< Mark 6 >

1 And he went out from there and came into his own country, and his disciples followed him.
ⲁ̅ⲁϥⲉⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ̅ⲡⲙⲁ ⲉⲧⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲩ ⲁϥⲉⲓ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ̈ ⲉⲧⲉϥⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲟⲩⲁϩⲟⲩ ⲛ̅ⲥⲱϥ ⲛ̅ϭⲓⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ
2 And when the Sabbath had come, he began to teach in the synagogue, and many hearing him were astonished, saying, "Where did this man get these things?" and, "What is the wisdom that is given to this man, that such mighty works come about by his hands?
ⲃ̅ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉⲡⲥⲁⲃⲃⲁⲧⲟⲛ ⲇⲉ ϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲁϥⲁⲣⲭⲉⲥⲑⲁⲓ ⲛ̅ϯⲥⲃⲱ ϩⲛ̅ⲧⲥⲩⲛⲁⲅⲱⲅⲏ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲉⲩⲥⲱⲧⲙ̅ ⲁⲩⲣ̅ϣⲡⲏⲣⲉ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲁⲡⲁⲓ̈ ϭⲛ̅ⲛⲁⲓ̈ ⲧⲱⲛ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲟⲩ ⲧⲉ ⲧⲁⲓ̈ⲥⲟⲫⲓⲁ ⲛ̅ⲧⲁⲩⲧⲁⲁⲥ ⲙ̅ⲡⲁⲓ̈. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲓ̈ϭⲟⲙ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲓ̅ϭⲟⲧ ⲉⲧⲉⲣⲉⲡⲁⲓ̈ ⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲟⲩ
3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and brother of James, Josi, Judas, and Simon? Are not his sisters here with us?" They were offended at him.
ⲅ̅ⲙ̅ⲡⲁⲓ̈ ⲁⲙ ⲡⲉ ⲡϩⲁⲙϣⲉ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲣⲓⲁ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲥⲟⲛ ⲛ̅ⲓ̈ⲁⲕⲱⲃⲟⲥ ⲛⲙ̅ⲓ̈ⲱⲥⲏ ⲛⲙ̅ⲓ̈ⲟⲩⲇⲁ ⲛⲙ̅ⲥⲓⲙⲱⲛ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉϥⲥⲱⲛⲉ ⲛⲉⲩⲛ̅ⲡⲉⲉⲓⲙⲁ ⲁⲛ ϩⲁϩⲧⲏⲛ ⲁⲩⲥⲕⲁⲛⲇⲁⲗⲓⲍⲉ ϩⲣⲁⲓ̈ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧϥ̅.
4 Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor, except in his own country, and among his own relatives, and in his own house."
ⲇ̅ⲡⲉϫⲉⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ. ϫⲉ ⲙ̅ⲙⲛ̅ⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲥⲏϣ ⲉⲓⲙⲏⲧⲓ ϩⲛ̅ⲧⲉϥⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ϩⲛ̅ⲛⲉϥⲥⲩⲅⲅⲉⲛⲏⲥ ⲛⲙ̅ⲡⲉϥⲏⲉⲓ.
5 And he could do no mighty work there, except that he laid his hands on a few sick people, and healed them.
ⲉ̅ⲙ̅ⲡϥ̅ⲣ̅ⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲛ̅ϭⲟⲙ ⲙ̅ⲡⲙⲁ ⲉⲧⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲩ ⲛ̅ⲥⲁϩⲟⲉⲓⲛⲉ ⲉⲩϣⲱⲛⲉ ⲁϥⲕⲁⲧⲟⲟⲧϥ̅ ϩⲓϫⲱⲟⲩ ⲁϥⲧⲁⲗϭⲟⲟⲩ.
6 And he was amazed because of their unbelief. And he went around the villages teaching.
ⲋ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲩⲣ̅ϣⲡⲏⲣⲉ ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲧⲉⲩⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲁⲧⲛⲁϩⲧⲉ ⲛⲉϥⲕⲱⲧⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲛⲉⲧⲙⲉ ⲉϥϯⲥⲃⲱ
7 And he called to himself the twelve, and began to send them out two by two; and he gave them authority over the unclean spirits.
