< Acts 19 >

1 It happened that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul, having passed through the upper country, came to Ephesus, and found certain disciples.
کَرِنْتھَنَگَرَ آپَلَّسَح سْتھِتِکالے پَولَ اُتَّرَپْرَدیشَیراگَچّھَنْ اِپھِشَنَگَرَمْ اُپَسْتھِتَوانْ۔ تَتْرَ کَتِپَیَشِشْیانْ ساکْشَتْ پْراپْیَ تانْ اَپرِچّھَتْ،
2 He said to them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" They said to him, "No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit."
یُویَں وِشْوَسْیَ پَوِتْرَماتْمانَں پْراپْتا نَ وا؟ تَتَسْتے پْرَتْیَوَدَنْ پَوِتْرَ آتْما دِییَتے اِتْیَسْمابھِح شْرُتَمَپِ نَہِ۔
3 He said, "Into what then were you baptized?" They said, "Into John's baptism."
تَدا ساوَدَتْ تَرْہِ یُویَں کینَ مَجِّتا اَبھَوَتَ؟ تےکَتھَیَنْ یوہَنو مَجَّنینَ۔
4 Paul said, "John indeed baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe in the one who would come after him, that is, in Jesus."
تَدا پَولَ اُکْتَوانْ اِتَح پَرَں یَ اُپَسْتھاسْیَتِ تَسْمِنْ اَرْتھَتَ یِیشُکھْرِیشْٹے وِشْوَسِتَوْیَمِتْیُکْتْوا یوہَنْ مَنَحپَرِوَرْتَّنَسُوچَکینَ مَجَّنینَ جَلے لوکانْ اَمَجَّیَتْ۔
5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
تادرِشِیں کَتھاں شْرُتْوا تے پْرَبھو رْیِیشُکھْرِیشْٹَسْیَ نامْنا مَجِّتا اَبھَوَنْ۔
6 When Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke with other tongues and prophesied.
تَتَح پَولینَ تیشاں گاتْریشُ کَرےرْپِتے تیشامُپَرِ پَوِتْرَ آتْماوَرُوڈھَوانْ، تَسْماتْ تے نانادیشِییا بھاشا بھَوِشْیَتْکَتھاشْچَ کَتھِتَوَنْتَح۔
7 They were about twelve men in all.
تے پْرایینَ دْوادَشَجَنا آسَنْ۔
8 He entered into the synagogue, and spoke boldly for a period of three months, reasoning and persuading about the things concerning the Kingdom of God.
پَولو بھَجَنَبھَوَنَں گَتْوا پْرایینَ ماسَتْرَیَمْ اِیشْوَرَسْیَ راجْیَسْیَ وِچارَں کرِتْوا لوکانْ پْرَوَرْتْیَ ساہَسینَ کَتھامَکَتھَیَتْ۔
9 But when some were hardened and disobedient, speaking evil of the Way before the crowd, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, reasoning daily in the school of Tyrannus.
کِنْتُ کَٹھِنانْتَحکَرَنَتْواتْ کِیَنْتو جَنا نَ وِشْوَسْیَ سَرْوّیشاں سَمَکْشَمْ ایتَتْپَتھَسْیَ نِنْداں کَرْتُّں پْرَورِتّاح، اَتَح پَولَسْتیشاں سَمِیپاتْ پْرَسْتھایَ شِشْیَگَنَں پرِتھَکّرِتْوا پْرَتْیَہَں تُرانَّنامْنَح کَسْیَچِتْ جَنَسْیَ پاٹھَشالایاں وِچارَں کرِتَوانْ۔
10 This continued for two years, so that all those who lived in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.
اِتّھَں وَتْسَرَدْوَیَں گَتَں تَسْمادْ آشِیادیشَنِواسِنَح سَرْوّے یِہُودِییا اَنْیَدیشِییَلوکاشْچَ پْرَبھو رْیِیشوح کَتھامْ اَشْرَوشَنْ۔
11 God worked special miracles by the hands of Paul,
پَولینَ چَ اِیشْوَرَ ایتادرِشانْیَدْبھُتانِ کَرْمّانِ کرِتَوانْ
12 so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were carried away from his body to the sick, and the evil spirits went out.
