Ezekiel 17
1 The word of the LORD came to me, saying,
১পরে সদাপ্রভুর এই বাক্য আমার কাছে এল;
2 "Son of man, put forth a riddle, and speak a parable to the house of Israel;
২হে মানুষের সন্তান, তুমি ইস্রায়েল কুলের কাছে নিগূঢ় কথা ও উপমা উপস্থিত কর।
3 and say, 'Thus says the LORD: "A great eagle with great wings and long feathers, full of feathers, which had various colors, came to Lebanon, and took the top of the cedar:
৩তুমি বল, প্রভু সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, এক বিশাল ঈগল পাখি ছিল; তার ডানা বড় ও পালক সব দীর্ঘ ও বিভিন্ন রঙের লোমে পরিপূর্ণ; ঐ পাখি লিবানোনে এসে এরস গাছের উঁচু ডালে নিয়ে গেল;
4 he cropped off the topmost of the young twigs of it, and carried it to a land of traffic; he set it in a city of merchants.
৪সে তার ডালের ডগা কাটল এবং কনান দেশে নিয়ে গেল; সে বণিকদের শহরে রোপণ করল।
5 He took also of the seed of the land, and planted it in a fruitful soil; he placed it beside many waters; he set it as a willow tree.
৫আর সে ঐ জমির একটি বীজ নিয়ে উর্বর জমিতে লাগিয়ে দিল; সে জলরাশির সামনে তা রাখল, বাইশী গাছের মতো তা রোপণ করল।
6 It grew, and became a spreading vine of low stature, whose branches turned toward him, and its roots were under him: so it became a vine, and brought forth branches, and shot forth sprigs.
৬পরে তা বৃদ্ধি পেয়ে ছোট বিস্তারিত আঙ্গুরক্ষেত হল; তার ডাল ঐ ঈগলের দিকে ফিরল ও সেই পাখির নীচে তার মূল থাকল; এই ভাবে তা আঙ্গুরলতা হয়ে ডালবিশিষ্ট ও গজিয়ে উঠল।
7 '"There was also another great eagle with great wings and many feathers: and look, this vine bent its roots toward him, and shot forth its branches toward him, from the beds of its plantation, that he might water it.
৭কিন্তু বড় ডানা ও অনেক লোমবিশিষ্ট আর এক বিশাল ঈগল ছিল, আর দেখ, ঐ আঙ্গুরলতা জলে সেচিত হবার জন্য নিজের রোপণের জায়গা কেয়ারী থেকে তার দিকে মূল বেঁকিয়ে নিজের ডাল বিস্তার করল।
8 It was planted in a good soil by many waters, that it might bring forth branches, and that it might bear fruit, that it might be a goodly vine."'
৮সে জলরাশির কাছে উর্বরা জমিতে রোপিত হয়েছিল, সুতরাং প্রচুর ডালে উত্পন্ন হয়ে ও ফলবতী হয়ে উৎকৃষ্ট আঙ্গুরলতা হতে পারত।
9 "Say, 'Thus says the LORD: "Shall it prosper? Shall he not pull up its roots, and cut off its fruit, that it may wither; that all its fresh springing leaves may wither? And not by a strong arm or many people can it be raised from its roots.
৯তুমি বল, প্রভু সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, সে কি উন্নতিলাভ করবে? তার মূল কি উৎপাটিত হবে না? তার ফল কি কাটা যাবে না? সে শুকনো হবে ও তার ডালের নতুন ডগা সব ম্লান হবে। তার মূল থেকে তাকে তুলে নেবার জন্য শক্তিশালী হাত ও অনেক সৈন্য লাগবে না।
10 Yes, look, being planted, shall it prosper? Shall it not utterly wither, when the east wind touches it? It shall wither in the beds where it grew."'"
১০আর দেখ, সে রোপিত হয়েছে বলে কি বাড়বে? পূর্বীয় বায়ুর ছোঁয়ায় সে কি একেবারে শুকনো হবে না? এটি সম্পূর্ণভাবে তার ক্ষুদ্র জমির মধ্যে শুকিয়ে যাবে।
11 Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
১১আর সদাপ্রভুর এই বাক্য আমার কাছে উপস্থিত এল,
12 "Say now to the rebellious house, 'Do you not know what these things mean?' Tell them, 'Look, the king of Babylon came to Jerusalem, and took its king, and its princes, and brought them to him to Babylon:
১২“তুমি সেই বিদ্রোহী কুলকে এই কথা বল, তোমার কি এর অর্থ জান না? তাদেরকে বল, দেখ, বাবিল-রাজ যিরুশালেমে এসে তার রাজাকে ও তার নেতাদেরকে নিজের কাছে বাবিলে নিয়ে গেল।
13 and he took of the royal family, and made a covenant with him; he also brought him under an oath, and took away the mighty of the land;
১৩আর সে একটি রাজবংশকে নিয়ে তার সঙ্গে নিয়ম করল, শপথের দ্বারা তাকে বদ্ধ করল এবং দেশের শক্তিশালী লোকদেরকে নিয়ে গেল;
14 that the kingdom might be base, that it might not lift itself up, but that by keeping his covenant it might stand.