ⲍ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲡⲙⲛⲧⲥ̅ⲛⲟⲟⲩⲥ ⲁϥⲁⲣⲭⲉⲥⲑⲁⲓ ⲛ̅ϫⲟⲟⲩⲥⲉ ⲥⲛⲁⲩ ⲥⲛⲁⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥϯ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲝⲟⲩⲥⲓⲁ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲛⲉⲡⲛ̅ⲁ̅ ⲛ̅ⲁⲕⲁⲑⲁⲣⲧⲟⲛ
8 And he commanded them that they should take nothing for their journey, except a staff only: no bread, no pack, no money in their belts,
ⲏ̅ⲁϥϩⲱⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲟⲟⲧⲟⲩ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲛⲛⲉⲩϥⲓⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲛⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲩ ⲉⲧⲉϩⲓⲏ ⲛ̅ⲥⲁⲟⲩϭⲉⲣⲱⲃ ⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲧⲉ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲟⲉⲓⲕ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲡⲏⲣⲁ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ϩⲟⲙⲛ̅ⲧ ⲉⲛⲉⲩⲙⲟϫϩ
9 but to wear sandals, and not to put on two tunics.
ⲑ̅ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲉⲣⲉⲛⲉⲩⲥⲁⲛⲇⲁⲗⲓⲟⲛ ⲟⲧϩ ⲉⲣⲁⲧⲟⲩ. ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲛ̅ⲥⲉⲧⲙ̅ϯϣⲧⲏⲛ ⲥⲛ̅ⲧⲉ ϩⲓⲱⲟⲩ
10 And he said to them, "Wherever you enter into a house, stay there until you depart from there.
ⲓ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲡⲏⲉⲓ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϭⲱ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧϥ̅ ϣⲁⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲉⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ̅ⲡⲙⲁ ⲉⲧⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲩ
11 And if any place will not receive you or listen to you, as you depart from there, shake off the dust that is under your feet for a testimony against them."
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲙⲁ ⲉⲧⲉⲛϥ̅ⲛⲁϣⲉⲡⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ̅ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲁⲛ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲛ̅ⲥⲉⲧⲙ̅ⲥⲱⲧⲙ̅ ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲛ̅ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲛⲁⲉ͡ⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ̅ⲡⲙⲁ ⲉⲧⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲩ ⲛⲟⲩϩⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙ̅ⲡϣⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲉⲧϩⲁⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲧⲟⲩⲉⲣⲏⲧⲉ ⲉⲩⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲣⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ.
12 So they went out and proclaimed that all should repent.
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲟⲩⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ⲁⲩⲕⲏⲣⲩⲥⲥⲉ ϫⲉ ⲉⲩⲉⲙⲉⲧⲁⲛⲟⲉⲓ
13 They cast out many demons, and anointed many with oil who were sick, and healed them.
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ϩⲁϩ ⲛ̅ⲇⲁⲓⲙⲟⲛⲓⲟⲛ ⲁⲩⲛⲟϫⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲉⲛⲕⲉⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲉⲩϣⲱⲛⲉ ⲁⲩⲧⲁϩⲥⲟⲩ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉϩ ⲁⲩⲧⲁⲗϭⲟⲟⲩ.
14 King Herod heard this, for his name had become known, and he said, "John the Baptist has risen from the dead, and therefore these powers are at work in him."
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲥⲱⲧⲙ̅ ⲛ̅ϭⲓϩⲏⲣⲱⲇⲏⲥ ⲡⲣⲣⲟ ⲁⲡⲉϥⲣⲁⲛ ⲅⲁⲣ ϯⲥⲟⲉⲓⲧ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲓ̈ⲱϩⲁⲛⲛⲏⲥ ⲡⲉⲧϯⲃⲁⲡⲧⲓⲥⲙⲁ ⲁϥⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ϩⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲧⲙⲟⲟⲩⲧ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲡⲁⲓ̈ ⲛ̅ϭⲟⲙ ⲉⲛⲉⲣⲅⲓ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧϥ̅.
