< Luke 24 >

1 But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came to the tomb, bringing the spices which they had prepared.
ⲁ̅ⲛⲥⲟⲩⲁ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲡⲥⲁⲃⲃⲁⲧⲟⲛ ⲉϩⲧⲟⲟⲩⲉ ⲛϣⲱⲣⲡ ⲁⲩⲉⲓ ⲉⲡⲉⲙϩⲁⲟⲩ ⲉⲣⲉⲛ ϩⲏⲛⲉ ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩⲥⲃⲧⲱⲧⲟⲩ ⲙⲛ ϩⲉⲛⲕⲟⲟⲩⲉ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲛⲉⲩⲙⲉⲩⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲁⲣⲁ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲁⲥⲕⲟⲣⲕⲣ ⲛⲁⲛ ⲙⲡⲱⲛⲉ
2 They found the stone rolled away from the tomb.
ⲃ̅ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲟⲩⲉⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩϩⲉ ⲉⲡⲱⲛⲉ ⲉⲁⲩⲥⲕⲣⲕⲱⲣϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲙϩⲁⲟⲩ
3 They entered in, and did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.
ⲅ̅ⲁⲩⲃⲱⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲙⲡⲟⲩϩⲉ ⲉⲡⲥⲱⲙⲁ ⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲓⲏⲥ
4 It happened, while they were greatly perplexed about this, look, two men stood by them in dazzling clothing.
ⲇ̅ⲁⲥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲇⲉ ϩⲙ ⲡⲧⲣⲉⲩϣⲧⲟⲣⲧⲣ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲓⲥ ⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲥⲛⲁⲩ ⲁⲩⲉⲓ ⲉϫⲱⲟⲩ ϩⲛ ϩⲉⲛϩⲃⲥⲱ ⲉⲩⲣⲟⲩⲟⲓⲛ
5 Becoming terrified, they bowed their faces down to the earth. They said to them, "Why do you seek the living among the dead?
ⲉ̅ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲟⲩⲣ ϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩⲡⲁϩⲧ ϫⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲡⲉⲥⲏⲧ ⲉϫⲙ ⲡⲕⲁϩ ⲡⲉϫⲁⲩ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲁϩⲣⲱⲧⲛ ⲧⲉⲧⲛϣⲓⲛⲉ ⲛⲥⲁ ⲡⲉⲧⲟⲛϩ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲙⲟⲟⲩⲧ
6 He is not here, but is risen. Remember what he told you when he was still in Galilee,
ⲋ̅ⲛϥⲙⲡⲉⲓⲙⲁ ⲁⲛ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲁϥⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲁⲣⲓⲡⲙⲉⲩⲉ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛⲙⲙⲏⲧⲛ ϫⲓⲛ ⲉϥϩⲛ ⲧⲅⲁⲗⲓⲗⲁⲓⲁ
7 saying that the Son of Man must be delivered up into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again?"
ⲍ̅ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ϩⲁⲡⲥ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩⲡⲁⲣⲁⲇⲓⲇⲟⲩ ⲙⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲉⲧⲟⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲛϩⲉⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲣⲣⲉϥⲣⲛⲟⲃⲉ ⲛⲥⲉⲥⲧⲁⲩⲣⲟⲩ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲛϥⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ϩⲙ ⲡⲙⲉϩ ϣⲟⲙⲛⲧ ⲛϩⲟⲟⲩ
8 Then they remembered his words.
ⲏ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲣⲡⲙⲉⲉⲩⲉ ⲛⲛⲉϥϣⲁϫⲉ
9 And returning from the tomb, they told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest.
ⲑ̅ⲁⲩⲕⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲙϩⲁⲟⲩ ⲁⲩϫⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲡⲙⲛⲧⲟⲩⲉ ⲙⲛ ⲡⲕⲉⲥⲉⲉⲡⲉ ⲧⲏⲣϥ
10 Now they were Mary Magdalene and Joanna and Mary the mother of James and the other women with them who told these things to the apostles.
ⲓ̅ⲛⲉ ⲙⲁⲣⲓⲁ ⲇⲉ ⲧⲉ ⲧⲙⲁⲅⲇⲁⲗⲏⲛⲏ ⲙⲛ ⲓⲱϩⲁⲛⲛⲁ ⲙⲛ ⲙⲁⲣⲓⲁ ⲧⲁ ⲓⲁⲕⲱⲃⲟⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲕⲉⲥⲉⲉⲡⲉ ⲉⲧⲛⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲛⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲛⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲛⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ
11 These words seemed to them to be nonsense, and they did not believe them.
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ⲁⲩⲣⲑⲉ ⲛⲛⲓϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲥⲱⲃⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲩⲙⲧⲟ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϭⲓ ⲛⲉⲓϣⲁϫⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ
12 But Peter got up and ran to the tomb. Stooping and looking in, he saw the strips of linen by themselves, and he departed to his home, wondering what had happened.
