< 1 John 3 >

1 See what kind of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God; and we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know him.
Nuuni Xoossaa nayta geetettidi xeegettana mela Xoossay nuna ay mela dosidaakko be7ite. Nuuni tumakka Xoossaa nayta. Ha alamey Xoossaa eronna gisho nunakka erenna.
2 Beloved, now we are children of God, and it is not yet revealed what we will be. We know that, when he is revealed, we will be like him; for we will see him just as he is.
Ta siiqo ishato, ha77i nuuni Xoossaa nayta; nuuni ay hananeekko buroo erettibeenna. Shin Kiristtoosi qoncciya wode nuuni iya daananayssa eroos. I tuma de7eyssa nuuni be7ana.
3 Everyone who has this hope set on him purifies himself, even as he is pure.
Kiristtoosa be7ana gidi ufayssan naagiya oonikka, Kiristtoosi geeshshi gididayssada bana geeshshees.
4 Everyone who sins also commits lawlessness. Sin is lawlessness.
Nagari higge mentho gidiya gisho nagara oothiya ubbay Xoossaa higge menthees.
5 You know that he was revealed to take away sins, and in him is no sin.
Kiristtoosi asaa nagara dhayssanaw qonccidayssa hintte ereeta; iyan nagari baawa.
6 Whoever remains in him does not sin. Whoever sins hasn't seen him, neither knows him.
Kiristtoosan de7iya oonikka nagaran deenna. Qassi nagaran de7iya oonikka iya be7ibeenna woykko eribeenna.
7 Children, let no one lead you astray. He who does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
Ta nayto, hinttena oonikka balethofo. Kiristtoosi xillo gididayssada xillo oothiya oonikka xillo.
8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed, to destroy the works of the devil.
Xalahey koyroppe nagara oothida gisho nagara ubba wode oothiya oonikka Xalahe dabbo. Hessa gisho, Xoossaa Na7ay Xalahe ooso dhayssanaw qonccis.
9 Whoever is born of God does not commit sin, because his seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
Xoossaa na7a gidiya oonikka Xoossaa Ayyaanay iyan de7iya gisho, I ubba wode nagaran deenna. Xoossay iya Aawa gidiya gisho nagaran deenna.
10 In this the children of God are revealed, and the children of the devil. Whoever does not do righteousness is not of God, neither is he who does not love his brother.
Xoossaa nayta giddoninne Xalahe nayta giddon de7iya dummatethay hessan erettees; xillo oothonna asi woykko ba ishaa dosonna asi Xoossaa Na7a gidenna.
11 For this is the message which you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another;
Koyroppe hintte si7ida kiitay, “Issoy issuwa dosanaw bessees” yaagiya kiitaa.
12 unlike Cain, who was of the evil one, and killed his brother. Why did he kill him? Because his works were evil, and his brother's righteous.
Nuuni Qaa7ela mela gidanaw bessenna. Qaa7eli Xalahe dabbo gididi ba ishaa wodhis. I ba ishaa ays wodhide? Iya oosoy iita gidida gishonne iya ishaa oosoy lo77o gidida gisho wodhis.
13 Therefore do not be surprised, brothers, if the world hates you.
Ta ishato, ha alamiya asay hinttena ixxiko malaalettofite.
14 We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. He who does not love remains in death.
Nuuni nu ishata siiqiya gisho, hayqoppe de7o pinnidayssa eroos. Ba ishaa dosonna oonikka hayqo kuyan de7ees.
15 Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has everlasting life remaining in him. (aiōnios g166)
Ba ishaa ixxiya oonikka shemppo wodhees. Qassi shemppo wodhiya oodeskka merinaa de7oy baynnayssa hintte ereeta. (aiōnios g166)
16 By this we know love, because he laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.
Kiristtoosi ba shemppuwa nu gisho aathi immidayssan siiqoy aybeekko nuuni erida. Nukka nu ishata gisho nu shemppuwa aathidi immanaw bessees.
17 But whoever has the world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and closes his heart of compassion against him, how does the love of God remain in him?
Shin dure gidida oonikka metootanchchuwa be7ishe, iyaw qadhettonna ixxiko ba wozanan Xoossaa siiqoy de7ees gaanaw waanidi dandda7ii?
18 Little children, let us not love in word only, neither with the tongue only, but in deed and truth.
Ta nayto, nuuni oosoninne tumatethan nu siiquwa qonccisanaw besseesppe attin coo oda xalaalan woykko doona xalaalan siiqettanaw bessenna.
19 And by this we will know that we are of the truth, and persuade our heart before him,
Nuuni issoy issuwa siiqikko, nu tumaa bagga gideyssa eroos; hessas Xoossaa sinthan yeellatokko.
20 because if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.
Nu wozanay nu bolla pirddiyabaa gidikko, Xoossay nu wozanaappe gita gideyssa eroos; I ubbabaa erees.
21 Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God;
Ta siiqo ishato, nu wozanay nu bolla pirddonnabaa gidikko nuuni Xoossaa sinthan yayyoko.
22 and whatever we ask, we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight.
Nuuni iya kiitaa naagiya gishonne iya ufayssiyabaa oothiya gisho woossiya ubbaa iyappe ekkoos.
23 This is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, even as he commanded us.
Kiristtoosi nuna kiittidayssada Xoossaa Na7aa Yesuus Kiristtoosa sunthan ammananaadanne issoy issuwa siiqanaada Xoossay nuna kiittis.
24 He who keeps his commandments remains in him, and he in him. By this we know that he remains in us, by the Spirit which he gave us.
Xoossaa kiitaa naagiya oonikka Xoossan de7ees; Xoossaykka iyan de7ees. Xoossay nuus immida Geeshsha Ayyaana baggara I nunan de7eyssa eroos.