15 But others said, "He is Elijah." Others said, "He is a prophet, like one of the prophets."
ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ϩⲉⲛⲕⲟⲟⲩⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ϩⲏⲗⲉⲓⲁⲥ ⲡⲉ ϩⲉⲛⲕⲟⲟⲩⲉ ⲇⲉ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲡⲉ ⲛ̅ⲑⲉ ⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲁ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ
16 But Herod, when he heard this, said, "This is John, whom I beheaded. He has risen."
ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲥⲱⲧⲙ̅ ⲇⲉ ⲛ̅ϭⲓϩⲏⲣⲱⲇⲏⲥ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲓ̈ⲱϩⲁⲛⲛⲏⲥ ⲡⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲁⲓ̈ϥⲓⲧⲉϥⲁⲡⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲟϥ ⲡⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲁϥⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ.
17 For Herod himself had sent out and arrested John, and bound him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife, for he had married her.
ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ϩⲏⲣⲱⲇⲏⲥ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲁϥϫⲟⲟⲩ ⲁϥⲁⲙⲁϩⲧⲉ ⲛ̅ⲓ̈ⲱϩⲁⲛⲛⲏⲥ ⲁϥⲙⲟⲣϥ̅ ⲁϥⲕⲁⲁϥ ϩⲙ̅ⲡⲉϣⲧⲉⲕⲟ. ⲉⲧⲃⲉϩⲏⲣⲱⲇⲓⲁⲥ ⲑⲓⲙⲉ ⲙ̅ⲫⲓⲗⲓⲡⲡⲟⲥ ⲡⲉϥⲥⲟⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϫⲉ ⲁϥϩⲙⲟⲟⲥ ⲛⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲥ
18 For John said to Herod, "It is not lawful for you to have your brother's wife."
ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ⲓ̈ⲱϩⲁⲛⲛⲏⲥ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲣⲱⲇⲏⲥ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲕ ⲉⲝⲉⲥⲧⲓ ⲛⲁⲕ ⲉϫⲓ ⲛ̅ⲑⲓⲙⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲕⲥⲟⲛ.
19 So Herodias set herself against him, and desired to kill him, but she could not,
ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ϩⲏⲣⲱⲇⲓⲁⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉⲥϭⲟⲛⲧ̅ ⲉⲣⲟϥ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲥⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲉⲙⲟⲟⲩⲧϥ̅ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲥϭⲙ̅ϭⲟⲙ ⲇⲉ.
20 for Herod feared John, knowing that he was a righteous and holy man, and kept him safe. And when he heard him, he was very perplexed, but he heard him gladly.
ⲕ̅ϩⲏⲣⲱⲇⲏⲥ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲉϥⲟ ⲛ̅ϩⲟⲧⲉ ϩⲏⲧϥ̅ ⲛ̅ⲓ̈ⲱϩⲁⲛⲛⲏⲥ ⲉϥⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟϥ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛ̅ⲇⲓⲕⲁⲓⲟⲥ ⲡⲉ ⲉϥⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉϥⲧⲙⲁⲓ̈ⲟ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟϥ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲥⲱⲧⲙ̅ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲛ̅ϩⲁϩ ⲛ̅ⲥⲟⲡ ⲁϥⲣ̅ϣⲡⲏⲣⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉϥⲥⲱⲧⲙ̅ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲉϥⲡⲓⲑⲉ.
21 And then a convenient day came, that Herod on his birthday gave a supper for his nobles, the high officers, and the leaders of Galilee.
ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉⲟⲩϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲛ̅ⲣⲁⲛ ϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲉⲁϩⲏⲣⲱⲇⲏⲥ ϩⲙ̅ⲡⲉϥϩⲟⲩⲙⲓⲥⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲩⲇⲓⲡⲛⲟⲛ ⲉⲛⲉϥⲙⲉⲅⲓⲥⲧⲁⲛⲟⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲛⲭⲓⲗⲓⲁⲣⲭⲟⲥ ⲙⲛ̅ⲛ̅ⲛⲟϭ ⲛ̅ⲧⲅⲁⲗⲓⲗⲁⲓⲁ.
