Mark 14
1 It was now two days before the feast of the Passover and the unleavened bread, and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might seize him by deception, and kill him.
Ora, due giorni dopo, era la pasqua e gli azzimi; e i capi sacerdoti e gli scribi cercavano il modo di pigliar Gesù con inganno ed ucciderlo;
2 For they said, "Not during the feast, because there might be a riot of the people."
perché dicevano: Non lo facciamo durante la festa, che talora non vi sia qualche tumulto del popolo.
3 While he was at Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, as he was reclining, a woman came having an alabaster jar of ointment of pure nard—very costly. She broke the jar, and poured it over his head.
Ed essendo egli in Betania, nella casa di Simone il lebbroso, mentre era a tavola, venne una donna che aveva un alabastro d’olio odorifero di nardo schietto, di gran prezzo; e rotto l’alabastro, glielo versò sul capo.
4 But there were some who were indignant among themselves, and saying, "Why has this ointment been wasted?
E alcuni, sdegnatisi, dicevano fra loro: Perché s’è fatta questa perdita dell’olio?
5 For this ointment might have been sold for more than three hundred denarii, and given to the poor." They grumbled against her.
Questo olio si sarebbe potuto vendere più di trecento denari e darli ai poveri. E fremevano contro a lei.
6 But Jesus said, "Leave her alone. Why do you trouble her? She has done a good work for me.
Ma Gesù disse: Lasciatela stare! Perché le date noia? Ella ha fatto un’azione buona inverso me.
7 For you always have the poor with you, and whenever you want to, you can do them good; but you will not always have me.
Poiché i poveri li avete sempre con voi; e quando vogliate, potete far loro del bene; ma a me non mi avete sempre.
8 She has done what she could. She has anointed my body beforehand for the burying.
Ella ha fatto ciò che per lei si poteva; ha anticipato d’ungere il mio corpo per la sepoltura.
9 Truly I tell you, wherever this Good News may be preached throughout the whole world, that which this woman has done will also be spoken of for a memorial of her."
E in verità io vi dico che per tutto il mondo, dovunque sarà predicato l’evangelo, anche quello che costei ha fatto sarà raccontato, in memoria di lei.
10 Judas Iscariot, who was one of the twelve, went away to the chief priests, that he might deliver him to them.
E Giuda Iscariot, uno dei dodici, andò dai capi sacerdoti per darglielo nelle mani.
11 They, when they heard it, were glad, and promised to give him money. He sought how he might conveniently deliver him.
Ed essi, uditolo, si rallegrarono e promisero di dargli del denaro. Ed egli cercava il modo opportuno di tradirlo.
12 On the first day of unleavened bread, when they sacrificed the Passover lamb, his disciples asked him, "Where do you want us to go and make ready that you may eat the Passover?"
E il primo giorno degli azzimi, quando si sacrificava la pasqua, i suoi discepoli gli dissero: Dove vuoi che andiamo ad apparecchiarti da mangiar la pasqua?
13 He sent two of his disciples, and said to them, "Go into the city, and there you will meet a man carrying a pitcher of water. Follow him,
Ed egli mandò due dei suoi discepoli, e disse loro: Andate nella città, e vi verrà incontro un uomo che porterà una brocca d’acqua; seguitelo;
14 and wherever he enters in, tell the master of the house, 'The Teacher says, "Where is my guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?"'
e dove sarà entrato, dite al padron di casa: Il Maestro dice: Dov’è la mia stanza da mangiarvi la pasqua coi miei discepoli?
15 He will himself show you a large upper room furnished and ready. Make ready for us there."
Ed egli vi mostrerà di sopra una gran sala ammobiliata e pronta; quivi apparecchiate per noi.
16 The disciples went out, and came into the city, and found things as he had said to them, and they prepared the Passover.
E i discepoli andarono e giunsero nella città e trovarono come egli avea lor detto, e apparecchiarono la pasqua.
17 When it was evening he came with the twelve.
E quando fu sera Gesù venne co’ dodici.
18 And as they were reclining and eating, Jesus said, "Truly I tell you, one of you will betray me—he who eats with me."
E mentre erano a tavola e mangiavano, Gesù disse: In verità io vi dico che uno di voi, il quale mangia meco, mi tradirà.
19 And they began to be sorrowful, and to say to him one by one, "Surely not I?" And another said, "Surely not I?"
Essi cominciarono ad attristarsi e a dirgli ad uno ad uno: Sono io desso?
20 He said to them, "It is one of the twelve, he who dips with me in the dish.
Ed egli disse loro: E’ uno dei dodici, che intinge meco nel piatto.
21 For the Son of Man goes, even as it is written about him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed. It would be better for that man if he had not been born."
Certo il Figliuol dell’uomo se ne va, com’è scritto di lui; ma guai a quell’uomo per cui il Figliuol dell’uomo è tradito! Ben sarebbe per quell’uomo di non esser nato!
22 As they were eating, he took bread, and when he had blessed, he broke it, and gave to them, and said, "Take; this is my body."
E mentre mangiavano, Gesù prese del pane; e fatta la benedizione, lo ruppe e lo diede loro e disse: Prendete, questo è il mio corpo.
