Psalms 27
1 [By David.] The LORD is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid?
Psalm Dawida. PAN jest moją światłością i moim zbawieniem, kogóż będę się bać? PAN jest mocą mego życia, kogóż mam się lękać?
2 When evildoers came at me to eat up my flesh, even my adversaries and my foes, they stumbled and fell.
Gdy złoczyńcy, moi przeciwnicy i wrogowie, wystąpili przeciwko mnie, aby pożreć moje ciało, potknęli się i upadli.
3 Though an army is deployed against me, my heart shall not fear. Though war should rise against me, even then I will be confident.
Choćby wojsko rozbiło naprzeciw mnie obóz, moje serce się nie ulęknie; choćby wojna wybuchła przeciw mnie, nawet wtedy będę ufał.
4 One thing I have asked of the LORD, that I will seek after, that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to see the LORD's beauty, and to inquire in his temple.
O jedno proszę PANA i o to będę zabiegał: abym mieszkał w domu PANA po wszystkie dni mego życia, abym oglądał piękno PANA i dowiadywał się w jego świątyni.
5 For in the day of trouble he will keep me secretly in his pavilion. In the covert of his tabernacle he will hide me. He will lift me up on a rock.
Skryje mnie bowiem w dniu niedoli w swoim przybytku, schowa mnie w ukryciu swego namiotu [i] wyniesie mnie na skałę.
6 Now my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me. I will offer sacrifices of joy in his tent. I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the LORD.
A teraz moja głowa będzie wzniesiona nad moimi nieprzyjaciółmi, którzy mnie otaczają; będę składał w jego przybytku ofiary radości, będę śpiewał i oddawał PANU chwałę.
7 Hear, LORD, when I cry with my voice. Have mercy also on me, and answer me.
Usłysz, PANIE, mój głos, [gdy] wołam; zmiłuj się nade mną i wysłuchaj mnie.
8 My heart said of you, "Seek his face." Your face, LORD, I will seek.
[Gdy mówiłeś]: Szukajcie mojego oblicza, moje serce mówiło do ciebie: Twojego oblicza, PANIE, będę szukać.
9 Do not hide your face from me. Do not put your servant away in anger. You have been my help. Do not abandon me, neither forsake me, God of my salvation.
Nie ukrywaj przede mną twojego oblicza ani nie odtrącaj w gniewie swego sługi; ty jesteś moją pomocą, nie opuszczaj mnie i nie odchodź, Boże mego zbawienia.
10 When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.
Choćby ojciec i matka opuścili mnie, to PAN mnie przygarnie.
11 Teach me your way, LORD. Lead me in a straight path, because of my enemies.
Naucz mnie, PANIE, twojej drogi i prowadź mnie ścieżką prostą ze względu na moich wrogów.
12 Do not deliver me over to the desire of my adversaries, for false witnesses have risen up against me, such as breathe out violence.
Nie wydawaj mnie na pastwę moich nieprzyjaciół, bo powstali przeciwko mnie fałszywi świadkowie i ci, którzy dyszą okrucieństwem.
13 I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
[Zniechęciłbym się], gdybym nie wierzył, że będę oglądał dobroć PANA w ziemi żyjących.
14 Wait for the LORD. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for the LORD.
Oczekuj PANA, bądź dzielny, [a on] umocni twoje serce; oczekuj więc PANA.