১৪যেন রাজ্যটি ছোট হয়, নিজেকে উচ্চ করতে না পারে, কিন্তু তার নিয়ম পালন করে যেন স্থির থাকে।
15 But he rebelled against him in sending his ambassadors into Egypt, that they might give him horses and many people. Shall he prosper? Shall he escape who does such things? Shall he break the covenant, and yet escape?
১৫কিন্তু সে তার বিদ্রোহী হয়ে ঘোড়া ও অনেক সৈন্য পাবার জন্য মিশরে দূত পাঠিয়ে দিল। সে কি সফল হবে? এমন কাজ যে করে, সে কি রক্ষা পাবে? সে তো নিয়ম ভেঙ্গেছে, তবু কি মুক্তি পাবে?
16 "'As I live,' says the LORD, 'surely in the place where the king dwells who made him king, whose oath he despised, and whose covenant he broke, even with him in the midst of Babylon he shall die.
১৬প্রভু সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, যেমন আমি জীবন্ত, যে রাজা তাকে রাজা করল, যার শপথ সে তুচ্ছ করল ও যার নিয়ম সে ভাঙ্গল, সেই রাজার বাসস্থানে ও তারই কাছে বাবিলের মধ্যে সে মরবে।
17 Neither shall Pharaoh with his mighty army and great company help him in the war, when they cast up mounds and build forts, to cut off many persons.
১৭আর ফরৌণ শক্তিশালী বাহিনী ও মহাসমাজ দ্বারা যুদ্ধে তার সাহায্য করবে না, যদিও অনেক লোকের প্রাণ ধ্বংসের জন্য অবরোধের ঢিবি ও অবরোধের দেয়াল তৈরী করা হয়।
18 For he has despised the oath by breaking the covenant; and look, he had given his hand, and yet has done all these things; he shall not escape.'
১৮সে তো শপথ অবজ্ঞা করে নিয়ম ভেঙ্গেছে; হ্যাঁ, দেখ, সে তার হাতের প্রতিজ্ঞার সঙ্গে পৌছেছে, কিন্তু সে এই সব সম্পূর্ণ করেছে। সে রক্ষা পাবে না।
19 "Therefore thus says the LORD: 'As I live, surely my oath that he has despised, and my covenant that he has broken, I will even bring it on his own head.
১৯অতএব প্রভু সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, যেমন আমি জীবিত, সে আমার শপথ অবজ্ঞা করেছে, আমার নিয়ম ভেঙ্গেছে, অতএব আমি এর ফল তার মাথায় দেব।
20 I will spread my net on him, and he shall be taken in my snare, and I will bring him to Babylon, and will enter into judgment with him there for his trespass that he has trespassed against me.
২০আর আমি নিজের জাল তার উপরে পাতব, সে আমার ফাঁদে ধরা পড়বে; আমি তাকে বাবিলে নিয়ে যাব এবং সে আমার বিরুদ্ধে যে সত্যলঙ্ঘন করেছে, তার জন্য সেখানে আমি তার বিচার করব।
21 All the choice men among all his troups will fall by the sword, and those who remain shall be scattered toward every wind: and you shall know that I, the LORD, have spoken it.'
২১তার সব সৈন্যের মধ্যে যত লোক পালাবে, সবাই তরোয়ালে মারা যাবে এবং বাকি লোকেরা সব দিকে ছিন্নভিন্ন হবে; তাতে তোমার জানবে যে, আমি সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেছি।”
22 "Thus says the LORD: 'I will also take of the lofty top of the cedar, and will set it; I will crop off from the topmost of its young twigs a tender one, and I will plant it on a high and lofty mountain:
২২প্রভু সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, আমিই এরস গাছের উচ্চতম শাখার একটি কলম নিয়ে রোপণ করব, তার ডাল সকলের আগা থেকে খুব নরম একটি ডাল ভেঙে নিয়ে উচ্চ ও উন্নত পর্বতে রোপণ করব;
23 in the mountain of the height of Israel will I plant it; and it shall bring forth boughs, and bear fruit, and be a goodly cedar: and under it shall dwell all birds of every wing; in the shade of its branches shall they dwell.
২৩আমি ইস্রায়েলের উচ্চতার পর্বতে তা রোপণ করব; তাতে তা বহু ডাল ও ফলবান হয়ে বিশাল এরস গাছ হয়ে উঠবে; তার তলায় সর্বজাতীয় সব পাখি বাসা করবে, তার শাখার ছায়াতেই বাসা করবে।
24 All the trees of the field shall know that I, the LORD, have brought down the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the green tree, and have made the dry tree to flourish; I, the LORD, have spoken and have done it.'"
২৪তাতে ক্ষেতের সমস্ত গাছ জানবে যে, আমি সদাপ্রভু উঁচু গাছকে ছোট করেছি, ছোট গাছকে উঁচু করেছি, সতেজ গাছকে শুকনো করেছি ও শুকনো গাছকে সতেজ করেছি; আমি সদাপ্রভু এটা বললাম, আর এটা করলাম।
