< Romans 8 >
1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Messiah Yeshua.
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Ruach of life in Messiah Yeshua has set you free from the law of sin and of death.
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death.
3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God did, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh;
For what the law was powerless to do since it was weak through the flesh, God has done. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh,
4 so that the requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Ruach.
so that the requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Ruach, the things of the Ruach.
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.
6 For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Ruach is life and peace;
Now the mindset of the flesh is death, but the mindset of the Spirit is life and peace.
7 because the mind set on the flesh is hostile towards God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot.
The mindset of the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to the law of God; indeed, it is unable to do so.
8 And those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
That is why those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Ruach, if it is so that the Ruach of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Ruach of Messiah, he does not belong to him.
You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.
10 And if Messiah is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Ruach gives life because of righteousness.
But if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the spirit is alive because of righteousness.
11 But if the Ruach of him who raised up Yeshua from the dead dwells in you, he who raised up Messiah from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Ruach who dwells in you.
And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who dwells in you.
12 So then, brothers, we have no obligation to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
So then, brothers, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh,
13 For if you live after the flesh, you must die; but if by the Ruach you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
for if you live according to the flesh, you are going to die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
14 For as many as are led by the Ruach of God, these are sons of God.
For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Ruach of adoption, by whom we cry, "Abba. Father."
For you did not receive a spirit of slavery leading again to fear, but a spirit of adoption as sons, by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!”
16 The Ruach himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God;
The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God.
17 and if children, then heirs; heirs of God and fellow heirs with Messiah; if indeed we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified with him.
Now if we are children, we are also heirs, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with him so that we may also be glorified with him.
18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which will be revealed to us.
I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing to the glory that will be revealed to us.
19 For the creation waits with eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed.
The creation waits with eager longing for the sons of God to be revealed.
20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not of its own will, but because of him who subjected it, in hope
For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope
21 that the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of decay into the glorious freedom of the children of God.
that the creation itself will also be set free from the slavery of corruption and brought into the freedom of the glory of the children of God.
22 For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers with labor pains together until now.
For we know that all creation has been groaning together with labor pains until now.
23 And not only this, but ourselves also, who have the first fruits of the Ruach, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for adoption, the redemption of our body.
Not only that, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we eagerly await our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.
24 For we were saved in hope, but hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for that which he sees?
For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope, for why would someone hope for what he already sees?
25 But if we hope for that which we do not see, we wait for it with patience.
But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with patient endurance.
26 And in the same way, the Ruach also helps us in our weakness, for we do not know how to pray as we ought. But the Ruach himself makes intercession for us with inexpressible groanings.
In the same way the Spirit also helps us in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with inexpressible groanings.
27 And he who searches the hearts knows what is on the Ruach's mind, because he makes intercession for the kadoshim in accordance with God.
And he who searches the hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
28 And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.
And we know that all things work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose.
29 For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.
Because those whom he foreknew he also foreordained to be conformed to the image of his Son, so that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.
30 Whom he predestined, those he also called. Whom he called, those he also justified. Whom he justified, those he also glorified.
And those whom he foreordained, he also called; and those whom he called, he also justified; and those whom he justified, he also glorified.
31 What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
What then shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
32 He who did not spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how would he not also with him freely give us all things?
He who did not spare his own Son but delivered him up for us all, how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?
33 Who could bring a charge against God's chosen ones? It is God who justifies.
Who will bring an accusation against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies.
34 Who is he who condemns? It is Messiah who died, and more than that, who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.
Who is to condemn? Christ is the one who died, but more than that, he was raised and is at the right hand of God, interceding for us.
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Messiah? Could oppression, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?
Who can separate us from the love of Christ? Can tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?
36 Even as it is written, "For your sake we are killed all day long. We were regarded as sheep to be slaughtered."
As it is written, “For yoʋr sake we face death all day long; we are regarded as sheep for slaughter.”
37 No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,
For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Messiah Yeshua our Lord.
nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