یَتْ پَرِدھییے گاتْرَمارْجَنَوَسْتْرے وا تَسْیَ دیہاتْ پِیڈِتَلوکانامْ سَمِیپَمْ آنِیتے تے نِرامَیا جاتا اَپَوِتْرا بھُوتاشْچَ تیبھْیو بَہِرْگَتَوَنْتَح۔
13 But some of the itinerant Jews, exorcists, took on themselves to invoke over those who had the evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, "I adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preaches."
تَدا دیشاٹَنَکارِنَح کِیَنْتو یِہُودِییا بھُوتاپَسارِنو بھُوتَگْرَسْتَنوکاناں سَنِّدھَو پْرَبھے رْیِیشو رْنامَ جَپْتْوا واکْیَمِدَمْ اَوَدَنْ، یَسْیَ کَتھاں پَولَح پْرَچارَیَتِ تَسْیَ یِیشو رْنامْنا یُشْمانْ آجْناپَیامَح۔
14 There were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, who did this.
سْکِوَنامْنو یِہُودِییاناں پْرَدھانَیاجَکَسْیَ سَپْتَبھِح پُتَّیسْتَتھا کرِتے سَتِ
15 The evil spirit answered, "Jesus I know, and Paul I know, but who are you?"
کَشْچِدْ اَپَوِتْرو بھُوتَح پْرَتْیُدِتَوانْ، یِیشُں جانامِ پَولَنْچَ پَرِچِنومِ کِنْتُ کے یُویَں؟
16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was, having leapt on them, having overpowered them all, prevailed against them so that they fled from that house naked and wounded.
اِتْیُکْتْوا سوپَوِتْرَبھُوتَگْرَسْتو مَنُشْیو لَمْپھَں کرِتْوا تیشامُپَرِ پَتِتْوا بَلینَ تانْ جِتَوانْ، تَسْماتّے نَگْناح کْشَتانْگاشْچَ سَنْتَسْتَسْمادْ گیہاتْ پَلایَنْتَ۔
17 This became known to all, both Jews and Greeks, who lived at Ephesus. Fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.
سا واگْ اِپھِشَنَگَرَنِواسِنَسَں سَرْوّیشاں یِہُودِییاناں بھِنَّدیشِییاناں لوکانانْچَ شْرَووگوچَرِیبھُوتا؛ تَتَح سَرْوّے بھَیَں گَتاح پْرَبھو رْیِیشو رْنامْنو یَشو وَرْدّھَتَ۔
18 Many also of those who had believed came, confessing, and declaring their deeds.
ییشامَنیکیشاں لوکاناں پْرَتِیتِرَجایَتَ تَ آگَتْیَ سْوَیح کرِتاح کْرِیاح پْرَکاشَرُوپینانْگِیکرِتَوَنْتَح۔
19 Many of those who practiced magical arts brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. They counted the price of them, and found it to be fifty thousand pieces of silver.
بَہَوو مایاکَرْمَّکارِنَح سْوَسْوَگْرَنْتھانْ آنِییَ راشِیکرِتْیَ سَرْوّیشاں سَمَکْشَمْ اَداہَیَنْ، تَتو گَنَناں کرِتْوابُدھْیَنْتَ پَنْچایُتَرُوپْیَمُدْرامُولْیَپُسْتَکانِ دَگْدھانِ۔
20 So the word of the Lord was growing and becoming mighty.
اِتّھَں پْرَبھوح کَتھا سَرْوَّدیشَں وْیاپْیَ پْرَبَلا جاتا۔
21 Now after these things had ended, Paul determined in the spirit, when he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, "After I have been there, I must also see Rome."
سَرْوّیشْویتیشُ کَرْمَّسُ سَمْپَنّیشُ سَتْسُ پَولو ماکِدَنِیاکھایادیشابھْیاں یِرُوشالَمَں گَنْتُں مَتِں کرِتْوا کَتھِتَوانْ تَتْسْتھانَں یاتْرایاں کرِتایاں سَتْیاں مَیا رومانَگَرَں دْرَشْٹَوْیَں۔
22 Having sent into Macedonia two of those who served him, Timothy and Erastus, he himself stayed in Asia for a while.
سْوانُگَتَلوکاناں تِیمَتھِییراسْتَو دْوَو جَنَو ماکِدَنِیادیشَں پْرَتِ پْرَہِتْیَ سْوَیَمْ آشِیادیشے کَتِپَیَدِنانِ سْتھِتَوانْ۔
