2 Chronicles 17
1 Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his place, and strengthened himself against Israel.
Tedy królował Jozafat, syn jego miasto niego, a zmocnił się przeciw Izraelowi.
2 He placed forces in all the fortified cities of Judah, and set garrisons in the land of Judah, and in the cities of Ephraim, which Asa his father had taken.
I osadził żołnierzem wszystkie miasta Judzkie obronne; osadził też i ziemię Judzką, także miasta Efraimskie, które był pobrał Aza, ojciec jego.
3 The LORD was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father, and did not seek the Baals,
A był Pan z Jozafatem, przeto, iż chodził drogami pierwszemi Dawida, ojca swego, a nie szukał Baalów;
4 but sought to the God of his father, and walked in his commandments, and not after the doings of Israel.
Ale Boga ojca swego szukał, i w przykazaniach jego chodził, a nie według spraw ludu Izraelskiego.
5 Therefore the LORD established the kingdom in his hand; and all Judah brought to Jehoshaphat tribute; and he had riches and honor in abundance.
I utwierdził Pan królestwo w ręce jego; a dawał wszystek lud Judzki dary Jozafatowi, tak iż miał bogactwa, i sławę bardzo wielką.
6 His heart was lifted up in the ways of the LORD: and furthermore he took away the high places and the Asherim out of Judah.
A nabywszy wielkiego serca na drogach Pańskich, tem więcej znosił wyżyny i gaje bałwochwalcze z ziemi Judzkiej.
7 Also in the third year of his reign he sent his officials, even Ben Hail, and Obadiah, and Zechariah, and Nethanel, and Micaiah, to teach in the cities of Judah;
Potem roku trzeciego królowania swego posłał książąt swoich, Benchaila, i Obadyjasza, i Zacharyjasza, i Natanaela, i Micheasza, aby uczyli w miastach Judzkich.
8 and with them the Levites, even Shemaiah, and Nethaniah, and Zebadiah, and Asahel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehonathan, and Adonijah, and Tobijah, and Tobadonijah, the Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, the priests.
A przy nich Lewitów, Semejasza, i Natanijasza, i Zabadyjasza, i Asaela i Semiramota, i Jonatana, i Adonijasza, i Tobijasza, i Tobadonijasza, Lewitów; a z nimi Elisama, i Jorama, kapłanów;
9 They taught in Judah, having the scroll of the law of the LORD with them; and they went about throughout all the cities of Judah, and taught among the people.
Którzy uczyli w Judzie, mając z sobą księgi zakonu Pańskiego, i obchodzili wszystkie miasta Judzkie, i nauczali lud.
10 The fear of the LORD fell on all the kingdoms of the lands that were around Judah, so that they made no war against Jehoshaphat.
Przetoż przyszedł strach Pański na wszystkie królestwa ziemi, które były około Judy, i nie śmieli walczyć przeciw Jozafatowi.
11 Some of the Philistines brought Jehoshaphat presents, and silver for tribute; the Arabians also brought him flocks, seven thousand and seven hundred rams, and seven thousand and seven hundred male goats.
Nawet i Filistynowie przynosili Jozafatowi dary i dań pieniężną. Arabczycy też przygnali mu drobnego bydła, baranów siedm tysięcy i siedm set, kozłów także siedm tysięcy i siedm set.
12 Jehoshaphat grew great exceedingly; and he built in Judah fortresses and cities of store.
Wzmagał się tedy Jozafat, i rosł nader bardzo, i pobudował w Judzie zamki, i miasta dla składów.
13 He had many works in the cities of Judah; and men of war, mighty men of valor, in Jerusalem.
A pracy wiele podjął około miast Judzkich; mężów też walecznych i potężnych miał w Jeruzalemie.
14 This was the numbering of them according to their fathers' houses: Of Judah, the captains of thousands: Adnah the captain, and with him mighty men of valor three hundred thousand;
A tać jest liczba ich według domów ojców ich: z Judy książęta nad tysiącami: książę Adna, a z nim bardzo dużych mężów trzy kroć sto tysięcy.
15 and next to him Jehohanan the captain, and with him two hundred eighty thousand;
A po nim książę Johanan, a z nim dwa kroć sto tysięcy, i ośmdziesiąt tysięcy.
16 and next to him Amasiah the son of Zikri, who willingly offered himself to the LORD; and with him two hundred thousand mighty men of valor.
A po nim Amazyjasz, syn Zychry, który się był dobrowolnie oddał Panu, a z nim dwa kroć sto tysięcy mężów dużych.
17 Of Benjamin: Eliada a mighty man of valor, and with him two hundred thousand armed with bow and shield;
Przytem z synów Benjaminowych, mąż duży Elijada, a z nim ludu zbrojnego z łukami i z tarczami dwa kroć sto tysięcy.
18 and next to him Jehozabad and with him one hundred eighty thousand ready prepared for war.
A po nim Jozabad, a z nim sto i ośmdziesięt tysięcy gotowych do boju.
19 These were those who waited on the king, besides those whom the king put in the fortified cities throughout all Judah.
Ci służyli królowi, oprócz tych, którymi był król osadził miasta obronne po wszystkiej ziemi Judzkiej.
