11 When Saul and all Israel heard those words of the Philistine, they were dismayed, and greatly afraid.
Da jin maganganun Bafilistin, sai Shawulu da dukan Isra’ila suka damu suka kuma ji tsoro.
12 Now David was the son of that Ephrathite of Bethlehem in Judah, whose name was Jesse; and he had eight sons. And in the days of Saul the man was old and advanced in years.

20 So David arose early in the morning and left the flock with a keeper and took and went, as Jesse had commanded him; and he came to the perimeter of the camp as the army was marching out to its battle formation and shouting the war cry.

Isra’ilawa suka yi ta cewa, “Kun ga yadda wannan mutum yana ta fitowa? Zai kuma ba shi’yarsa yă aura, yă cire suna mahaifinsa daga biyan kuɗin haraji cikin Isra’ila.”
26 David spoke to the men who stood by him, saying, "What shall be done to the man who kills this Philistine, and takes away this disgrace from Israel? For who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?"

28 Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spoke to the men; and Eliab's anger was kindled against David, and he said, "Why have you come down? With whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know your insolence and the wickedness of your heart; for you have come down that you might see the battle."
Da wansa Eliyab, ya ji yana magana da mutanen, sai ransa ya ɓace ƙwarai saboda fushi, sai ya ce wa Dawuda, “Me ka zo yi a nan? Wa kuma ka bar wa’yan tumakin a jeji? Ka zo nan ne don ka yi kallon yaƙi kawai.”

Dawuda ya ce, “To, yanzu me na yi? Ba zan ma yi magana ba?”
30 Then he turned away from him toward another, and spoke in the same way, and they gave him an answer as before.
31 When the words that David spoke were overheard, they repeated them before Saul; and he sent for him.

33 Saul said to David, "You are not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him; for you are but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth."
Ga shi kuwa kai ɗan yaro ne kawai.”
34 David said to Saul, "Your servant was keeping his father's sheep; and when a lion or a bear came, and took a lamb out of the flock,

35 I went out after him, and struck him, and rescued it out of his mouth. When he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and struck him, and killed him.
Nakan bi ta a baya in buga ta in kuma ƙwato tunkiyar daga bakinta. In kuma ta taso mini, nakan cafke ta a gashinta in buga ta in kashe.
36 Your servant struck both the lion and the bear, and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them. Should I not go and smite him, and remove this day a disgrace from Israel? For who is this uncircumcised one, since he has defied the armies of the living God?

38 And he dressed David in a uniform with a bronze helmet on his head, and he clothed him with a coat of armor.
39 And David strapped on his sword over his uniform, and after he had tried once or twice to walk, then David said to Saul, "I can't walk with these, for I am not used to them." So they took them off him.
Dawuda ya ɗaura māshin Shawulu a sulken, ya yi ƙoƙari yă zaga, sai ya ji ba zai iya ba saboda bai saba ba. Ya cewa Shawulu, “Ba zan iya tafiya da waɗannan ba, domin ban saba ba.” Don haka ya tuɓe su.

45 Then David said to the Philistine, "You come to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a javelin: but I come to you in the name of YHWH of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.
Dawuda ya ce wa Bafilistin, “Kana zuwa ka yaƙe ni da māshi da takobi da kere, amma ni ina zuwa in yaƙe ka a cikin sunan Ubangiji Maɗaukaki, Allah na rundunar Isra’ila, wanda ka rena.

Yayinda Shawulu yake kallon Dawuda sa’ad da za shi yă yaƙi Bafilistin, sai ya tambayi Abner, komandan rundunarsa ya ce, “Abner, ɗan wane ne wannan saurayi?” Abner ya ce ran sarki yă daɗe, “Ban sani ba.”