23 About that time there arose no small stir concerning the Way.
کِنْتُ تَسْمِنْ سَمَیے مَتےسْمِنْ کَلَہو جاتَح۔
24 For a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, who made silver shrines of Artemis, brought no little business to the craftsmen,
تَتْکارَنَمِدَں، اَرْتِّمِیدیوْیا رُوپْیَمَنْدِرَنِرْمّانینَ سَرْوّیشاں شِلْپِناں یَتھیشْٹَلابھَمْ اَجَنَیَتْ یو دِیمِیتْرِیَناما ناڈِینْدھَمَح
25 whom he gathered together, with the workmen of like occupation, and said, "Sirs, you know that by this business we have our wealth.
سَ تانْ تَتْکَرْمَّجِیوِنَح سَرْوَّلوکاںشْچَ سَماہُویَ بھاشِتَوانْ ہے مَہیچّھا ایتینَ مَنْدِرَنِرْمّانیناسْماکَں جِیوِکا بھَوَتِ، ایتَدْ یُویَں وِتّھَ؛
26 You see and hear, that not at Ephesus alone, but almost throughout all Asia, this Paul has persuaded and turned away many people, saying that they are no gods, that are made with hands.
کِنْتُ ہَسْتَنِرْمِّتیشْوَرا اِیشْوَرا نَہِ پَولَنامْنا کینَچِجَّنینَ کَتھامِماں وْیاہرِتْیَ کیوَلیپھِشَنَگَرے نَہِ پْرایینَ سَرْوَّسْمِنْ آشِیادیشے پْرَورِتِّں گْراہَیِتْوا بَہُلوکاناں شیمُشِی پَراوَرْتِّتا، ایتَدْ یُشْمابھِ رْدرِشْیَتے شْرُویَتے چَ۔
27 Not only is there danger that this our trade come into disrepute; but also that the temple of the great goddess Artemis will be counted as nothing, and that she should even be deposed from her magnificence, whom all Asia and the world worships."
تیناسْماکَں وانِجْیَسْیَ سَرْوَّتھا ہانیح سَمْبھَوَنَں کیوَلَمِتِ نَہِ، آشِیادیشَسْتھَے رْوا سَرْوَّجَگَتْسْتھَے رْلوکَیح پُوجْیا یارْتِمِی مَہادیوِی تَسْیا مَنْدِرَسْیاوَجْنانَسْیَ تَسْیا اَیشْوَرْیَّسْیَ ناشَسْیَ چَ سَمْبھاوَنا وِدْیَتے۔
28 When they heard this they were filled with anger, and began to shout, saying, "Great is Artemis of the Ephesians."
ایتادرِشِیں کَتھاں شْرُتْوا تے مَہاکْرودھانْوِتاح سَنْتَ اُچَّیحکارَں کَتھِتَوَنْتَ اِپھِشِییانامْ اَرْتِّمِی دیوِی مَہَتِی بھَوَتِ۔
29 The city was filled with confusion, and they rushed with one accord into the theater, having seized Gaius and Aristarchus, Macedonians, Paul's companions in travel.
تَتَح سَرْوَّنَگَرَں کَلَہینَ پَرِپُورْنَمَبھَوَتْ، تَتَح پَرَں تے ماکِدَنِییَگایارِسْتارْکھَنامانَو پَولَسْیَ دْوَو سَہَچَرَو دھرِتْوَیکَچِتّا رَنْگَبھُومِں جَوینَ دھاوِتَوَنْتَح۔
30 When Paul wanted to enter in to the people, the disciples did not allow him.
تَتَح پَولو لوکاناں سَنِّدھِں یاتُمْ اُدْیَتَوانْ کِنْتُ شِشْیَگَنَسْتَں وارِتَوانْ۔
31 And also some of the Asiarchs, who were his friends, sent to him and urged him not to venture into the theater.
پَولَسْیَتْمِییا آشِیادیشَسْتھاح کَتِپَیاح پْرَدھانَلوکاسْتَسْیَ سَمِیپَں نَرَمیکَں پْریشْیَ تْوَں رَنْگَبھُومِں ماگا اِتِ نْیَویدَیَنْ۔
32 Some therefore shouted one thing, and some another, for the assembly was in confusion. Most of them did not know why they had come together.
