, kuti ndiende kundobvunza kwaari.” Ivo vakati, “Kuno mumwe ari paEndori.”
8 Saul disguised himself, and put on other clothing, and went, he and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night. And he said, "Divine a spirit for me, please, and bring up for me the one whom I name to you."
Saka Sauro akazvivanza akafuka dzimwe nguo, akaenda iye navamwe varume vaviri kumukadzi uyu usiku. Akati kwaari, “Ndibvunzire mweya, ugondimutsirawo uyo wandichakuudza.”
9 The woman said to him, "Look, you know what Saul has done, how he has cut off the mediums and spiritists out of the land. Why then do you lay a snare for my life, to cause me to die?"
Asi mukadzi akati kwaari, “Zvirokwazvo unoziva iwe zvakaitwa naSauro. Akauraya masvikiro navavuki kubva panyika. Ko, waisirei musungo muupenyu hwangu kuti undiurayise?”
10 But Saul swore to her, saying, "As YHWH lives, no punishment will come upon you for this thing."
Sauro akamupikira naJehovha akati, “Zvirokwazvo naJehovha mupenyu, haungazorangwi pamusoro paizvozvi.”
11 Then the woman said, "Whom shall I bring up to you?" He said, "Bring Samuel up for me."
Ipapo mukadzi akabvunza akati, “Ndianiko wandichakumutsira?” Iye akati, “Ndimutsire Samueri.”

13 The king said to her, "Do not be afraid. For what do you see?" The woman said to Saul, "I see a god coming up out of the earth."
Mambo akati kwaari, “Usatya. Uri kuoneiko?” Mukadzi akati, “Ndinoona mweya uchikwira uchibuda pasi.”
14 He said to her, "What does he look like?" She said, "An old man comes up. He is covered with a robe." Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he bowed with his face to the ground, and showed respect.
Iye akati, “Akaita seiko?” Akati, “Murume mutana akafuka nguo ari kuuya.” Ipapo Sauro akaziva kuti akanga ari Samueri, akakotamira pasi nechiso chake.
15 And Samuel said, "Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?" And Saul answered, "I am very distressed, for the Philistines are fighting against me, and God has turned away from me and no longer answers me, either by prophets, or by dreams. So therefore I have called on you, that you may make known to me what I should do."
Samueri akati kuna Sauro, “Seiko wanditambudza nokundimutsa?” Sauro akati, “Ndiri kutambudzika zvikuru. VaFiristia vari kurwa neni, uye Mwari abva kwandiri. Haachandipinduri, navaprofita kana nokurota. Saka ndakudanai imi kuti muzondiudza zvokuita.”
16 Samuel said, "Why then do you ask of me, since YHWH has departed from you and is with your neighbor?
Samueri akati, “Unondibvunzireiko ini, sezvo zvino Jehovha akabva kwauri akava muvengi wako?
17 YHWH has done to you as he spoke by me. YHWH has torn the kingdom out of your hand, and given it to your neighbor, even to David.
Jehovha akaita zvaakataura kare kubudikidza neni. Jehovha akabvarura umambo akahubvisa mumaoko ako akahupa kuno mumwe wavavakidzani vako, kuna Dhavhidhi.
18 Because you did not obey the voice of YHWH, and did not execute his fierce wrath on Amalek, therefore YHWH has done this thing to you this day.
Nokuti hauna kuteerera Jehovha, kana kuratidza hasha dzake dzinotyisa pamusoro peAmareki, Jehovha azviita izvi nhasi kwauri.
19 Moreover YHWH will deliver Israel also with you into the hand of the Philistines; and tomorrow you and your sons with you will fall. YHWH will deliver the army of Israel also into the hand of the Philistines."
Jehovha achaisa vaIsraeri pamwe chete newe kuvaFiristia, uye mangwana iwe navanakomana vako muchava neni. Jehovha achaisazve hondo yavaIsraeri kuvaFiristia.”
20 Then Saul fell immediately his full length on the earth, and was terrified, because of the words of Samuel. There was no strength in him; for he had eaten no bread all the day, nor all the night.

Mukadzi paakaenda pana Sauro akaona kuti akanga avhundutswa kwazvo, akati kwaari, “Tarirai, murandakadzi wenyu akakuteererai. Ndakaisa upenyu hwangu mumaoko angu ndikaita zvamakandiudza kuti ndiite.
22 Now therefore, please listen also to the voice of your servant, and let me set a morsel of bread before you; and eat, that you may have strength, when you go on your way."