22 And when the daughter of Herodias herself came in and danced, she pleased Herod and those sitting with him. The king said to the young woman, "Ask me whatever you want, and I will give it to you."
ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ⲁⲥⲉⲓ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲛ̅ϭⲓⲧϣⲉⲉⲣⲉ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲣⲱⲇⲓⲁⲥ ⲁⲥⲟⲣⲭⲉ ⲁⲥⲣ̅ⲁⲛⲁϥ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲣⲱⲇⲏⲥ ⲛⲙ̅ⲛⲉⲧⲛⲏϫ. ⲡⲉⲣⲟ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥϫⲟⲟⲥ ⲛ̅ⲧϣⲉⲉⲣⲉ ϣⲏⲙ ϫⲉ ⲁⲓⲧⲓ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲓ̈ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲟⲩⲁϣϥ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ϯⲛⲁⲧⲁⲁϥ ⲛⲉ.
23 And he swore to her, "Whatever you ask me, I will give you, up to half of my kingdom."
ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥϩⲟⲙⲟⲗⲟⲅⲉⲓ ⲛⲁⲥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲣⲁⲁⲓⲧⲓ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲓ̈ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ϯⲛⲁⲧⲁⲁϥ ⲛⲉ ϣⲁⲧⲡⲁϣⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲁⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲟ.
24 So she went out, and said to her mother, "What should I ask?" And she said, "The head of John the baptizer."
ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉⲥⲉ͡ⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲁⲥϫⲟⲟⲥ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲥⲙⲁⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲧⲁⲁⲓⲧⲓ ⲛ̅ⲟⲩ. ⲛ̅ⲧⲟⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁⲥ ϫⲉ ⲉⲧⲓ ⲛ̅ⲧⲁⲡⲉ ⲛ̅ⲓ̈ⲱϩⲁⲛⲛⲏⲥ ⲡⲃⲁⲡⲧⲓⲥⲧⲏⲥ
25 And she came in immediately with haste to the king, and asked, "I want you to give me right now the head of John the Baptist on a platter."
ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉⲥⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩ ϣⲁⲡⲉⲣⲟ ⲁⲥⲁⲓⲧⲓ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟϥ ⲉⲥϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ϯⲟⲩⲱϣ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ⲉⲕⲉϯ ⲛⲁⲓ̈ ϩⲓϫⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲡⲓⲛⲁⲝ ⲛ̅ⲧⲁⲡⲉ ⲛ̅ⲓ̈ⲱϩⲁⲛⲛⲏⲥ ⲡⲃⲁⲡⲧⲓⲥⲧⲏⲥ.
26 And the king was exceedingly sorry, but for the sake of his oaths, and those reclining, he did not wish to refuse her.
ⲕ̅ⲋ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲙ̅ⲕⲁϩ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧ ⲛ̅ϭⲓⲡⲣ̅ⲣⲟ. ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲛⲁⲛⲁⲩϣ ⲛⲙ̅ⲛⲉⲧⲛⲏϫ ⲛⲙ̅ⲙⲁϥ ⲙⲡϥ̅ⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲉⲧⲥⲧⲟⲥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ.
27 So immediately the king sent out a soldier of his guard, and commanded to bring John's head, and he went and beheaded him in the prison,
ⲕ̅ⲍ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲡⲉⲣⲟ ⲁϥϫⲟⲟⲩ ⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲥⲡⲉⲕⲟⲩⲗⲁⲧⲱⲣ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲉϩⲥⲁϩⲛⲉ ⲛⲁϥ ⲉⲧⲣⲉϥⲛ̅ⲧⲉϥⲁⲡⲉ.
28 and brought his head on a platter, and gave it to the young woman; and the young woman gave it to her mother.