23 He took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave to them. They all drank of it.
Poi, preso il calice e rese grazie, lo diede loro, e tutti ne bevvero.
24 He said to them, "This is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many.
E disse loro: Questo è il mio sangue, il sangue del patto, il quale è sparso per molti.
25 Truly I tell you, I will no more drink of the fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it anew in the Kingdom of God."
In verità io vi dico che non berrò più del frutto della vigna fino a quel giorno che lo berrò nuovo nel regno di Dio.
26 When they had sung the hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
E dopo ch’ebbero cantato l’inno, uscirono per andare al monte degli Ulivi.
27 Jesus said to them, "All of you will fall away, for it is written, 'I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.'
E Gesù disse loro: Voi tutti sarete scandalizzati; perché è scritto: Io percoterò il pastore e le pecore saranno disperse.
28 However, after I am raised up, I will go before you into Galilee."
Ma dopo che sarò risuscitato, vi precederò in Galilea.
29 But Peter said to him, "Although all will be offended, yet I will not."
Ma Pietro gli disse: Quand’anche tutti fossero scandalizzati, io però non lo sarò.
30 Jesus said to him, "Truly I tell you, that today, even this night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times."
E Gesù gli disse: In verità io ti dico che tu, oggi, in questa stessa notte, avanti che il gallo abbia cantato due volte, mi rinnegherai tre volte.
31 But he insisted, "If I must die with you, I will not deny you." They all said the same thing.
Ma egli vie più fermamente diceva: Quantunque mi convenisse morir teco non però ti rinnegherò. E lo stesso dicevano pure tutti gli altri.
32 They came to a place which was named Gethsemane. He said to his disciples, "Sit here, while I pray."
Poi vennero in un podere detto Getsemani; ed egli disse ai suoi discepoli: Sedete qui finché io abbia pregato.
33 He took with him Peter, James, and John, and began to be greatly troubled and distressed.
E prese seco Pietro e Giacomo e Giovanni e cominciò ad essere spaventato ed angosciato.
34 He said to them, "My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here, and watch."
E disse loro: L’anima mia è oppressa da tristezza mortale; rimanete qui e vegliate.
35 He went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass away from him.
E andato un poco innanzi, si gettò a terra; e pregava che, se fosse possibile, quell’ora passasse oltre da lui.
36 He said, "Abba, Father, all things are possible to you. Please remove this cup from me. However, not what I desire, but what you desire."
E diceva: Abba, Padre! ogni cosa ti è possibile; allontana da me questo calice! Ma pure, non quello che io voglio, ma quello che tu vuoi.
37 He came and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, "Simon, are you sleeping? Could you not watch one hour?
E venne, e li trovò che dormivano, e disse a Pietro: Simone, dormi tu? non sei stato capace di vegliare un’ora sola?
38 Watch and pray, that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."
Vegliate e pregate, affinché non cadiate in tentazione; ben è lo spirito pronto, ma la carne è debole.
39 Again he went away, and prayed, saying the same words.
E di nuovo andò e pregò, dicendo le medesime parole.
40 Again he came and found them sleeping again, for their eyes were very heavy, and they did not know what to answer him.
E tornato di nuovo, li trovò che dormivano perché gli occhi loro erano aggravati; e non sapevano che rispondergli.
41 He came the third time, and said to them, "Sleep on now, and take your rest. It is enough. The hour has come. Look, the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
E venne la terza volta, e disse loro: Dormite pure oramai, e riposatevi! Basta! L’ora è venuta: ecco, il Figliuol dell’uomo è dato nelle mani dei peccatori.
42 Arise, let us be going. Look, he who betrays me is near."
Levatevi, andiamo; ecco, colui che mi tradisce, è vicino.
43 Immediately, while he was still speaking, Judas, one of the twelve, came—and with him a crowd with swords and clubs, from the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders.
E in quell’istante, mentr’egli parlava ancora, arrivò Giuda, l’uno dei dodici, e con lui una gran turba con ispade e bastoni, da parte de’ capi sacerdoti, degli scribi e degli anziani.
44 Now he who betrayed him had given them a sign, saying, "Whomever I will kiss, that is he. Seize him, and lead him away safely."
Or colui che lo tradiva, avea dato loro un segnale, dicendo: Colui che bacerò è desso; pigliatelo e menatelo via sicuramente.
45 When he had come, immediately he came to him, and said, "Rabbi." and kissed him.
E come fu giunto, subito si accostò a lui e gli disse: Maestro! e lo baciò.
46 They laid hands on him, and seized him.
Allora quelli gli misero le mani addosso e lo presero;
47 But a certain one of those who stood by drew his sword, and struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.
ma uno di coloro ch’erano quivi presenti, tratta la spada, percosse il servitore del somma sacerdote, e gli spiccò l’orecchio.
48 Jesus answered them, "Have you come out, as against a robber, with swords and clubs to seize me?
E Gesù, rivolto a loro, disse: Voi siete usciti con ispade e bastoni come contro ad un ladrone per pigliarmi.
