< Psalms 14 >

1 [For the Chief Musician. By David.] The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt. They do abominable works. There is none who does good.
Kwa mtsogoleri wa mayimbidwe. Salimo la Davide. Chitsiru chimati mu mtima mwake, “Kulibe Mulungu.” Oterewa ndi oyipa ndipo ntchito zawo ndi zonyansa; palibe amene amachita zabwino.
2 The LORD looks down from heaven on the descendants of Adam, to see if there are any who are wise, who seek after God.
Yehova kumwamba wayangʼana pansi, kuyangʼana anthu onse kuti aone ngati alipo wina wanzeru, amene amafunafuna Mulungu.
3 They have all turned away. They have together become corrupt. There is no one who does good, no, not one.
Onse atembenukira kumbali, onse pamodzi asanduka oyipa; palibe amene amachita zabwino, palibiretu ndi mmodzi yemwe.
4 Have all evildoers no knowledge, who eat up my people as they eat bread? They do not call on the LORD.
Kodi anthu ochita zoyipawa sadziwa chilichonse? Akudya anthu anga ngati chakudya chawo ndipo satamanda Yehova?
5 There they are utterly terrified, for God is in the generation of the righteous.
Awo ali apowo, agwidwa ndi mantha aakulu, pakuti Mulungu ali mʼgulu la olungama.
6 You would frustrate the plans of the lowly, but the LORD is his refuge.
Inu ochita zoyipa mumalepheretsa chikonzero cha anthu osauka, koma Yehova ndiye pothawirapo pawo.
7 Oh that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion. When the LORD restores the fortunes of his people, may Jacob rejoice, may Israel be glad.
Ndithu, chipulumutso cha Israeli chidzachokera ku Ziyoni! Pamene Yehova abwezeretsa ufulu wa anthu ake, Yakobo akondwere ndipo Israeli asangalale!
