< Proverbs 11 >
1 A false balance is an abomination to the LORD, but accurate weights are his delight.
Awurade kyiri asisie nsania, na nʼani gye nokorɛ nkariboɔ ho.
2 When pride comes, then comes shame, but with humility comes wisdom.
Ahantan ba a, animguaseɛ na ɛdi soɔ nanso ahobrɛaseɛ de nyansa ba.
3 The integrity of the upright shall guide them, but the perverseness of the treacherous shall destroy them.
Teefoɔ nokorɛdie kyerɛ wɔn ɛkwan; nanso nkontompofoɔ ano ntanta sɛe wɔn.
4 Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.
Ahonya nnka hwee abufuhyeɛ da no, nanso tenenee gye nkwa firi owuo mu.
5 The righteousness of the blameless will direct his way, but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.
Wɔn a wɔnnyɛ bɔne teneneeyɛ bɔ ɛkwan tee ma wɔn, nanso amumuyɛfoɔ amumuyɛsɛm brɛ wɔn ase.
6 The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them, but the unfaithful will be trapped by evil desires.
Pɛyɛfoɔ teneneeyɛ gye wɔn, nanso akɔnnɔ bɔne afidie yi nkontompofoɔ.
7 When a wicked man dies, hope perishes, and expectation of power comes to nothing.
Sɛ omumuyɛfoɔ wu a, nʼanidasoɔ yera; deɛ ɔsusuu sɛ ɔbɛnya afiri ne tumi mu nyinaa no yɛ kwa.
8 A righteous person is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked takes his place.
Wɔgye ɔteneneeni firi amaneɛ mu, na ɛba omumuyɛfoɔ so mmom.
9 With his mouth the godless man destroys his neighbor, but the righteous will be delivered through knowledge.
Deɛ ɔnsuro Onyame de nʼano sɛe ne yɔnko, nanso ɔteneneeni nam nimdeɛ so firi mu.
10 When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices. When the wicked perish, there is shouting.
Sɛ teneneefoɔ di yie a, kuropɔn no di ahurisie; nanso amumuyɛfoɔ wu a, wɔbɔ ose.
11 By the blessing of the upright, the city is exalted, but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.
Pɛyɛfoɔ nhyira ma kuropɔn no kɔ so, nanso amumuyɛfoɔ ano bɔ no.
12 One who despises his neighbor is void of wisdom, but a man of understanding holds his peace.
Onipa a ɔnni adwene no bu ne yɔnko animtiaa, nanso deɛ ɔwɔ nhunumu no to ne tɛkrɛma nnareka.
13 One who brings gossip betrays a confidence, but one who is of a trustworthy spirit is one who keeps a secret.
Osekuni da kɔkoamsɛm adi, nanso deɛ yɛnya ne mu ahotosoɔ no kora kasasie so.
14 Where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls, but in the multitude of counselors there is victory.
Ɔman a ɛnni akwankyerɛ no bɔ, nanso afotufoɔ dodoɔ ma nkonimdie ba.
15 He who is collateral for a stranger will suffer for it, but he who refuses pledges of collateral is secure.
Deɛ ɔdi agyinamu ma ɔfoforɔ no bɛhunu amane, na deɛ ɔmmfa ne nsa nhyɛ awowasie ase no aso mu dwo no.
16 A gracious woman obtains honor, but she who hates virtue makes a throne for dishonor. The slothful become destitute, and ruthless men grab wealth.
Ɔbaa a ne yam yɛ no wɔde obuo ma no, nanso mmarima basabasayɛfoɔ nya ahodeɛ nko ara.
17 The merciful man does good to his own soul, but he who is cruel troubles his own flesh.
Ɔyamyɛfoɔ yɛ ma ne ho, na otirimuɔdenfoɔ de ɔhaw ba nʼankasa so.
18 Wicked people earn deceitful wages, but one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward.
Omumuyɛfoɔ nya akatua a ɛnnyina, nanso deɛ ɔgu tenenee aba no twa akatua a ɛdi mu.
19 He who is truly righteous gets life. He who pursues evil gets death.
Deɛ ɔyɛ nokorɛ teneneeni no nya nkwa, nanso deɛ ɔkɔ so yɛ bɔne no kɔ owuo mu.
20 Those who are perverse in heart are an abomination to the LORD, but those whose ways are blameless are his delight.
Awurade kyiri nnipa a wɔn akoma akyinsa, na nʼani gye wɔn a wɔn akwan ho nni asɛm ho.
21 Most certainly, the evil man will not be unpunished, but the descendants of the righteous will be delivered.
Gye to mu sɛ, amumuyɛfoɔ bɛnya wɔn akatua, na teneneefoɔ bɛnya wɔn tiri adi mu.
22 Like a gold ring in a pig's snout, is a beautiful woman who lacks discretion.
Ɔbaa hoɔfɛfoɔ a ɔntumi nsi gyinaeɛ no te sɛ sika kawa a ɛhyɛ prako hwene mu.
23 The desire of the righteous is only good. The expectation of the wicked is wrath.
Teneneefoɔ apɛdeɛ wie yie, nanso amumuyɛfoɔ anidasoɔ wie abufuhyeɛ.
24 There is one who scatters, and increases yet more. There is one who withholds more than is appropriate, but gains poverty.
Obi yɛ adɔeɛ, na ɔnya ne ho bebree; obi nso yɛ adɔna, nanso ɛhia no.
25 The liberal soul shall be made fat. He who waters shall be watered also himself.
Ɔyamyɛfoɔ bɛkɔ so anya ne ho; na deɛ ɔma ebinom mee no nso bɛmee.
26 People curse someone who withholds grain, but blessing will be on the head of him who sells it.
Nnipa dome deɛ ɔde atokoɔ sie, na nhyira ba deɛ ɔtɔn ne deɛ so.
27 He who diligently seeks good seeks favor, but he who searches after evil, it shall come to him.
Deɛ ɔhwehwɛ papa akyiri ɛkwan no nya anisɔ, na deɛ ɔhwehwɛ bɔne no, bɔne ba ne so.
28 He who trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous shall flourish as the green leaf.
Deɛ ɔde ne ho to nʼahonyadeɛ soɔ no bɛhwe ase, na ɔteneneeni bɛyɛ frɔmm sɛ ahahan mono.
29 He who troubles his own house shall inherit the wind. The foolish shall be servant to the wise of heart.
Deɛ ɔde ɔhaw bɛto nʼabusua so no bɛdi mframa adeɛ, na ɔkwasea bɛyɛ onyansafoɔ ɔsomfoɔ.
30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he who plucks that life is wise.
Ɔteneneeni aba yɛ nkwa dua, na deɛ ɔgye akra no yɛ onyansafoɔ.
31 If the righteous is delivered with difficulty, where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?
Sɛ teneneefoɔ nya wɔn akatua wɔ asase so a ɛnneɛ na wɔn a wɔnnim Onyame ne abɔnefoɔ nso ɛ!
