< Psalms 13 >
1 [For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by David.] How long, LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?
How long, O Jehovah? Will thou forget me forever? How long will thou hide thy face from me?
2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart every day? How long shall my enemy triumph over me?
How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart all the day? How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?
3 Look, and answer me, LORD, my God. Give light to my eyes, lest I sleep in death;
Consider and answer me, O Jehovah my God. Lighten my eyes, lest I sleep the death,
4 Lest my enemy say, "I have prevailed against him," and my adversaries rejoice when I fall.
lest my enemy say, I have prevailed against him, lest my adversaries rejoice when I am moved.
5 But I trust in your loving kindness. My heart rejoices in your salvation.
But I have trusted in thy loving kindness. My heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.
6 I will sing to the LORD, because he has dealt bountifully with me, and I will sing to the name of the LORD Most High.
I will sing to Jehovah because he has dealt bountifully with me.
