< 1 Samuel 13 >
1 Saul was ruling for less than a year, when he ruled during year two over Israel,
Sauli analowa ufumu ali ndi zaka makumi atatu, ndipo analamulira Israeli kwa zaka 42.
2 that Saul chose for himself three thousand men of Israel, of which two thousand were with Saul in Michmash and in the hill country of Bethel, and one thousand were with Jonathan in Gibeah of Benjamin. And the rest of the people he sent away, each to his own home.
Nthawi ina Sauli anasankha Aisraeli 3,000. Mwa iwowa, 2,000 anali ndi Sauliyo ku Mikimasi ndi ku dziko la mapiri ku Beteli, ndipo 1,000 anali ndi Yonatani ku Gibeya ku Benjamini. Anthu ena onse otsala anawabweza kwawo.
3 Now Jonathan struck the garrison of the Philistines that was at Gibeah, and the Philistines heard of it. Saul blew the trumpet throughout all the land, saying, "Let the Hebrews hear."
Yonatani anakantha mkulu wa ankhondo wa Afilisti ku Geba, ndipo Afilisti anamva kuti Aheberi awukira. Tsono Sauli anawuza amithenga kuti alize lipenga mʼdziko lonse la Israeli.
4 All Israel heard that Saul had struck the garrison of the Philistines, and also that Israel had become repulsive to the Philistines. So the people were called out to join Saul at Gilgal.
Choncho Aisraeli onse anamva kuti Sauli wakantha mkulu wa ankhondo Wachifilisiti ndi kuti Afilisti anayipidwa nawo Aisraeli. Ndiye anthu anayitanidwa kuti abwere kwa Sauli ku Giligala.
5 The Philistines assembled themselves together to fight with Israel, and brought up against Israel three thousand chariots, and six thousand horsemen, and people as the sand which is on the seashore in multitude: and they came up, and camped in Michmash, eastward of Beth Aven.
Tsono Afilisti anasonkhana kuti amenyane ndi Aisraeli. Iwo anali ndi magaleta 3,000, okwera pa akavalo 2,000 ndiponso asilikali kuchuluka kwake ngati mchenga wa mʼmbali mwa nyanja. Iwo anapita ndi kukamanga misasa yawo ku Mikimasi, kummawa kwa Beti-Aveni.
6 When the men of Israel saw that they were in trouble (for the people were in a difficult situation), then the people hid themselves in caves and thickets, among the rocks, and in pits and cisterns.
Pamene Aisraeli anaona kuti anali pamavuto akulu, poti anali atapanikizidwa kwambiri, anabisala mʼmapanga, mʼmaenje, mʼmatanthwe, mʼmakwalala ndi mʼzitsime.
7 Now some of the Hebrews had gone over the Jordan to the land of Gad and Gilead; but as for Saul, he was yet in Gilgal, and all the people followed him trembling.
Ahebri ena anawoloka Yorodani mpaka kukafika ku dziko la Gadi ndi ku Giliyadi. Koma Sauli anakhalabe ku Giligala ndipo ankhondo onse amene anali naye anali njenjenje ndi mantha.
8 And he stayed seven days, according to the time that Samuel had said. But Samuel did not come to Gilgal, and the people began to abandon him.
Saulo anadikirira masiku asanu ndi awiri, monga mwa nthawi imene ananena Samueli. Koma Samueli sanabwere ku Giligala, ndipo anthu anayamba kumuthawa Sauli uja.
9 Saul said, "Bring here the burnt offering to me, and the peace offerings." He offered the burnt offering.
Kotero iye anati, “Bwera nayoni nsembe yopsereza ndi nsembe ya chiyanjano.” Ndipo Sauli anapereka nsembe yopsereza.
10 It came to pass that as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, look, Samuel came; and Saul went out to meet him, that he might greet him.
Atangomaliza kupereka nsembe, anangoona Samueli watulukira ndipo Sauli anapita kukamulonjera.