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ⲁⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲉⲡⲉⲙϩⲁⲟⲩ ⲁϥϭⲱϣⲧ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲁϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲛⲉϩⲃⲱⲱⲥ ⲛⲥⲁ ⲟⲩⲥⲁ ⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲉϥⲣⲙⲟⲓϩⲉ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ ⲙⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲉ
13 And look, two of them were going that very day to a village named Emmaus, which was about seven miles from Jerusalem.
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲓⲥ ⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲥⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲟⲩ ⲉⲩⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ⲉⲩϯⲙⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲓϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲧ ⲉϥⲟⲩⲏⲟⲩ ⲛⲑⲓⲉⲣⲟⲥⲟⲗⲩⲙⲁ ⲛⲥⲉ ⲛⲥⲧⲁⲇⲓⲟⲛ ⲉⲡⲉϥⲣⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲙⲙⲁⲟⲩⲥ
14 They talked with each other about all of these things which had happened.
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉⲩϣⲁϫⲉ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲩⲉⲣⲏ ⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩϣⲱⲡⲉ
15 It happened, while they talked and questioned together, that Jesus himself came near, and went with them.
ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ⲁⲥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲇⲉ ϩⲙ ⲡⲧⲣⲉⲩϣⲁϫⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲥⲉⲥⲩⲛⲍⲏⲧⲓ ⲁⲓⲏⲥ ϩⲱⲛ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲁϥⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲩ
16 But their eyes were kept from recognizing him.
ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ⲛⲉⲩⲁⲙⲁϩⲧⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲩⲃⲁⲗ ⲉⲧⲙⲥⲟⲩⲱⲛϥ
17 And he said to them, "What are these words that you are exchanging with each other as you walk?" And they stood still, looking sad.
ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩ ⲛⲉ ⲛⲉⲓϣⲁϫⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲛⲉⲣⲏⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲁϩⲉⲣⲁⲧⲟⲩ ⲉⲩⲟⲕⲙ
18 One of them, named Cleopas, answered him, "Are you the only stranger in Jerusalem who does not know the things which have happened there in these days?"
ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ⲁⲟⲩⲁ ⲇⲉ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ ⲉⲡⲉϥⲣⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲕⲗⲉⲟⲡⲁⲥ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲟⲕ ⲙⲁⲩⲁⲁⲕ ⲉⲕⲟ ⲛϣⲙⲙⲟ ⲉⲑⲓⲉⲣⲟⲥⲟⲗⲩⲙⲁ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡⲕⲓⲙⲉ ⲉⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲥ ⲛⲛⲉⲓϩⲟⲟⲩ
19 He said to them, "What things?" They said to him, "The things concerning Jesus, the Nazarene, a man who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people;
ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲁϣ ⲛⲉ ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁⲩ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲡⲛⲁⲍⲱⲣⲁⲓⲟⲥ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲙⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲛⲇⲩⲛⲁⲧⲟⲥ ϩⲙ ⲫⲱⲃ ⲙⲛ ⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲙⲧⲟ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲙⲛ ⲡⲗⲁⲟⲥ ⲧⲏⲣϥ
20 and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him up to be condemned to death, and crucified him.
ⲕ̅ⲉⲁⲩⲡⲁⲣⲁⲇⲓⲇⲟⲩ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲛϭⲓ ⲛⲁⲣⲭⲓⲉⲣⲉⲩⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲛⲁⲣⲭⲱⲛ ⲉⲩϩⲁⲡ ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲙⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲥⲧⲁⲩⲣⲟⲩ ⲙⲙⲟϥ
21 But we were hoping that it was he who would redeem Israel. Yes, and besides all this, it is now the third day since these things happened.
ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲛϩⲉⲗⲡⲓⲍⲉ ϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲁⲥⲱⲧⲉ ⲙⲡⲓⲥⲣⲁⲏⲗ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲃⲃⲗⲗ ⲛⲛⲁⲓ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲡⲙⲉϩ ϣⲟⲙⲛⲧ ⲛϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲡⲟⲟⲩ ϫⲓⲛⲧⲁⲛⲁⲓ ϣⲱⲡⲉ
22 Also, certain women of our company amazed us, having arrived early at the tomb;
ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ⲁϩⲉⲛⲕⲉⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲛ ⲡⲉϣⲥ ⲡⲉⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲉⲁⲩⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲧⲟⲟⲩⲉ ⲉⲡⲉⲙϩⲁⲟⲩ
23 and when they did not find his body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels, who said that he was alive.
ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ⲙⲡⲟⲩϩⲉ ⲉⲡⲉϥⲥⲱⲙⲁ ⲁⲩⲉⲓ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲁⲛⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲩⲟⲡⲧⲁⲥⲓⲁ ⲛⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ
24 Some of us went to the tomb, and found it just like the women had said, but they did not see him."
ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ϫⲉ ⲁϥⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϩⲟⲓⲛⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲛⲙⲙⲁⲛ ⲃⲱⲕ ⲉⲡⲉⲙϩⲁⲟⲩ ⲁⲩϩⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϩⲓⲛⲁⲓ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲑⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲁ ⲛⲉϩⲓⲟⲙⲉ ϫⲟⲟⲥ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟϥ
25 Then he said to them, "O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken.
ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲱ ⲛⲁⲛⲟⲏⲧⲟⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲧⲟⲥⲕ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲩϩⲏⲧ ⲉⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲉϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲛⲧⲁ ⲛⲉⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ϫⲟⲟⲩ
26 Did not the Christ have to suffer these things and to enter into his glory?"
ⲕ̅ⲋ̅ⲙⲏ ϩⲁⲡⲥ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲧⲣⲉ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ ϣⲉⲡⲛⲁⲓ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲡⲉϥⲉⲟⲟⲩ
27 Beginning from Moses and from all the prophets, he explained to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.
ⲕ̅ⲍ̅ⲁϥⲁⲣⲭⲓ ⲇⲉ ϫⲓⲛ ⲙⲱⲩⲥⲏⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲱⲗ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉⲅⲣⲁⲫⲏ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲃⲏⲏⲧϥ
28 They drew near to the village, where they were going, and he acted like he would go further.
ⲕ̅ⲏ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲡϯⲙⲉ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲛⲁⲃⲱⲕ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥϩⲓⲧⲟⲟⲧϥ ⲉⲟⲩⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲉϥⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ
29 They urged him, saying, "Stay with us, for it is almost evening, and the day is almost over." He went in to stay with them.
ⲕ̅ⲑ̅ⲁⲩⲁⲙⲁϩⲧⲉ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ϭⲱ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲛ ϫⲉ ⲡⲛⲁⲩ ⲣⲣⲟⲩϩⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲡⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲣⲓⲕⲉ ⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲁϥϭⲱ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲩ
30 It happened, that when he had sat down at the table with them, he took the bread and gave thanks. Breaking it, he gave to them.
ⲗ̅ⲁⲥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲇⲉ ϩⲙ ⲡⲧⲣⲉϥⲛⲟϫϥ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲁϥϫⲓ ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲓⲕ ⲁϥⲥⲙⲟⲩ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲁϥⲡⲟϣϥ ⲁϥⲧⲁⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ
31 Their eyes were opened, and they recognized him, and he vanished out of their sight.
ⲗ̅ⲁ̅ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲛⲉⲩⲃⲁⲗ ⲟⲩⲱⲛ ⲁⲩⲥⲟⲩⲱⲛϥ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥϩⲟⲡϥ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ
32 And they said to one another, "Weren't our hearts burning within us, while he spoke to us along the way, and while he opened the Scriptures to us?"
ⲗ̅ⲃ̅ⲡⲉϫⲁⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲩⲉⲣⲏⲩ ϫⲉ ⲉⲓⲉ ⲛⲉⲣⲉⲡⲉⲛϩⲏⲧ ϩⲟⲃⲥ ⲉⲣⲟⲛ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲛ ϩⲓ ⲧⲉϩⲓⲏ ⲉϥⲃⲱⲗ ⲉⲣⲟⲛ ⲛⲛⲉⲅⲣⲁⲫⲏ
33 They rose up that very hour, returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and those who were with them,
ⲗ̅ⲅ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲩⲗⲩⲡⲓ ϩⲛ ⲧⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲁⲩⲕⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲉⲑⲓⲉⲣⲟⲥⲟⲗⲩⲙⲁ ⲁⲩϩⲉ ⲉⲡⲙⲛⲧⲟⲩⲉ ⲉⲩⲥⲱⲟⲩϩ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲛⲙⲙⲁⲩ
34 saying, "The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon."
