< Psalms 16 >

1 [A Poem by David.] Preserve me, God, for in you do I take refuge.
Dawid mpaebɔ. Bɔ me ho ban, me Nyankopɔn, na wo mu na minya guankɔbea.
2 I said to the LORD, "You are my Lord. Apart from you I have no good thing."
Meka kyerɛɛ Awurade se, “MʼAwurade ne wo; minni ade pa biara ka wo ho.”
3 As for the holy ones who are in the land, they are the excellent ones in whom is all my delight.
Ahotefo a wɔwɔ asase no so de, wɔne anuonyamfo a mʼanigye wɔ wɔn mu.
4 Their sorrows will multiply who pay a dowry for another. Their drink offerings of blood I will not offer, nor take their names on my lips.
Wɔn a wodi anyame afoforo akyi no, wɔn awerɛhow bɛdɔɔso. Merengu mogya nsa mma saa anyame no na meremfa mʼano mmɔ wɔn din.
5 The LORD is the portion of my inheritance and my cup. You made my lot secure.
Awurade, wode me kyɛfa ne me kuruwa ama me; woama me kyɛfa anya bammɔ.
6 The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places. Yes, beautiful is my inheritance.
Mʼahye akɔdeda mmeae a eye ama me; ampa ara mewɔ agyapade a ho yɛ anigye.
7 I will bless the LORD, who has given me counsel. Yes, my heart instructs me in the night seasons.
Mɛkamfo Awurade a otu me fo; na anadwo mpo, me koma kyerɛkyerɛ me.
8 I have put the LORD before me at all times. Because he is at my right hand I will never be upended.
Mihu Awurade wɔ mʼani so daa nyinaa. Esiane sɛ ɔwɔ me nsa nifa nti, merenhinhim da.
9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my tongue rejoices. My body shall also dwell in safety.
Ɛno nti, me kra ani gye, na mede me tɛkrɛma di ahurusi; me nipadua nso bɛhome asomdwoe mu,
10 For you will not abandon my soul in Sheol, neither will you allow your Holy One to see decay. (Sheol h7585)
efisɛ, worennyaw me awufo mu. Na woremma wo Kronkronni no mporɔw. (Sheol h7585)
11 You make known to me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.
Woakyerɛ me nkwagye kwan, na wobɛma mʼani agye wɔ wʼanim, na anigye a ɛrensa da wɔ wo nifa so.
