< Psalms 20 >

1 [For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by David.] May the LORD answer you in the day of trouble. May the name of the God of Jacob set you up on high.
(Til sangmesteren. En salme af David.) På trængselens dag bønhøre Herren dig, værne dig Jakobs Guds Navn!
2 He will send you help from the sanctuary, and give you support from Zion.
Han sende dig Hjælp fra Helligdommen, fra Zion styrke han dig;
3 He will remember all your offerings, and accept your burnt sacrifice. (Selah)
(Sela)
4 He will grant you your heart's desire, and fulfill all your plans.
5 We will triumph in your salvation. In the name of our God, we will set up our banners. May the LORD grant all your requests.
at vi må juble over din Frelse, løfte Banner i vor Guds Navn! HERREN opfylde alle dine Bønner!
6 Now I know that the LORD saves his anointed. He will answer him from his holy heaven, with a mighty act of deliverance by his right hand.
7 Some [trust] in chariots, and some in horses, but we trust the name of the LORD our God.
8 They are bowed down and fallen, but we rise up, and stand upright.
9 Save, LORD. Let the King answer us when we call.