ⲗ̅ⲇ̅ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲟⲛⲧⲱⲥ ⲁⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⲉⲥⲓⲙⲱⲛ
35 They related the things that happened along the way, and how he was recognized by them in the breaking of the bread.
ⲗ̅ⲉ̅ⲁⲩϫⲱ ϩⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲁⲩϣⲱⲡⲉ ϩⲓ ⲧⲉϩⲓⲏ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ϩⲙ ⲡⲡⲱϣ ⲙⲡⲟⲓⲕ
36 As they said these things, Jesus himself stood among them, and said to them, "Peace be to you."
ⲗ̅ⲋ̅ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲛⲁⲓ ⲁϥⲁϩⲉⲣⲁⲧϥ ϩⲛ ⲧⲉⲩⲙⲏⲧⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ϯⲣⲏⲛⲏ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ
37 But they were terrified and filled with fear, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.
ⲗ̅ⲍ̅ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲟⲩϣⲧⲟⲣⲧⲣ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲣ ϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲉⲩⲙⲉⲩⲉ ϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲩⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲩⲡⲛⲁ
38 He said to them, "Why are you troubled? Why do doubts arise in your hearts?
ⲗ̅ⲏ̅ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲁϩⲣⲱⲧⲛ ⲧⲉⲧⲛϣⲧⲣⲧⲱⲣ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲛ ϩⲉⲛⲙⲉⲩⲉ ⲁⲗⲉ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉϫⲛ ⲡⲉⲧⲛϩⲏⲧ
39 See my hands and my feet, that it is truly me. Touch me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones, as you see that I have."
ⲗ̅ⲑ̅ⲁⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲛⲁϭⲓϫ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲁⲩⲉⲣⲏⲧⲉ ϫⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲡⲉ ϭⲟⲙϭⲙ ⲉⲣⲟⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲙⲙⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲛⲁ ⲕⲁⲥ ϩⲓ ⲥⲁⲣⲝ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲑⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟⲓ ⲉⲩⲛ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲙⲙⲟⲓ
40 When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet.
ⲙ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥϫⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲁⲩⲧⲟⲩⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲛⲉϥϭⲓϫ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉϥⲟⲩⲉⲣⲏⲧⲉ
41 While they still did not believe for joy, and wondered, he said to them, "Do you have anything here to eat?"
ⲙ̅ⲁ̅ⲉⲧⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲩⲁⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲡⲣⲁϣⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲩⲣϣⲡⲏⲣⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲛⲧⲏⲧⲛ ⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲛϭⲓ ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲙ ⲙⲡⲉⲓⲙⲁ
42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish.
ⲙ̅ⲃ̅ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩϯ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛⲟⲩϣⲁⲁⲧⲉ ⲛⲧⲃⲧ ⲉⲥϭⲏϭ
43 And he took it and ate in front of them.
ⲙ̅ⲅ̅ⲁϥϫⲓⲧⲥ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲟⲙⲥ ⲙⲡⲉⲩⲙⲧⲟ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ
44 And he said to them, "This is what I told you, while I was still with you, that all things which are written in the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms, concerning me must be fulfilled."
ⲙ̅ⲇ̅ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲛⲉ ⲛⲁϣⲁϫⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲓϫⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ϫⲓⲛ ⲉⲓϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲛⲙⲙⲏⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ϩⲁⲡⲥ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩϫⲱⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϭⲓ ⲛⲉⲧⲥⲏϩ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ϩⲙ ⲡⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲙⲙⲱⲩⲥⲏⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲯⲁⲗⲙⲟⲥ ⲉⲧⲃⲏⲏⲧ
45 Then he opened their minds, that they might understand the Scriptures.
ⲙ̅ⲉ̅ⲧⲟⲧⲉ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱⲛ ⲙⲡⲉⲩϩⲏⲧ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩⲥⲟⲩⲱⲛϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩⲓⲙⲉ ⲉⲛⲉⲅⲣⲁⲫⲏ
46 He said to them, "Thus it is written, for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day,
ⲙ̅ⲋ̅ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲧⲁⲓ ⲧⲉ ⲑⲉ ⲉⲧⲥⲏϩ ⲉⲧⲣⲉ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲁⲁⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛϥⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ϩⲙ ⲡⲙⲉϩ ϣⲟⲙⲛⲧ ⲛϩⲟⲟⲩ

48 You are witnesses of these things.

49 And look, I send forth the promise of my Father on you. But wait in the city until you are clothed with power from on high."

50 He led them out as far as Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.

51 It happened, while he blessed them, that he departed from them, and was carried up into heaven.