ⲕ̅ⲏ̅ⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥϥⲓⲧⲉϥⲁⲡⲉ ϩⲙ̅ⲡⲉϣⲧⲉⲕⲟ. ⲁϥⲛ̅ⲧⲥ̅ ϩⲓϫⲙⲡⲡⲓⲛⲁⲝ ⲁϥⲧⲁⲁⲥ ⲛ̅ⲧϣⲉⲉⲣⲉ ϣⲏⲙ ⲧϣⲉⲉⲣⲉ ϣⲏⲙ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲥⲧⲁⲁⲥ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲥⲙⲁⲁⲩ.
29 And when his disciples heard this, they came and took up his corpse, and placed it in a tomb.
ⲕ̅ⲑ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲟⲩⲥⲱⲧⲙ̅ ⲛ̅ϭⲓⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ. ⲁⲩⲉⲓ ⲁⲩϥⲓⲡⲉϥⲥⲱⲙⲁ ⲁⲩⲕⲁⲁϥ ϩⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲙ̅ϩⲁⲟⲩ.
30 Then the apostles gathered themselves together to Jesus, and they told him all things, whatever they had done, and whatever they had taught.
ⲗ̅ⲛⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩⲥⲱⲟⲩϩ ⲉⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩϫⲱ ⲁⲩⲧⲁⲩⲟ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩⲁⲁⲩ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲙⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩⲁⲁⲩ ⲛ̅ⲥⲃⲱ
31 And he said to them, "Come away by yourselves to an isolated place, and rest awhile." For there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.
ⲗ̅ⲁ̅ⲡⲉϫⲉⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲁⲙⲏⲓ̈ⲛ ⲛ̅ⲧⲱⲧⲛ̅ ⲛ̅ⲥⲁⲩⲥⲁ ⲉⲩⲙⲁ ⲛ̅ϫⲁⲓ̈ⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲙⲧⲟⲛ ⲙ̅ⲙⲱⲧⲛ̅ ⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲕⲟⲩⲉⲓ ⲛⲉⲧⲛⲏⲩ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲧⲃⲏⲕ ⲛⲉ ⲛⲁϣⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲙⲁⲩⲕⲁⲁⲩ ⲉⲥⲣ̅ϥⲉ ⲉⲟⲩⲱⲙ
32 So they went away in the boat to an isolated place by themselves.
ⲗ̅ⲃ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲧⲁⲗⲉ ⲉⲡϫⲟⲉⲓ ⲁⲩⲃⲱⲕ ⲙⲁⲩⲁⲁⲩ ⲉⲩⲙⲁ ⲛ̅ϫⲁⲉⲓⲉ.
33 But they saw them going, and many recognized him and ran there on foot from all the cities and they arrived before them.
ⲗ̅ⲅ̅ⲁϩⲁϩ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲩⲃⲏⲕ ⲁⲩⲥⲟⲩⲱⲛⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲉⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ̅ⲙ̅ⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥ. ⲁⲩⲡⲱⲧ ⲉⲣⲁⲧⲟⲩ. ⲁⲩⲣ̅ϣⲟⲣⲡ̅ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ.
34 And he came out, saw a large crowd, and he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd, and he began to teach them many things.
ⲗ̅ⲇ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲉ͡ⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲁϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲙ̅ⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥϣⲛ̅ϩⲧⲏϥ ⲉϫⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲩⲟ ⲛ̅ⲑⲉ ⲛ̅ϩⲉⲛⲉⲥⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲙⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲟⲩϣⲱⲥ ϩⲓϫⲱⲟⲩ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲁⲣⲭⲓ ⲉϯⲥⲃⲱ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲙⲁⲧⲉ
35 And when it was late in the day, his disciples came to him, and said, "This place is desolate, and it is late in the day.
ⲗ̅ⲉ̅ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉⲛⲁⲩ ⲇⲉ ϣⲉ. ⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲁⲩϯⲡⲉⲩⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲙⲁ ⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ̈ⲉ ⲡⲉ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲏⲇⲏ ⲁⲛⲁⲩ ϣⲉ.