11 Samuel said, "What have you done?" Saul said, "Because I saw that the people were scattered from me, and that you did not come within the days appointed, and that the Philistines assembled themselves together at Michmash;
Samueli anafunsa kuti, “Nʼchiyani chimene wachita?” Sauli anayankha kuti, “Nditaona kuti anthu ayamba kundithawa, ndi kuti inu simunabwere pa nthawi munanena ija, ndiponso kuti Afilisti akusonkhana ku Mikimasi,
12 therefore I said, 'Now the Philistines will come down on me to Gilgal, and I haven't entreated the favor of YHWH.' I forced myself therefore, and offered the burnt offering."
ndinati, ‘Tsopano Afilisti abwera kudzandithira nkhondo ku Giligala kuno, chonsecho sindinapemphe Yehova kuti andikomere mtima.’ Motero ndinakakamizika kupereka nsembe yopsereza.”
13 Samuel said to Saul, "You have done foolishly. You have not kept the commandment of YHWH your God, which he commanded you; for now YHWH would have established your kingdom on Israel forever.
Samueli anati, “Mwachita zopusa. Simunatsate zimene Yehova Mulungu wanu anakulamulani kuti muchite. Mukanazitsata, Yehova akanawukhazikitsa ufumu wanu mu Israeli mpaka kalekale.
14 But now your kingdom shall not continue. YHWH has sought for himself a man after his own heart, and YHWH has appointed him to be prince over his people, because you have not kept that which YHWH commanded you."
Koma tsopano ufumu wanu sudzakhalitsa. Yehova wapeza munthu wapamtima pake ndipo wamusankha kukhala mtsogoleri wa anthu ake chifukwa inu simunasunge malamulo a Yehova.”
15 And Samuel arose and departed from Gilgal, and the rest of the people went up after Saul to meet him after the men of war, when they had come up from Gilgal to Gibeah of Benjamin. And Saul numbered the people who were present with him, about six hundred men.
Kenaka Samueli anachoka ku Giligala ndi kupita ku Gibeyati ku dziko la Benjamini. Saulo anawerenga anthu amene anali naye ndipo analipo 600.
16 Saul, and Jonathan his son, and the people who were present with them, stayed in Geba of Benjamin: but the Philistines camped in Michmash.
Sauli ndi mwana wake Yonatani pamodzi ndi asilikali amene anali naye aja amakhala ku Geba ku dziko la Benjamini. Koma Afilisti anamanga misasa yawo ku Mikimasi.
17 The spoilers came out of the camp of the Philistines in three companies: one company turned to the way that leads to Ophrah, to the land of Shual;
Ankhondo a Afilisti anatuluka mʼmisasa yawo mʼmagulu atatu. Gulu lina linapita ku Ofiri ku dziko la Suwala.
18 and another company turned the way to Beth Horon; and another company turned toward the border that overlooks the valley of Zeboim.
Gulu lina linalunjika ku Beti-Horoni, ndipo gulu lachitatu linalunjika ku malire oyangʼanana ndi chigwa cha Zeboimu cha ku chipululu.
19 Now there was no blacksmith found throughout all the land of Israel; for the Philistines had said, "Otherwise the Hebrews will make swords or spears."
Nthawi imeneyo nʼkuti mulibe osula zitsulo mʼdziko lonse la Israeli, pakuti Afilisti anati, “Tisawalole Aheberi kudzipangira okha malupanga kapena mikondo!”
20 But all Israel would go down to the Philistines, each to sharpen his plowshare, mattock, axe, and sickle;
Kotero Aisraeli onse amapita kwa Afilisti kukanoletsa mapulawo, makasu, nkhwangwa ndi zikwakwa zawo.
21 and the charge was one payim for the plowshares and for the mattocks, and three shekels for picks and axes and to set the goads.
Mtengo wonolera mapulawo ndi makasu unali zigawo ziwiri za sekeli, mtengo wonolera zisonga ndi nkhwangwa unali gawo limodzi la Sekeli.
22 So on the day of the battle of Michmash there was neither sword nor spear found in the hand of any of the people who were with Saul and Jonathan; but Saul and his son Jonathan had them.
Motero tsiku la nkhondolo panalibe lupanga kapena mkondo mʼdzanja la aliyense amene anatsatira Saulo ndi Yonatani. Koma Saulo ndi Yonatani, iwo okha ndiwo anali ndi zida.
23 The garrison of the Philistines went out to the pass of Michmash.
Tsono gulu lina lankhondo la Chifilisti linapita kukalonda mpata wa Mikimasi.
