Psalms 43

1 Vindicate me, God, and plead my cause against a faithless nation. Oh, deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man.

Schaff Recht mir, Gott! Und führe meine Sache. gen solch ein lieblos Heidenvolk! Von falschen, bösen Leuten rette mich!

2 For you, God, are my strength. Why have you rejected me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?

Mein Schutzgott bist ja Du. Warum verstößt Du mich? Warum muß ich in Trauer wandeln, vom Feind gedrängt?

3 Oh, send out your light and your truth. Let them lead me. Let them bring me to your holy mountain, To your tents.

Send aus Dein Licht und Deine Wahrheit, daß sie zu Deinem heiligen Berg mich leiten, zu Deinen Wohnungen mich führen! -

4 Then I will go to the altar of God, to God, my exceeding joy. I will praise you on the harp, God, my God.

Ich möchte zum Altare Gottes kommen, zum Gotte meiner höchsten Wonne. Dann brächte ich Dir mit der Zither Lobpreis dar, du Gott, mein Gott. -

5 Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God. For I will again give him thanks, my saving presence and my God.

Was härmst du dich, mein Herz? Warum ist dir so bang in mir? Auf Gott vertrau! Ihn preise ich gewißlich noch, ihn, meine Hilfe, meinen Gott.