36 Send them away, that they may go into the surrounding country and villages, and buy themselves something to eat."
ⲗ̅ⲋ̅ⲕⲁⲁⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϫⲉ ⲉⲩⲉⲃⲱⲕ ⲉⲛⲥⲱϣⲉ ⲉⲧϩⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲩⲕⲱⲧⲉ ⲙⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲧⲙⲉ ⲛ̅ⲥⲉⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲧⲟⲩⲛⲁⲟⲩⲟⲙⲟⲩ.
37 But he answered them, "You give them something to eat." And they said to him, "Are we to go and buy two hundred denarii worth of bread, and give them something to eat?"
ⲗ̅ⲍ̅ⲛ̅ⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ϯ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲛ̅ⲧⲱⲧⲛ̅ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩⲟⲩⲱⲙ. ⲡⲉϫⲁⲩ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲙⲁⲣⲛ̅ⲃⲱⲕ ⲛ̅ⲧⲛ̅ⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲛⲧ̅ⲥⲛⲟⲟⲩⲥ ⲛ̅ϣⲉ ⲛ̅ⲟⲉⲓⲕ ⲛ̅ⲧⲛ̅ⲧⲁⲁⲩ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲟⲩⲱⲙ.
38 He said to them, "How many loaves do you have? Go see." When they knew, they said, "Five, and two fish."
ⲗ̅ⲏ̅ⲛ̅ⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲛⲧⲏⲧⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲏⲣ ⲛ̅ⲟⲉⲓⲕ ⲃⲱⲕ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲛⲁⲩ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲟⲩⲉⲓⲙⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁⲩ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ϯⲟⲩ ⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲃⲧ̅ ⲥⲛⲁⲩ.
39 He commanded them that everyone should sit down in groups on the green grass.
ⲗ̅ⲑ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲉϩⲥⲁϩⲛⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩⲛⲟϫⲟⲩ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲉⲩⲟ ⲛ̅ⲁⲩⲏⲧʾ ⲁⲩⲏⲧʾ ⲉϫⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲭⲟⲣⲧⲟⲥ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲉⲧⲟⲩⲱⲧ
40 They sat down in ranks, by hundreds and by fifties.
ⲙ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲛⲟϫⲟⲩ ⲉⲩⲟ ⲛ̅ⲁⲩⲏⲧʾ ⲁⲩⲏⲧʾ ϣⲉ ϣⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲧⲁⲉⲓⲟⲩ ⲧⲁⲉⲓⲟⲩ.
41 He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, he blessed and broke the loaves, and he gave to his disciples to set before them, and he divided the two fish among them all.
ⲙ̅ⲁ̅ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉϥϫⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡϯⲟⲩ ⲛ̅ⲟⲓ̈ⲕ ⲛⲙⲡ̅ⲧⲃ̅ⲧ ⲥⲛⲁⲩ ⲁϥϥⲓⲁⲧϥ̅ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ̈ ⲉⲧⲡⲉ ⲁϥⲥⲙⲟⲩ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲡⲉϣⲛ̅ⲟⲉⲓⲕ ⲁϥⲧⲁⲁⲩ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ϫⲉ ⲉⲩⲉⲕⲁⲁⲩ ϩⲁⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲡⲕⲉⲧⲃⲧ̅ ⲥⲛⲁⲩ ⲁϥⲡⲟϣⲟⲩ ⲉϫⲱⲟⲩ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ
42 They all ate, and were filled.
ⲙ̅ⲃ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲟⲩⲱⲙ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲥⲓ.
43 They took up twelve baskets full of broken pieces and also of the fish.
ⲙ̅ⲅ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩϥⲓⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲥ̅ⲛⲟⲟⲩⲥ ⲛ̅ⲕⲟⲧ ⲉⲩⲙⲉϩ ⲗ̅ⲗⲁⲕⲙ̅ ⲁⲩϥⲓ ⲟⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ̅ⲛ̅ⲧⲃⲧ̅.
44 Those who ate the loaves were five thousand men.
ⲙ̅ⲇ̅ⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩⲟⲩⲱⲙ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉⲩⲛⲁⲣ̅ⲁⲩϭⲓⲥⲧⲃⲁ ⲣ̅ⲣⲱⲙⲉ.