تَتو نانالوکاناں ناناکَتھاکَتھَناتْ سَبھا وْیاکُلا جاتا کِں کارَنادْ ایتاوَتِی جَنَتابھَوَتْ ایتَدْ اَدھِکَے رْلوکَے رْناجْنایِ۔
33 They brought Alexander out of the crowd, the Jews putting him forward. Alexander beckoned with his hand, and would have made a defense to the people.
تَتَح پَرَں جَنَتامَدھْیادْ یِہُودِییَیرْبَہِشْکرِتَح سِکَنْدَرو ہَسْتینَ سَنْکیتَں کرِتْوا لوکیبھْیَ اُتَّرَں داتُمُدْیَتَوانْ،
34 But when they perceived that he was a Jew, all with one voice for a time of about two hours shouted, "Great is Artemis of the Ephesians."
کِنْتُ سَ یِہُودِییَلوکَ اِتِ نِشْچِتے سَتِ اِپھِشِییانامْ اَرْتِّمِی دیوِی مَہَتِیتِ واکْیَں پْرایینَ پَنْچَ دَنْڈانْ یاوَدْ ایکَسْوَرینَ لوکَنِوَہَیح پْروکْتَں۔
35 When the town clerk had quieted the crowd, he said, "You men of Ephesus, is there anyone who does not know that the city of the Ephesians is temple keeper of the great Artemis, and of the image which fell down from Zeus?
تَتو نَگَرادھِپَتِسْتانْ سْتھِرانْ کرِتْوا کَتھِتَوانْ ہے اِپھِشایاح سَرْوّے لوکا آکَرْنَیَتَ، اَرْتِمِیمَہادیوْیا مَہادیواتْ پَتِتایاسْتَتْپْرَتِمایاشْچَ پُوجَنَمَ اِپھِشَنَگَرَسْتھاح سَرْوّے لوکاح کُرْوَّنْتِ، ایتَتْ کے نَ جانَنْتِ؟
36 Seeing then that these things cannot be denied, you ought to be quiet, and to do nothing rash.
تَسْمادْ ایتَتْپْرَتِکُولَں کیپِ کَتھَیِتُں نَ شَکْنُوَنْتِ، اِتِ جْناتْوا یُشْمابھِح سُسْتھِرَتْوینَ سْتھاتَوْیَمْ اَوِوِچْیَ کِمَپِ کَرْمَّ نَ کَرْتَّوْیَنْچَ۔
37 For you have brought these men here, who are neither robbers of temples nor blasphemers of our goddess.
یانْ ایتانْ مَنُشْیانْ یُویَمَتْرَ سَمانَیَتَ تے مَنْدِرَدْرَوْیاپَہارَکا یُشْماکَں دیوْیا نِنْدَکاشْچَ نَ بھَوَنْتِ۔
38 If therefore Demetrius and the craftsmen who are with him have a matter against anyone, the courts are open, and there are proconsuls. Let them press charges against one another.
یَدِ کَنْچَنَ پْرَتِ دِیمِیتْرِیَسْیَ تَسْیَ سَہایانانْچَ کاچِدْ آپَتِّ رْوِدْیَتے تَرْہِ پْرَتِنِدھِلوکا وِچارَسْتھانَنْچَ سَنْتِ، تے تَتْ سْتھانَں گَتْوا اُتَّرَپْرَتْیُتَّرے کُرْوَّنْتُ۔
39 But if you seek anything further, it will be settled in the regular assembly.
کِنْتُ یُشْماکَں کاچِدَپَرا کَتھا یَدِ تِشْٹھَتِ تَرْہِ نِیَمِتایاں سَبھایاں تَسْیا نِشْپَتِّ رْبھَوِشْیَتِ۔
40 For indeed we are in danger of being accused concerning this day's riot, there being no cause. Concerning it, we would not be able to give an account of this commotion."
کِنْتْویتَسْیَ وِرودھَسْیوتَّرَں یینَ داتُں شَکْنُمْ ایتادرِشَسْیَ کَسْیَچِتْ کارَنَسْیابھاوادْ اَدْیَتَنَگھَٹَناہیتو راجَدْروہِنامِواسْماکَمْ اَبھِیوگو بھَوِشْیَتِیتِ شَنْکا وِدْیَتے۔
41 When he had thus spoken, he dismissed the assembly.
اِتِ کَتھَیِتْوا سَ سَبھاسْتھَلوکانْ وِسرِشْٹَوانْ۔
