Psalms 124

1 [A Song of Ascents. By David.] If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, let Israel now say,

۱ سرود درجات از داود اگر خداوند با ما نمی بود، اسرائیل الان بگوید؛

2 if it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us;

۲ اگر خداوند با مانمی بود، وقتی که آدمیان با ما مقاومت نمودند،

3 then they would have swallowed us up alive, when their wrath was kindled against us;

۳ آنگاه هر آینه ما را زنده فرو می‌بردند، چون خشم ایشان بر ما افروخته بود.

4 then the waters would have overwhelmed us, the stream would have gone over our soul;

۴ آنگاه آبها ما راغرق می‌کرد و نهرها بر جان ما می‌گذشت.

5 then the proud waters would have gone over our soul.

۵ آنگاه آبهای پر زور، از جان ما می‌گذشت.

6 Blessed be the LORD, who has not given us as a prey to their teeth.

۶ متبارک باد خداوند که ما را شکار برای دندانهای ایشان نساخت.

7 Our soul has escaped like a bird out of the fowler's snare. The snare is broken, and we have escaped.

۷ جان ما مثل مرغ از دام صیادان خلاص شد. دام گسسته شد و ما خلاصی یافتیم.

8 Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.

۸ اعانت ما به نام یهوه است، که آسمان وزمین را آفرید.
