Psalms 76

1 [For the Chief Musician. On stringed instruments. A Psalm by Asaph. A song.] In Judah, God is known. His name is great in Israel.

Salmo di cantico di Asaf, [dato] al Capo de' Musici, sopra Neghinot IDDIO [è] conosciuto in Giuda; Il suo Nome [è] grande in Israele.

2 And his abode is in Salem, and his lair in Zion.

E il suo tabernacolo è in Salem, E la sua stanza in Sion.

3 There he broke the flaming arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the weapons of war. (Selah)

Quivi ha rotte saette, Archi, scudi, e spade, ed arnesi da guerra. (Sela)

4 Glorious are you, and excellent, more than mountains of game.

Tu [sei] illustre, potente, Più che i monti dei predatori.

5 Valiant men lie plundered, they have slept their last sleep. None of the men of war can lift their hands.

I magnanimi sono stati spogliati, Hanno dormito il sonno loro; E niuno di [quegli] uomini prodi ha saputo trovar le sue mani.

6 At your rebuke, God of Jacob, both chariot and horse are cast into a deep sleep.

O Dio di Giacobbe, E carri e cavalli sono stati stupefatti per lo tuo sgridare.

7 You, even you, are to be feared. Who can stand in your sight when you are angry?

Tu [sei] tremendo; tu, [dico]; E chi durerà davanti a te, dacchè tu ti adiri?

8 You pronounced judgment from heaven. The earth feared, and was silent,

Tu bandisti giudicio dal cielo; La terra temette, e stette cheta.

9 when God arose to judgment, to save all the afflicted ones of the earth. (Selah)

Quando Iddio si levò per [far] giudicio, Per salvar tutti i mansueti della terra. (Sela)

10 Surely the wrath of man praises you. The survivors of your wrath are restrained.

Certamente l'ira degli uomini ti acquista lode; Tu ti cingerai del rimanente dell'ire.

11 Make vows to the LORD your God, and fulfill them. Let all of his neighbors bring presents to him who is to be feared.

Fate voti al Signore Iddio vostro, e adempieteli; Tutti quelli [che sono] d'intorno a lui portino doni al Tremendo.

12 He humbles the spirit of princes. He is feared by the kings of the earth.

Egli vendemmia lo spirito de' principi; [Egli è] tremendo ai re della terra.
