Numbers 35
1 The LORD spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying,
Und Jehovah redete zu Mose im Flachland Moabs am Jordan bei Jericho und sprach:
2 "Command the children of Israel that they give to the Levites of the inheritance of their possession cities to dwell in; and you shall give suburbs for the cities around them to the Levites.
Gebiete den Söhnen Israels, sie sollen den Leviten von dem Erbe ihres Eigentums Städte zum Wohnen geben: und ein Weichbild für die Städte rings um sie her sollt ihr den Leviten geben.
3 The cities shall they have to dwell in; and their suburbs shall be for their livestock, and for their substance, and for all their animals.
Und die Städte sollen sie haben zum Wohnen, und ihre Weichbilder sollen sie haben für ihr Vieh und ihre Habe und für all ihre anderen Tiere.
4 "The suburbs of the cities, which you shall give to the Levites, shall be from the wall of the city and outward one thousand seven hundred twenty-two feet six inches around it.
Und die Weichbilder der Städte, die ihr den Leviten geben sollt, sollen von der Mauer der Stadt ringsum auswärts tausend Ellen sein.
5 You shall measure outside of the city for the east side three thousand four hundred forty-five feet, and for the south side three thousand four hundred forty-five feet, and for the west side three thousand four hundred forty-five feet, and for the north side three thousand four hundred forty-five feet, the city being in the midst. This shall be to them the suburbs of the cities.
Und ihr sollt außerhalb der Stadt messen die Seite gegen Osten zweitausend nach der Elle, und die Seite gegen Mittag zweitausend nach der Elle, und die Seite nach dem Meere zu zweitausend nach der Elle, und die Seite gegen Mitternacht zweitausend nach der Elle, und die Stadt in der Mitte. Das soll ihnen das Weichbild der Städte sein.
6 "The cities which you shall give to the Levites, they shall be the six cities of refuge, which you shall give for the manslayer to flee to: and besides them you shall give forty-two cities.
Und die Städte, die ihr den Leviten geben sollet, sollen sein die sechs Freistädte, die ihr gebet, daß dahin fliehe der Totschläger; und außer denselben sollt ihr zweiundvierzig Städte geben.
7 All the cities which you shall give to the Levites shall be forty-eight cities together with their suburbs.
Alle die Städte, die ihr den Leviten geben sollt, sollen achtundvierzig Städte sein, sie selbst und ihre Weichbilder.
8 Concerning the cities which you shall give of the possession of the children of Israel, from the many you shall take many; and from the few you shall take few: everyone according to his inheritance which he inherits shall give of his cities to the Levites."
Und die Städte, die ihr von dem Eigentum der Söhne Israels gebet, sollt ihr von dem, der viel hat, viel, und von dem, der wenig hat, wenig nehmen. Jeder Mann soll nach Verhältnis seines Erbes, das er ererbte, von seinen Städten an die Leviten geben.
9 The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
Und Jehovah redete zu Mose und sprach:
10 "Speak to the children of Israel, and tell them, 'When you pass over the Jordan into the land of Canaan,
Rede zu den Söhnen Israels und sprich zu ihnen: Wenn ihr über den Jordan in das Land Kanaan setzet,
11 then you shall appoint you cities to be cities of refuge for you, that the manslayer who kills any person unwittingly may flee there.
So leset euch Städte aus, die Freistädte für euch sein sollen, daß dahin fliehe ein Totschläger, der jemand aus Versehen erschlagen hat.
12 The cities shall be to you for refuge from the avenger, that the manslayer not die, until he stands before the congregation for judgment.
Und die Städte sollen euch zur Freistätte sein vor dem Bluträcher, auf daß der Totschläger nicht sterbe, bis er vor der Gemeinde zu Gericht gestanden.
13 The cities which you shall give shall be for you six cities of refuge.
Und die Städte, die ihr geben sollt, sollen sechs Freistädte für euch sein.
14 You shall give three cities beyond the Jordan, and you shall give three cities in the land of Canaan; they shall be cities of refuge.
Drei der Städte sollt ihr diesseits des Jordans geben und drei Städte sollt ihr geben im Lande Kanaan; Freistädte sollen sie sein.
15 For the children of Israel, and for the stranger and for the foreigner living among them, shall these six cities be for refuge; that everyone who kills any person unwittingly may flee there.
Für die Söhne Israels und für den Fremdling und den Beisaßen in ihrer Mitte sollen diese sechs Freistädte sein, daß dahin fliehe ein jeder, der jemand aus Versehen erschlagen hat.
16 "'But if he struck him with an instrument of iron, so that he died, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.
Und wenn einer mit einem eisernen Gerät ihn geschlagen hat und er stirbt, der ist ein Mörder: Und der Mörder soll des Todes sterben.
17 If he struck him with a stone in the hand, by which a man may die, and he died, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.
Und hat er ihn mit einem Stein der Hand, wovon man sterben kann, geschlagen, und er starb, so ist er ein Mörder: Der Mörder soll des Todes sterben.
