Romans 3
1 Then what advantage does the Jew have? Or what is the profit of circumcision?
Mi tekintetben különb hát a zsidó? vagy micsoda haszna van a körülmetélkedésnek?
2 Much in every way. Because first of all, they were entrusted with the oracles of God.
Minden tekintetben sok. Mindenek előtt, hogy az Isten reájok bízta az ő beszédeit.
3 For what if some were without faith? Will their lack of faith nullify the faithfulness of God?
De hát hogy ha némelyek nem hittek? Vajjon azoknak hitetlensége nem teszi-é hiábavalóvá az Istennek hűségét?
4 Absolutely not. Let God be found true, but every human being a liar. As it is written, "That you may be justified in your words, and prevail when you judge."
Távol legyen. Sőt inkább az Isten legyen igaz, minden ember pedig hazug, a mint meg van írva: Hogy igaznak ítéltessél a te beszédeidben, és győzedelmes légy, mikor vádolnak téged.
5 But if our unrighteousness commends the righteousness of God, what will we say? Is God unrighteous who inflicts wrath? (I am speaking in human terms).
Ha pedig a mi igazságtalanságunk az Istennek igazságát mutatja meg, mit mondjunk? Vajjon igazságtalan-é az Isten, hogy minket büntet? Emberi módon szólok.
6 Absolutely not. For then how will God judge the world?
Távol legyen! Mert akkor mi módon ítéli meg az Isten a világot?
7 For if the truth of God through my lie abounded to his glory, why am I also still judged as a sinner?
Mert ha az Istennek igazsága az én hazugságom által öregbült az ő dicsőségére, miért kárhoztattatom még én is, mint bűnös?
8 And why not (as we are slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say), "Let us do evil, that good may come?" Their condemnation is just.
Sőt inkább ne cselekedjük-é a rosszat, hogy abból jó származzék? – a mint minket rágalmaznak, és a mint némelyek mondogatják, hogy mi így beszélünk, a kiknek kárhoztatása igazságos.
9 What then? Are we better than they? No, in no way. For we previously warned both Jews and Greeks, that they are all under sin.
Micsoda tehát? Különbek vagyunk-é? Semmiképen nem. Mert az elébb megmutattuk nyilván, hogy zsidók és görögök mindnyájan bűn alatt vannak;
10 As it is written, "There is no one righteous; no, not one."
A mint meg van írva, hogy nincsen csak egy igaz is;
11 "There is no one who understands. There is no one who seeks after God.
Nincs, a ki megértse, nincs, a ki keresse az Istent.
12 They have all turned aside. They have together become unprofitable. There is no one who does good, there is not even one."
Mindnyájan elhajlottak, egyetemben haszontalanokká lettek; nincs, a ki jót cselekedjék, nincsen csak egy is.
13 "Their throat is an open tomb. With their tongues they have used deceit." "Viper's poison is under their lips;"
Nyitott sír az ő torkuk; nyelvökkel álnokságot szólnak; áspis kígyó mérge van ajkaik alatt.
14 "Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness."
Szájok telve átkozódással és keserűséggel.
15 "Their feet are swift to shed blood.
Lábaik gyorsak a vérontásra.
16 Destruction and calamity are in their paths.
Útjaikon romlás és nyomorúság van.
17 The way of peace, they have not known."
És a békességnek útját nem ismerik.
18 "There is no fear of God before their eyes."
Nincs isteni félelem az ő szemök előtt.
19 Now we know that whatever things the law says, it speaks to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be closed, and all the world may be brought under the judgment of God.
Tudjuk pedig, hogy a mit a törvény mond, azoknak mondja, a kik a törvény alatt vannak; hogy minden száj bedugassék, és az egész világ Isten ítélete alá essék.
20 Because by the works of the law, no flesh will be justified in his sight. For through the law comes the knowledge of sin.
Annakokáért a törvénynek cselekedeteiből egy test sem igazul meg ő előtte: mert a bűn ismerete a törvény által vagyon.
21 But now apart from the law, a righteousness of God has been revealed, being testified by the Law and the Prophets;
Most pedig törvény nélkül jelent meg az Istennek igazsága, a melyről tanúbizonyságot tesznek a törvény és a próféták;
22 even the righteousness of God through faith in Yeshua the Messiah to all who believe. For there is no distinction,
Istennek igazsága pedig a Jézus Krisztusban való hit által mindazokhoz és mindazoknak, a kik hisznek. Mert nincs különbség,
23 for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God;
Mert mindnyájan vétkeztek, és szűkölködnek az Isten dicsősége nélkül.
24 being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Messiah Yeshua;
Megigazulván ingyen az ő kegyelméből a Krisztus Jézusban való váltság által,
25 whom God displayed publicly as a mercy seat, through faith in his blood, for a demonstration of his righteousness, because in God's forbearance he had passed over the sins previously committed;
Kit az Isten eleve rendelt engesztelő áldozatul, hit által, az ő vérében, hogy megmutassa az ő igazságát az előbb elkövetett bűnöknek elnézése miatt,
26 to demonstrate his righteousness at this present time, so that he would be just, and the justifier of him who has faith in Yeshua.
Az Isten hosszútűrésénél fogva, az ő igazságának megbizonyítására, a mostani időben, hogy igaz legyen Ő és megigazítsa azt, a ki a Jézus hitéből való.
27 Where then is the boasting? It is excluded. By what manner of law? Of works? No, but by a law of faith.
Hol van tehát a dicsekedés? Kirekesztetett. Mely törvény által? A cselekedeteké által? Nem; hanem a hit törvénye által.
28 For we maintain that one is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.
Azt tartjuk tehát, hogy az ember hit által igazul meg, a törvény cselekedetei nélkül.
29 Or is God for Jews only? Is he not the God of the non-Jews also? Yes, of the non-Jews also,
Avagy Isten csak a zsidóké-e? Avagy nem a pogányoké is? Bizony a pogányoké is.
30 since indeed there is one God who will justify the circumcised by faith, and the uncircumcised through faith.
Mivelhogy egy az Isten, a ki megigazítja a zsidót hitből és a pogányt hit által.
31 Do we then nullify the law through faith? Absolutely not. No, we establish the law.
A törvényt tehát hiábavalóvá tesszük-é a hit által? Távol legyen! Sőt inkább a törvényt megerősítjük.
