< Matthew 12 >

1 At that time, Jesus went on the Sabbath day through the grain fields. His disciples were hungry and began to pluck heads of grain and to eat.
Homeda bi, Yesu ne nʼasuafoɔ no kɔfaa aburoofuo bi mu. Wɔnam aburoofuo no mu no, ɛkɔm dee asuafoɔ no ma wɔpempanee aburoo no bi weeɛ.
2 But the Pharisees, when they saw it, said to him, "Look, your disciples do what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath."
Farisifoɔ bi hunuu deɛ asuafoɔ no reyɛ no, anyɛ wɔn abodwo. Wɔbisaa Yesu sɛ, “Woahunu sɛ wʼasuafoɔ no abu Homeda mmara no so?”
3 But he said to them, "Have you not read what David did, when he and his companions were hungry;
Yesu nso bisaa wɔn sɛ, “Monkenkanee deɛ Ɔhene Dawid yɛeɛ, ɛberɛ a ɛkɔm dee ɔne wɔn a na wɔka ne ho no?
4 how he entered into the house of God, and they ate the show bread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for those who were with him, but only for the priests?
Wɔkɔɔ Onyankopɔn fie kɔdii burodo a wɔde abɔ afɔdeɛ a anka wɔnni ho kwan sɛ wɔdi, agye ɔsɔfoɔ nko ara no. Ɛno nso yɛ mmara so buo?
5 Or have you not read in the Law, that on the Sabbath day the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath and are blameless?
Na monnsane nkane mfirii Mose mmara no mu, sɛ asɔfoɔ a wɔyɛ asɔrefie adwuma no tumi yɛ adwuma Homeda nso?
6 But I tell you that something greater than the temple is here.
Mereka ama moate aseɛ sɛ, deɛ ɔkyɛn asɔrefie no wɔ ha!
7 But if you had known what this means, 'I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned the innocent.
Sɛ moate asɛm a ɛse, ‘Mmɔborɔhunu na mepɛ na ɛnyɛ afɔrebɔ’ no ase yie a, anka moremmu wɔn a wɔnni fɔ no fɔ.
8 For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath."
Na me, Onipa Ba no, meyɛ Homeda no wura”.
9 And he departed from there and went into their synagogue.
Yesu firii deɛ ɔwɔ hɔ kɔɔ hyiadan mu.
10 And look, there was a man with a withered hand. They asked him, "Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath day?" that they might accuse him.
Ɔhunuu ɔbarima bi wɔ dan mu hɔ a na ne nsa baako awu. Farisifoɔ no bisaa Yesu sɛ, “Enti mmara ma ho kwan sɛ obi sa yadeɛ Homeda anaa?” Wɔbisaa yei sɛdeɛ ɛbɛyɛ a wɔbɛnya ɛkwan atoto nʼano na wɔakye no!
11 And he said to them, "Which one of you who has one sheep, if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will not take hold of it and lift it out?
Yesu buaa wɔn sɛ, “Mo mu hwan na ɔwɔ odwan baako na sɛ ɔkɔtɔ amena mu Homeda a, ɔrenyi no? Ɛkwan biara so wobɛkɔ akɔyi no.
12 Of how much more value then is a person than a sheep. Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath."
Onipa som bo sene odwan! Yei enti ɛwɔ ho kwan sɛ wɔyɛ papa Homeda.”
13 Then he told the man, "Stretch out your hand." And he stretched it out, and it was restored whole, just like the other.
Afei, Yesu ka kyerɛɛ deɛ ne nsa awu no sɛ, “Tene wo nsa!” Ɔyarefoɔ no tenee ne nsa. Ɔtenee ne nsa no, ahoɔden baa mu ma ɛyɛɛ sɛ baako no.
14 But the Pharisees went out, and conspired against him, how they might destroy him.
Farisifoɔ no firii adi kɔtuu sɛdeɛ wɔbɛkyere Yesu akum no no ho agyina.
15 But Jesus, perceiving that, withdrew from there. Large crowds followed him, and he healed them all,
Esiane sɛ na ɔnim ɛpɔ a wɔrebɔ wɔ ne ho no enti, ɔfirii hyiadan no mu maa nnipadɔm dii nʼakyi. Ɔsaa wɔn mu ayarefoɔ no nyinaa yadeɛ.
16 and commanded them that they should not make him known.
Nanso, ɔbɔɔ wɔn ano sɛ wɔmmmɔ nʼanwanwadeɛ a ɔyɛeɛ no ho dawuro.
17 This was to fulfill what had been spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying,
Na nkɔm a Odiyifoɔ Yesaia hyɛɛ no aba mu sɛ:
18 "Look, my servant whom I have chosen; my beloved in whom my soul delights. I will put my Spirit on him; and he will proclaim justice to the nations.
