Philippians 1
1 Paul and Timothy, servants of Christ Jesus; To all the saints in Christ Jesus who are at Philippi, with the overseers and deacons:
Павел та Тимотей, слуги Ісуса Христа, до всїх сьвятих у Христї Ісусї, що в Филипах, з єпископами і дияконами:
2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Благодать вам і мир від Бога, Отця нашого, і Господа Ісуса Христа.
3 I thank my God whenever I remember you,
Дякую Богу моєму при всякому споминї про вас,
4 always in every prayer of mine for all of you, making my requests with joy,
(завсїди в кожній молитві моїй за всїх вас з радощами молячись, )
5 for your partnership in the Good News from the first day until now;
за товаришуваннє ваше в благовістї від первого дня й досі,
6 being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Christ Jesus.
впевнившись про те, що хто розпочав у вас добре діло, звершувати ме аж до дня Ісуса Христа.
7 It is even right for me to think this way about all of you, because I have you in my heart, because, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the Good News, you all are partakers with me of grace.
Яко ж праведно єсть мені се думати про всїх вас, тим що маю вас у серцї і у вязницї моїй і в обороні і в утвердженню благовістя, вас усїх, спільників моїх благодати.
8 For God is my witness, how I long after all of you in the tender mercies of Christ Jesus.
Бог бо менї сьвідок, як я люблю усїх вас по милости Ісус-Христовій.
9 This I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and all discernment;
І про се молюсь, щоб любов ваша ще більш та й бїльш достаткувала у розумі і у всякому чутті,
10 so that you may approve the things that are excellent; that you may be pure and blameless for the Day of Christ;
щоб допевнитись вам, що лучче, і щоб були чисті і непорушені в день Христа,
11 being filled with the fruit of righteousness, which are through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
сповнені овощами праведности через Ісуса Христа на славу й хвалу Божу.
12 Now I desire to have you know, brothers, that the things which happened to me have turned out rather to the progress of the Good News;
Хочу ж, щоб ви, браттє, зрозуміли, що те, що сталось менї, більш на користь благовістя вийшло,
13 so that it became evident to the whole praetorian guard, and to all the rest, that my bonds are in Christ;
так що кайдани мої в Христї обявились у всьому судищі і по всїх инших (місцях),
14 and that most of the brothers in the Lord, being confident through my bonds, are more abundantly bold to speak the word without fear.
і більше братів у Господї, упевнившись кайданами моїми, ще більш осьмілились без страху глаголати слово.
15 Some indeed preach Christ even out of envy and strife, and some also out of good will.
Деякі з зависти та перекору, а инші з доброї волї проповідують Христа.
16 The latter out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the Good News.
Инші з перекору проповідують Христа, не щиро, думаючи завдати горя кайданам моїм,
17 The former insincerely preach Christ from selfish ambition, thinking that they add affliction to my chains.
а другі з любови, знаючи, що я за оборону благовістя (в кайданах) лежу.
18 What does it matter? Only that in every way, whether out of false motives or in truth, Christ is proclaimed. I rejoice in this, yes, and will rejoice.
Що ж бо? тільки все таки, чи для виду, чи по правді, Христос проповідуєть ся; і я сим радуюсь і радувати мусь.
19 For I know that this will turn out for my deliverance, through your petition and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,
Знаю бо, що се обернеть ся на моє спасеннє вашою молитвою і поміччю Духа Ісус-Христового,
20 according to my earnest expectation and hope, that I will in no way be disappointed, but with all boldness, as always, now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life, or by death.
по дожиданню і надїї моїй, що нї в чому не осоромлюсь, а з усією сьміливостю, як завсїди, так і тепер звеличить ся Христос у тїлї моїм, чи то життем, чи то смертю.
21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
Бо життє менї Христос, а смерть надбаннє.
22 But if I live on in the flesh, this will bring fruit from my work; yet I do not make known what I will choose.
Коли ж жити менї тілом, се минї овощ дїла, то що й вибрати, не знаю.
23 But I am in a dilemma between the two, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better.
Тісно бо менї від обох, маючи бажаннє розвязатись (із тілом), та з Христом бути; багато бо воно лучче.
24 Yet, to remain in the flesh is more needful for your sake.
А щоб пробувати в тїлї, се нужнїш ради вас.
25 And since I am persuaded of this, I know that I will remain and continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith,
І певно знаю, що зістанусь (у тїлї) і пробувати му з усїма вами на вашу користь і радість віри,
26 that your rejoicing may abound in Christ Jesus in me through my presence with you again.
щоб ваша похвала много достаткувала в Христї Ісусї, як прийду знов до вас.
27 Only let your manner of life be worthy of the Good News of Christ, that, whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your state, that you stand firm in one spirit, with one soul striving for the faith of the Good News;
Тільки достойно благовістя Христового живіть, щоб, чи я прийду та побачу вас, чи то й не буду між вами, почув про вас, що стоїте в одному дусї, і однією душею боретесь за віру євангелську,
28 and in nothing frightened by the adversaries, which is for them a proof of destruction, but to you of salvation, and that from God.
і не жахаючись нї в чому від противників; се їм явний знав погибелі, а вам спасення, і воно від Бога.
29 Because it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in him, but also to suffer on his behalf,
Бо вам дано, що до Христа, не тільки в Него вірувати, та задля Него й страждати,
30 having the same conflict which you saw in me, and now hear is in me.
маючи ту ж боротьбу, яку в менї виділи, і тепер чуєте про мене.