45 And immediately he made his disciples get into the boat, and to go ahead to the other side, to Bethsaida, while he himself was sending the crowd away.
ⲙ̅ⲉ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲁϥⲁⲛⲁⲅⲕⲁⲍⲉ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲉⲧⲁⲗⲉ ⲉⲡϫⲟⲉⲓ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲣϣⲟⲣⲡ̅ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲉⲡⲓⲕⲣⲟ ⲉⲃⲏⲑⲥⲁⲓ̈ⲇⲁ ϣⲁⲛⲧⲉϥⲕⲁⲡⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ.
46 After he had taken leave of them, he went up the mountain to pray.
ⲙ̅ⲋ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲁⲥⲥⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ̈ ⲉⲡⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲉϣⲗⲏⲗ.
47 When evening had come, the boat was in the midst of the sea, and he was alone on the land.
ⲙ̅ⲍ̅ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉⲣⲟⲩϩⲉ ⲇⲉ ϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛⲉⲣⲉⲡϫⲟⲉⲓ ϩⲛ̅ⲧⲙⲏⲧⲉ ⲛ̅ⲑⲁⲗⲁⲥⲥⲁ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛ̅ⲧⲟϥ ⲛⲉϥϩⲓⲡⲉⲕⲣⲟ ⲙⲁⲩⲁⲁϥ.
48 He saw them distressed in rowing, for the wind was against them. In the watch between three and six in the morning he came to them, walking on the sea, and he would have passed by them,
ⲙ̅ⲏ̅ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲩϩⲟⲥⲉ ϩⲙ̅ⲡⲧⲣⲉⲩⲥϭⲏⲣ ⲡⲧⲏⲩ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲉϥϯⲟⲩⲃⲏⲩ ϩⲙ̅ⲡⲙⲉϩϥⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲛ̅ϣⲱⲡ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲩϣⲏ ⲁϥⲉⲓ ϣⲁⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲉϥⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ϩⲓϫⲛ̅ⲑⲁⲗⲁⲥⲥⲁ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉϥⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲉⲡⲁⲣⲁⲅⲉ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲟⲩ.
49 but they, when they saw him walking on the sea, supposed that it was a ghost, and began to scream;
ⲙ̅ⲑ̅ⲛ̅ⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲛ̅ⲇⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲟⲩⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲉϥⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ϩⲓϫⲛ̅ⲑⲁⲗⲁⲥⲥⲁ. ⲁⲩⲙⲉⲉⲩⲉ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲫⲁⲛⲧⲁⲥⲙⲁ ⲡⲉ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩϫⲓϣⲕⲁⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ
50 for they all saw him, and were troubled. But he immediately spoke with them, and said to them, "Cheer up. It is I. Do not be afraid."
ⲛ̅ⲁⲩⲉⲓⲟⲣϩϥ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩϣⲧⲟⲣⲧⲣ̅. ⲛ̅ⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲁϥϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲩ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲧⲱⲕ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲡⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲣ̅ⲣ̅ϩⲟⲧⲉ
51 And he got into the boat with them, and the wind ceased. And they were completely profusely astonished among themselves;
ⲛ̅ⲁ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲁⲗⲉ ⲉⲡϫⲟⲉⲓ ⲛⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲩ ⲁⲡⲧⲏⲩ ⲗⲟ ⲃ̅ⲃⲟⲗ. ⲁⲩⲣ̅ϣⲡⲏⲣⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲙⲁⲧⲉ
52 for they had not understood about the loaves, but their hearts were hardened.

53 When they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret, and moored to the shore.

54 When they had come out of the boat, immediately the people recognized him,
ⲛ̅ⲇ̅ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲟⲩⲡⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲡⲉⲕⲣⲟ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲥⲟⲩⲱⲛϥ̅
55 and ran around that whole region, and began to bring those who were sick, on their mats, to where they heard he was.

56 Wherever he entered, into villages, or into cities, or into the country, they placed the sick in the marketplaces, and begged him that they might touch just the fringe of his garment; and everyone who touched him were made well.