49 I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and you did not arrest me. But this is so that the Scriptures might be fulfilled."
Ogni giorno ero fra voi insegnando nel tempio, e voi non mi avete preso; ma ciò è avvenuto, affinché le Scritture fossero adempiute.
50 They all left him, and fled.
E tutti, lasciatolo, se ne fuggirono.
51 And a certain young man followed him, having a linen cloth thrown around himself, over his naked body. And they grabbed him,
Ed un certo giovane lo seguiva, avvolto in un panno lino sul nudo; e lo presero;
52 but he left the linen cloth, and fled naked.
ma egli, lasciando andare il panno lino, se ne fuggì ignudo.
53 They led Jesus away to the high priest. All the chief priests, the elders, and the scribes came together.
E menarono Gesù al sommo sacerdote; e s’adunarono tutti i capi sacerdoti e gli anziani e egli scribi.
54 Peter had followed him from a distance, until he came into the court of the high priest. He was sitting with the officers, and warming himself in the light of the fire.
E Pietro lo avea seguito da lungi, fin dentro la corte del sommo sacerdote, ove stava a sedere con le guardie e si scaldava al fuoco.
55 Now the chief priests and the whole council sought witnesses against Jesus to put him to death, and found none.
Or i capi sacerdoti e tutto il Sinedrio cercavano qualche testimonianza contro a Gesù per farlo morire; e non ne trovavano alcuna.
56 For many gave false testimony against him, and their testimony did not agree with each other.
Poiché molti deponevano il falso contro a lui; ma le testimonianze non erano concordi.
57 Some stood up, and gave false testimony against him, saying,
Ed alcuni, levatisi, testimoniarono falsamente contro a lui, dicendo:
58 "We heard him say, 'I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and in three days I will build another made without hands.'"
Noi l’abbiamo udito che diceva: Io disfarò questo tempio fatto di man d’uomo, e in tre giorni ne riedificherò un altro, che non sarà fatto di mano d’uomo.
59 Even so, their testimony did not agree.
Ma neppur così la loro testimonianza era concorde.
60 The high priest stood up in the midst, and asked Jesus, "Have you no answer? What is it which these testify against you?"
Allora il sommo sacerdote, levatosi in piè quivi in mezzo, domandò a Gesù: Non rispondi tu nulla? Che testimoniano costoro contro a te?
61 But he stayed quiet, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, "Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?"
Ma egli tacque e non rispose nulla. Daccapo il sommo sacerdote lo interrogò e gli disse: Sei tu il Cristo, il Figliuol del Benedetto?
62 And Jesus said, "I am, and you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of the sky."
E Gesù disse: Sì, lo sono: e vedrete il Figliuol dell’uomo seduto alla destra della Potenza e venire sulle nuvole del cielo.
63 The high priest tore his clothes, and said, "What further need have we of witnesses?
Ed il sommo sacerdote, stracciatesi le vesti, disse: Che abbiam noi più bisogno di testimoni?
64 You have heard the blasphemy. What do you think?" They all condemned him to be worthy of death.
Voi avete udito la bestemmia. Che ve ne pare? E tutti lo condannarono come reo di morte.
65 Some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to beat him with fists, and to tell him, "Prophesy." And the officers took him and beat him.
Ed alcuni presero a sputargli addosso ed a velargli la faccia e a dargli dei pugni e a dirgli: Indovina, profeta! E le guardie presero a schiaffeggiarlo.
66 Now as Peter was in the courtyard below, one of the servant girls of the high priest came,
Ed essendo Pietro giù nella corte, venne una delle serve del sommo sacerdote;
67 and seeing Peter warming himself, she looked at him, and said, "You were also with the Nazarene, Jesus."
e veduto Pietro che si scaldava, lo riguardò in viso e disse: Anche tu eri con Gesù Nazareno.
68 But he denied it, saying, "I neither know nor understand what you are saying." And he went out into the forecourt, and a rooster crowed.
Ma egli lo negò, dicendo: Io non so, né capisco quel che tu dica. Ed uscì fuori nell’antiporto, e il gallo cantò.
69 And the servant girl saw him, and began again to tell those who stood by, "This is one of them."
E la serva, vedutolo, cominciò di nuovo a dire a quelli ch’eran quivi presenti: Costui è di quelli. Ma egli daccapo lo negò.
70 But he again denied it. After a little while again those who stood by said to Peter, "You truly are one of them, for you are a Galilean, and your accent shows it."
E di nuovo di lì a poco, quelli ch’erano quivi, dicevano a Pietro: Per certo tu sei di quelli, perché poi sei galileo.
71 But he began to curse, and to swear, "I do not know this man of whom you speak."
Ma egli prese ad imprecare ed a giurare: Non conosco quell’uomo che voi dite.
72 And immediately the rooster crowed the second time. Peter remembered the word, how that Jesus said to him, "Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times." When he thought about that, he wept.
E subito per la seconda volta, il gallo cantò. E Pietro si ricordò della parola che Gesù gli aveva detta: Avanti che il gallo abbia cantato due volte, tu mi rinnegherai tre volte. Ed a questo pensiero si mise a piangere.