18 Or if he struck him with a weapon of wood in the hand, by which a man may die, and he died, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.
Oder hat er ihn mit einem hölzernen Gerät der Hand, davon man sterben kann, geschlagen, und er starb, so ist er ein Mörder: Der Mörder soll des Todes sterben.
19 The avenger of blood shall himself put the murderer to death: when he meets him, he shall put him to death.
Der Bluträcher töte den Mörder. Wo er auf ihn stößt, soll er ihn töten.
20 If he thrust him of hatred, or hurled at him, lying in wait, so that he died,
Und hat er ihn aus Haß gestoßen, oder durch Nachstellung auf ihn geworfen, und er starb,
21 or in enmity struck him with his hand, so that he died; he who struck him shall surely be put to death. He is a murderer, the murderer must surely be put to death; the avenger of blood shall put the murderer to death when he meets him.
Oder hat er ihn aus Feindschaft mit seiner Hand geschlagen, und er starb, so soll der Schläger des Todes sterben, er ist ein Mörder. Der Bluträcher soll den Mörder töten, wo er auf ihn stößt.
22 "'But if he thrust him suddenly without enmity, or hurled on him anything without lying in wait,
Stößt er ihn aber unversehens ohne Feindschaft, oder wirft er auf ihn irgend etwas, ohne Nachstellung,
23 or with any stone, by which a man may die, not seeing him, and cast it on him, so that he died, and he was not his enemy, neither sought his harm;
Oder trifft ihn mit irgendeinem Stein, der ihn töten kann ohne daß er es sieht, und er fällt auf ihn, und er stirbt; er war ihm aber nicht feind und suchte nicht sein Übel,
24 then the congregation shall judge between the striker and the avenger of blood according to these ordinances;
So soll die Gemeinde richten zwischen dem, der geschlagen hat und dem Bluträcher nach diesen Rechten.
25 and the congregation shall deliver the manslayer out of the hand of the avenger of blood, and the congregation shall restore him to his city of refuge, where he was fled: and he shall dwell in it until the death of the high priest, who was anointed with the holy oil.
Und die Gemeinde errette den Totschläger aus der Hand des Bluträchers, und die Gemeinde bringe ihn zurück zur Freistadt, wohin er geflohen war, und er wohne darin bis zum Tode des Hohenpriesters, den man mit heiligem Öle gesalbt.
26 "'But if the manslayer shall at any time go beyond the border of his city of refuge, where he flees,
Geht aber der Totschläger heraus über die Grenze der Freistadt, dahin er geflohen ist,
27 and the avenger of blood find him outside of the border of his city of refuge, and the avenger of blood kill the manslayer; he shall not be guilty of blood,
Und findet ihn der Bluträcher außerhalb der Grenze der Freistadt, und schlägt der Bluträcher den Totschläger zu Tode, so hat er keine Blutschuld.
28 because he should have remained in his city of refuge until the death of the high priest: but after the death of the high priest the manslayer shall return into the land of his possession.
Denn in der Freistadt soll er wohnen bis zum Tod des Hohenpriesters; nach des Hohenpriesters Tod aber mag der Totschläger in sein Landeseigentum zurückkehren.
29 "'These things shall be for a statute and ordinance to you throughout your generations in all your dwellings.
Und dies soll Satzung des Rechtes für euch sein bei euren Geschlechtern in allen euren Wohnsitzen.
30 "'Whoever kills any person, the murderer shall be slain at the mouth of witnesses: but one witness shall not testify against any person that he die.
Wenn irgendeiner jemand erschlägt, soll man den Totschläger totschlagen nach dem Munde von Zeugen. Ein Zeuge aber kann nicht aussagen wider eine Seele, so daß sie sterbe.
31 "'Moreover you shall take no ransom for the life of a murderer who is guilty of death; but he shall surely be put to death.
Und ihr sollt keine Sühne für die Seele eines Mörders nehmen, der des Todes schuldig ist; sondern er soll des Todes sterben.
32 "'You shall take no ransom for him who is fled to his city of refuge, that he may come again to dwell in the land, until the death of the priest.
Und ihr sollt keine Sühne nehmen von dem, der in die Freistadt geflohen, daß er zurückkehrete, im Lande zu wohnen, vor dem Tode des Priesters.
33 "'So you shall not pollute the land in which you are: for blood, it pollutes the land; and no expiation can be made for the land for the blood that is shed in it, but by the blood of him who shed it.
Auf daß ihr das Land, darin ihr seid, nicht entheiliget; denn das Blut ist es, welches das Land entheiligt, und das Land wird nicht gesühnt für das Blut, das in ihm vergossen worden, außer durch das Blut dessen, der es vergossen hat.
34 You shall not defile the land which you inhabit, in the midst of which I dwell: for I, the LORD, dwell in the midst of the children of Israel.'"
Und du sollst nicht verunreinigen das Land, in dem ihr wohnet, in dessen Mitte Ich Selbst wohne; denn Ich, Jehovah, wohne inmitten der Söhne Israels.
