Isaiah 17
1 The burden of Damascus: "Look, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it will be a ruinous heap.
Weissagung über Damask. Siehe, hinweggenommen ist Damask, so daß es keine Stadt mehr ist, und ist zum Trümmerhaufen verfallen.
2 Her cities will be abandoned forever. They will be for flocks, which shall lie down, and none shall make them afraid.
Verlassen sind Aroers Städte, für Herden sind sie, und sie lagern sich und niemand scheucht sie auf.
3 The fortress shall cease from Ephraim, and the kingdom from Damascus, and the remnant of Aram. They will be as the glory of the children of Israel," says the LORD of hosts.
Zu Ende ist die Festung aus Ephraim und das Königreich aus Damask, und Arams Überrest wird wie die Herrlichkeit von Israels Söhnen! spricht Jehovah der Heerscharen.
4 "It will happen in that day that the glory of Jacob will be made thin, and the fatness of his flesh will become lean.
Und an jenem Tag geschieht, daß Jakobs Herrlichkeit verarmt und seines Fleisches Fett wird mager.
5 It will be like when the harvester gathers the wheat, and his arm reaps the grain. Yes, it will be like when one gleans grain in the Valley of Rephaim.
Und sein wird es, wie wenn einer die Ernte sammelt, die stehende Saat, und sein Arm die Ähren erntet, so wird es sein, wie wenn einer im Talgrunde Rephaim Ähren aufliest.
6 Yet gleanings will be left there, like the shaking of an olive tree, two or three olives in the top of the uppermost bough, four or five in the outermost branches of a fruitful tree," says the LORD, the God of Israel.
Und eine Nachlese verbleibt darin, wie beim Abschlagen der Oliven zwei, drei Beeren an des Gipfels Spitze, vier, fünf im Geäst des Fruchtbaumes, spricht Jehovah, der Gott Israels.
7 In that day, people will look to their Maker, and their eyes will have respect for the Holy One of Israel.
Am selben Tage schaut aus der Mensch nach Dem, so ihn gemacht, und seine Augen sehen auf den Heiligen Israels.
8 They will not look to the altars, the work of their hands; neither shall they respect that which their fingers have made, either the Asherim, or the incense altars.
Und er schaut nicht aus auf die Altäre, die seine Hände gemacht, noch sieht er auf das, was seine Finger gemacht, und auf Ascheren und Sonnensäulen.
9 In that day, their strong cities will be like the forsaken places of the Hivites and the Amorites, which were forsaken from before the children of Israel; and it will be a desolation.
An jenem Tage sind die Städte seiner Stärke wie Verlassenes des Forstes und des Gipfels, das sie verlassen vor den Söhnen Israels und sind Wüstenei.
10 For you have forgotten the God of your salvation, and have not remembered the rock of your strength. Therefore you plant pleasant plants, and set out foreign seedlings.
Weil du vergessen den Gott deines Heils, und des Felsen deiner Stärke nicht gedacht hast, darum wirst du liebliche Pflanzen anpflanzen, aber du wirst es besäen mit des Fremden Reben.
11 In the day of your planting, you hedge it in. In the morning, you make your seed blossom, but the harvest flees away in the day of grief and of desperate sorrow.
Am Tage bringst du deine Pflanzen zum Wachsen, und am Morgen blüht deine Saat: Der Erntehaufen am Tage des Erbes und ein verzweifelter Schmerz.
12 Ah, the uproar of many peoples, who roar like the roaring of the seas; and the rushing of nations, that rush like the rushing of mighty waters.
Wehe! Ein Getobe vieler Völker, wie das Getobe von Meeren toben sie, und ein Tosen von Volksstämmen, wie gewaltiger Wasser Tosen tosen sie.
13 The nations will rush like the rushing of many waters: but he will rebuke them, and they will flee far off, and will be chased like the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like the whirling dust before the storm.
Wie Tosen vieler Wasser tosen die Volksstämme; und Er droht ihm und von ferne flieht er und wird gejagt, wie Spreu der Berge vor dem Wind, wie vor dem Sturmwind der Staubwirbel.
14 At evening, look, terror. Before the morning, they are no more. This is the portion of those who plunder us, and the lot of those who rob us.
Zur Zeit des Abends, und siehe, da ist Bestürzung; bevor es Morgen wird, ist keiner da. Das ist das Teil, das unseren Plünderern wird, und das Los unserer Räuber.