“Monhwɛ mʼakoa a mayi no, deɛ medɔ no a me kra ani sɔ no, mede me honhom mɛgu no so, na wabu amanaman atɛn.
19 He will not quarrel, nor shout; nor will anyone hear his voice in the streets.
Ɔrenko, na ɔrenteateam. Na obi rente ne nne abɔntene so!
20 He won't break a bruised reed. And he won't put out a smoldering wick, until he leads justice to victory.
Ɔrensɛe demmire ɛyɛ mmerɛ no. Kanea ntoma a ɛnnɛre yie no, ɔrennum; kɔsi sɛ ɔnam atɛntenenee so de nkonimdie aba.
21 And in his name the coastlands will hope."
Ne din bɛyɛ amanaman nyinaa anidasoɔ.”
22 Then one possessed by a demon, blind and mute, was brought to him and he healed him, so that the mute man spoke and saw.
Afei, wɔde obi a ɔyɛ mumu yɛ onifirani na honhommɔne nso wɔ ne so brɛɛ Yesu sɛ ɔnsa no yadeɛ. Yesu saa no yadeɛ ma ɔkasaeɛ sane hunuu adeɛ.
23 And all the crowds were amazed, and said, "Can this be the son of David?"
Nnipadɔm a wɔwɔ hɔ no ho dwirii wɔn. Wɔkaa sɛ, “Ɛbɛtumi aba sɛ Yesu yi yɛ Dawid Ba no, Agyenkwa no anaa?”
24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, "This man does not cast out demons, except by Beelzebul, the prince of the demons."
Nanso, Farisifoɔ no tee anwanwadeɛ a Yesu yɛeɛ no, wɔkaa sɛ, “Ɔnam ahonhommɔne nyinaa panin Ɔbonsam, Beelsebul no so na ɔtu ahonhommɔne.”
25 And knowing their thoughts, he said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.
Yesu hunuu wɔn adwene, maa wɔn mmuaeɛ sɛ, “Ahemman biara a ɛdi mpaapaemu no ntumi nnyina. Saa ara nso na kuro anaa efie biara a ɛdi mpaapaemu no ntumi nnyina.
26 And if Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand?
Na sɛ ɔbonsam nso ko tia ne ho a, ɛbɛyɛ dɛn na nʼahennie agyina?
27 If I by Beelzebul cast out demons, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges.
28 But if I by the Spirit of God cast out demons, then the Kingdom of God has come upon you.
Na sɛ mede Onyankopɔn honhom na ɛtu ahonhommɔne deɛ a, na Onyankopɔn Ahennie aba mo so.
29 Or how can one enter into the house of the strong man, and carry off his possessions, unless he first bind the strong man? And then he will plunder his house.
“Obi ntumi nkɔ ɔhoɔdenfoɔ fie mu nkɔwia no, agye sɛ, onipa ko no di ɛkan de ahoma kyekyere no.
30 "He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me, scatters.
“Obiara a ɔnni mʼafa no, tia me. Na deɛ ɔne me mmoaboa ano no hwete mu.
31 Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.
Mereka akyerɛ mo sɛ, wɔde bɔne ne abususɛm nyinaa bɛkyɛ nnipa, nanso abususɛm a ɛtia Honhom Kronkron no deɛ, wɔremfa nkyɛ.
32 And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, neither in this age, nor in that which is to come. (aiōn g165)
Deɛ ɔbɛkasa atia Onipa Ba no, wɔde bɛkyɛ no. Nanso, deɛ ɔbɛkasa atia Honhom Kronkron no deɛ, wɔremfa nkyɛ no da biara da. (aiōn g165)
33 "Either make the tree good, and its fruit good, or make the tree corrupt, and its fruit corrupt; for the tree is known by its fruit.
“Dua biara aba na wɔde hunu ne su. Dua pa so aba pa na dua bɔne nso so aba bɔne.
34 You offspring of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.
Awɔ mma! Ɛbɛyɛ dɛn na abɔnefoɔ sɛ mo atumi aka deɛ ɛyɛ ho asɛm? Deɛ ayɛ akoma ma abu so no na ano ka.
35 The good person out of his good treasure brings out good things, and the evil person out of his evil treasure brings out evil things.
Onipa pa anom asɛm da nnepa a ɛwɔ ne mu no adi. Saa ara na onipa bɔne nso anom asɛm da nnebɔne a ɛwɔ ne mu no adi.
36 But I tell you that every careless word that people speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.
Mereka makyerɛ mo sɛ, Atemmuo da no, asɛnhunu biara a obi aka no, ɔbɛbu ho akonta.
