< 1 Corinthians 8 >

1 Now concerning things sacrificed to idols: We know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.
Tsopano za chakudya choperekedwa nsembe kwa mafano: Ife tidziwa kuti tonse tili ndi chidziwitso. Komatu chidziwitso chokha chimadzitukumula, koma chikondi ndicho chimapindulitsa.
2 But if anyone thinks that he knows anything, he does not yet know as he ought to know.
Munthu amene amaganiza kuti amadziwa kanthu, ndiye kuti sakudziwa monga mmene amayenera kudziwira.
3 But if anyone loves God, the same is known by him.
Koma munthu amene amakonda Mulungu amadziwika ndi Mulunguyo.
4 Therefore concerning the eating of things sacrificed to idols, we know that no idol is anything in the world, and that there is no God but one.
Choncho kunena za chakudya choperekedwa nsembe kwa mafano; ife tikudziwa kuti mafano si kanthu nʼpangʼonongʼono pomwe pa dziko lapansi, ndiponso kuti palibe Mulungu wina koma mmodzi yekha.
5 For though there are things that are called "gods," whether in the heavens or on earth; as there are many "gods" and many "lords;"
Popeza kuti ngakhale pali yotchedwa milungu, kaya ndi kumwamba kapena pa dziko lapansi (poti ilipodi milungu yambirimbiri ndi ambuye ambirimbiri),
6 yet to us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things, and we for him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we live through him.
koma kwa ife pali Mulungu mmodzi yekha, Atate, zinthu zonse zinachokera mwa Iye ndipo ndife ake. Komanso pali Ambuye mmodzi Yesu Khristu kumene zinthu zonse zinachokera ndipo mwa Iye ife tili ndi moyo.
7 However, not all have this knowledge. But some, being so accustomed to idols until now, eat as of a thing sacrificed to an idol, and their conscience, being weak, is defiled.
Koma saliyense amadziwa zimenezi. Alipo ena ozolowera mafano kwambiri mwakuti akadya chakudya chotere amaganiza kuti chakudyacho chinaperekedwa nsembe kwa mafano. Ndiye poti chikumbumtima chawo nʼchofowoka chimadetsedwadi.
8 But food will not commend us to God. For neither, if we do not eat, are we the worse; nor, if we eat, are we the better.
Koma chakudya sichitisendeza kufupi ndi Mulungu. Tikapanda kudya si vuto, tikadya sitisinthikanso.
9 But be careful that by no means does this liberty of yours become a stumbling block to the weak.
Komabe samalani kuti ufulu wanu ochita zinthu usafike pokhumudwitsa ofowoka.
10 For if someone sees you who have knowledge sitting in an idol's temple, won't his conscience, if he is weak, be emboldened to eat things sacrificed to idols?
Pakuti ngati aliyense wachikumbumtima chofowoka akakuonani achidziwitsonu mukudya mʼnyumba yopembedzera mafano, kodi iyeyo sichidzamulimbitsa mtima kuti azidya chakudya choperekedwa nsembe kwa mafano?
11 And through your knowledge, he who is weak perishes, the brother for whom the Christ died.
Kotero kuti chifukwa cha chidziwitso chanu mʼbale wofowokayu amene chifukwa cha iye, Khristu anafa, wawonongeka chifukwa cha chidziwitso chanu.
12 Thus, sinning against the brothers, and wounding their conscience when it is weak, you sin against Christ.
Mukamachimwira abale anu motere ndikuwawonongera chikumbumtima chawo chofowokacho, mukuchimwira Khristu.
13 Therefore, if food causes my brother to stumble, I will eat no meat forevermore, that I do not cause my brother to stumble. (aiōn g165)
Nʼchifukwa chake ngati zimene ine ndimadya zichititsa mʼbale wanga kugwa mu tchimo, sindidzadyanso chakudyacho kuti mʼbaleyo ndisamuchimwitse. (aiōn g165)
