Acts 6

1 Now in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplying, a complaint arose from the Hellenists against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily service.

随着信徒的数量快速增加，说希腊语的信徒开始与说阿拉姆语的信徒争论起来，抱怨在日常食物分配的过程中歧视他们的寡妇。

2 So the twelve summoned the full number of the disciples and said, "It is not appropriate for us to forsake the word of God and serve tables.

于是十二使徒召集众信徒，说：“我们要传讲上帝之道，让我们放弃这个使命去管理伙食，不太合适。

3 Therefore select from among you, brothers, seven men of good report, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.

兄弟们，从你们中间选出七个值得信赖、充满圣灵和智慧之人，我们会派他们负责此事。

4 But we will continue steadfastly in prayer and in the ministry of the word."

我们要专心祈祷，行使传道的侍奉之责。”

5 And these words pleased the whole gathering. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolaus, a proselyte of Antioch;

这个安排让所有人都很满意。他们选出司提芬（一位全心相信上帝，充满圣灵之人）以及还有腓利、伯罗哥罗、尼加挪、提门、巴米拿以及归信犹太教的安提阿人尼哥拉，

6 whom they set before the apostles. When they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.

这几个人站在使徒面前，使徒在祷告结束后就对其按手祝福。

7 The word of God increased and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem; and a large group of the priests were obedient to the faith.

上帝之道继续传播，耶路撒冷的信徒人数大幅增加，很多祭司也选择坚信了耶稣。

8 Stephen, full of grace and power, performed great wonders and signs among the people.

司提芬是一位满受恩惠、拥有上帝力量之人，在民众中施行很多惊人奇迹。

9 But some of those who were of the synagogue called "The Libertines," and of the Cyrenians, of the Alexandrians, and of those of Cilicia and Asia arose, disputing with Stephen.

但有人开始和他争论，其中有几人来自“自由”会堂，还有几名古利奈人、亚历山太人、基利家人和亚西亚人。

10 They weren't able to withstand the wisdom and the Spirit by which he spoke.

但司提芬所言有圣灵和智慧加持，众人无法占上风。

11 Then they secretly induced men to say, "We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses and God."

于是他们唆使其他人，说：“我们听过他说过亵渎摩西和上帝的话！”

12 They stirred up the people, the elders, and the scribes, and came against him and seized him, and brought him in to the council,

他们还煽动民众、长老、宗教老师，派人来捉拿司提芬，把他带到公议会，

13 and set up false witnesses who said, "This man never stops speaking blasphemous words against this holy place and the Law.

然后提供假证供说：“这人总是在抨击圣殿和律法。

14 For we have heard him say that this Jesus the Nazorean will destroy this place, and will change the customs which Moses delivered to us."

我们听他说过：‘这拿撒勒人耶稣将破坏圣殿，改变摩西传给我们的律法。’”

15 All who sat in the council, fastening their eyes on him, saw his face like it was the face of an angel.

当时坐在公议会里的所有人都注视着他，他的面孔闪着光，如天使一般。