37 For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned."
Wʼanomu asɛm so na wɔnam bɛbu wo bem anaa ɛfɔ”.
38 Then certain of the scribes and Pharisees said to him, "Teacher, we want to see a sign from you."
Ɛda bi, Yudafoɔ mpanimfoɔ bi a Farisifoɔ bi ka wɔn ho baa Yesu nkyɛn bɛka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, ɔnyɛ nsɛnkyerɛnneɛ bi nkyerɛ wɔn.
39 But he answered and said to them, "An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, but no sign will be given it but the sign of Jonah the prophet.
Yesu buaa wɔn sɛ, “Ɔman a wɔyɛ abɔnefoɔ a wɔnni gyidie na wɔpɛ sɛ wɔhunu nsɛnkyerɛnneɛ. Nanso, wɔrenhunu nsɛnkyerɛnneɛ biara ka Odiyifoɔ Yona deɛ no ho.
40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
Na sɛdeɛ Yona kɔdii bonsu yam nnansa no, saa ara na ɛsɛ sɛ Onipa Ba no kɔdi asase mu nnansa.
41 The people of Nineveh will stand up in the judgment with this generation, and will condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and look, something greater than Jonah is here.
Atemmuo da no, Ninewe mmarima bɛsɔre atia nnɛmma yi na wɔabu mo fɔ ɛfiri sɛ, ɛberɛ a Yona kaa asɛmpa no, wɔnuu wɔn ho. Nanso, deɛ ɔsene Yona wɔ ha.
42 The queen of the south will rise up in the judgment with this generation, and will condemn it, for she came from a distant land to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and look, someone greater than Solomon is here.
Atemmuo da no, Seba Ɔhemmaa bɛsɔre atia ɔman yi ɛfiri sɛ, ɔfiri asase ano nohoa bɛtiee Salomo nyansa nsɛm. Nanso, deɛ ɔsene Salomo no wɔ ha.
43 But the unclean spirit, when he is gone out of the person, passes through waterless places, seeking rest, and does not find it.
“Saa ɔman debɔneyɛfoɔ yi te sɛ obi a honhommɔne wɔ ne soɔ. Sɛ honhommɔne no tu firi ne mu a, ɛkyinkyini, hwehwɛ homebea nanso, ɛnnya bi.
44 Then he says, 'I will return into my house from which I came out,' and when he has come back, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order.
Sɛ ɛba saa a, deɛ honhommɔne no ka ne sɛ, ‘Mɛsane akɔ onipa a mefirii ne mu baeɛ no mu bio.’ Ɔsane kɔ onipa no mu na ɔhunu sɛ ne mu da mpan, na wɔasiesie hɔ fɛfɛɛfɛ a,
45 Then he goes, and takes with himself seven other spirits more evil than he is, and they enter in and dwell there. The last state of that person becomes worse than the first. Even so will it be also to this evil generation."
ɔsane nʼakyi kɔfa ahonhommɔne afoforɔ nson a wɔyɛ den kyɛn no ba ma wɔn nyinaa bɛtena ne mu. Yei ma onipa no asetena no sɛe kyɛn ne kane asetena no.”
46 While he was yet speaking to the crowds, look, his mother and his brothers stood outside, seeking to speak to him.
Ɛberɛ a Yesu reka asɛmpa akyerɛ nnipadɔm wɔ efie bi mu no, ne maame ne ne nuanom bɛgyinaa afikyire pɛɛ sɛ wɔne no kasa.
47 Then one said to him, "Look, your mother and your brothers stand outside, seeking to speak to you."
Nnipa a wɔwɔ hɔ no mu baako kɔka kyerɛɛ Yesu sɛ, “Wo maame ne wo nuanom gyina afikyire hɔ pɛ sɛ wɔne wo kasa”.
48 But he answered him who spoke to him, "Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?"
Yesu kaa sɛ, “Hwan ne me maame? Ɛhefoɔ ne me nuanom?”
49 And he stretched out his hand towards his disciples, and said, "Look, my mother and my brothers.
Ɔkaa saa wieeɛ no, ɔde ne nsa kyerɛɛ nnipadɔm no, ka kyerɛɛ nʼasuafoɔ no sɛ, “Yeinom ne me maame ne me nuanom”.
50 For whoever does the will of my Father who is in heaven, he is my brother, and sister, and mother."
Ɔsane kaa bio sɛ, “Obiara a ɔbɛyɛ mʼagya a ɔwɔ ɔsoro no apɛdeɛ no, ɔno ne me nuabarima, ne me nuabaa ne me maame”.
