< Nehemiah 13 >

1 On that day they read in the scroll of Moses in the audience of the people; and in it was found written, that an Ammonite and a Moabite should not enter into the assembly of God forever,
Vinaki’ iareo amy andro zay ty boke’ i Mosè am-pijanjiña’ ondatio, le tendrek’ ao te tsy mahazo mimoak’ am-pivorin’ Añahare ao t’i nte-Amone naho t’i nte-Moabe;
2 because they did not meet the children of Israel with bread and with water, but hired Balaam against them, to curse them: however our God turned the curse into a blessing.
amy t’ie tsy nifanalaka amo ana’ Israeleo hinday mofo naho rano, te mone kinarama’ iareo t’i Balame hamatse iareo; fe nafoten’ Añaharen-tika ho fitahiañe i fatsey.
3 It came to pass, when they had heard the law, that they separated from Israel all the mixed multitude.
Aa ie nahajanjiñe Hake iereo le nambaha’ iareo am’ Israele ze hene tamingañe tsy ki’e.
4 Now before this, Eliashib the cohen, who was appointed over the rooms of the house of our God, being allied to Tobiah,
Ie taolo’ Izay, i Eliasibe mpisoroñe tinendre hifehe o efets’ efen’ anjomban’ Añaharen-tikañeo, ie longo i Tobià
5 had prepared for him a great room, where before they laid the meal offerings, the frankincense, and the vessels, and the tithes of the grain, the new wine, and the oil, which were given by commandment to the Levites, and the singers, and the gatekeepers; and the wave offerings for the cohanim.
le hinajari’e ho aze ty efetse jabajaba fampipohañe o enga-mahakamao naho i embokey naho o fanakeo naho o fahafolon’ ampembao, ty divay vaho ty menake natolotse, ie liliy amo nte-Levio naho amo mpisaboo naho amo mpañambeñeo; vaho o engan-kelahelam-pisoroñeo.
6 But in all this, I was not at Jerusalem; for in the two and thirtieth year of Artachshasta king of Babylon I went to the king: and after certain days asked I leave of the king,
Toe tsy e Ierosalaime ao iraho henane zay iaby; fa nimb’ amy mpanjakay añe amy taom-paha-telopolo-ro’ ambi’ i Artaksastà mpanjaka’ i Baveley; ie modo ty andro tsiampeampe le nihalaly t’ie hienga i mpanjakay;
7 and I came to Jerusalem, and understood the evil that Eliashib had done for Tobiah, in preparing him a room in the courts of God's house.
aa ie nivotrake e Ierosalaime ao naho naharendreke ty haratiañe nanoe’ i Eliasibe ho a i Tobià, ie nañajary efetse amo efets’ efen’ Anjomban’ Añahareo,
8 It grieved me severely: therefore I cast forth all the household stuff of Tobiah out of the room.
le niforoforo, fonga nahifiko alafe’ i efetsey o kilankan’ akiba’ i Tobiao.
9 Then I commanded, and they cleansed the rooms: and there brought I again the vessels of God's house, with the meal offerings and the frankincense.
Liniliko amy zao, le niliove’ iereo o efetseo; le nampoliko ao ze haraotse amy anjomban’ Añaharey, miharo amo enga-mahakamao naho i embokey.
10 I perceived that the portions of the Levites had not been given them; so that the Levites and the singers, who did the work, had fled everyone to his field.
Tendrek’ ahy ka te tsy natolotse amo nte-Levio ty anjara’ iareo; aa le songa niavotse mb’ an-tete’e añe o nte-Levio naho o mpisabo nimpitoloñeo.
11 Then I contended with the rulers, and said, "Why is God's house forsaken?" I gathered them together, and set them in their place.
Natretreko amy zao o mpifeheo ami’ty hoe: Aa vaho akore te naforintsiñe ty anjomban’ Añahare? Aa le natontoko iereo naho sindre najadoko an-toe’e eo
12 Then brought all Judah the tithe of the grain and the new wine and the oil to the treasuries.
vaho ninday ty fahafolon’ ampemba naho ty divay naho ty menake mb’ am-pañajam-bara ao t’Iehoda iaby.
13 And I commanded Shelemiah the priest, and Zadok the scribe, and Pedaiah of the Levites be in charge of the storerooms. And next to them was Hanan the son of Zakkur, the son of Mattaniah, for they were considered trustworthy, and their responsibility was the distribution to their brothers.
Le nanoeko mpifehe o fañajam-barao t’i Selemià mpisoroñe naho i Tsadoke mpanokitse, vaho amo nte-Iehodao: i Pedaià naho i Kanàne ana’ i Zakore ana’ i Matanià ho mpiama’e; amy t’ie natao ho migahiñe, vaho lili’ iareo ty fanjarañe amo rahalahi’eo.
14 Remember me, my God, concerning this, and do not wipe out my good deeds that I have done for the house of my God, and for its observances.
Tiahio iraho ry Andrianañahareko ty amy zay, le ko fòra’o o sata soa nanoeko amy anjomban’ Añaharekoy naho o fitoloñañe azeo.
15 In those days I saw in Judah some men treading winepresses on the Sabbath, and bringing in sheaves, and loading donkeys; as also wine, grapes, and figs, and all kinds of burdens, which they brought into Jerusalem on the Sabbath day: and I testified against them in the day in which they sold food.
Nitreako amy andro rezay, e Iehodà ao ty mpandialia fampipiritan-divay ami’ty Sabotse naho ty nimoak’ ao nilogologo ampemba naho nampijiny aze ami’ty borìke; naho ty divay, ty valoboke naho ty sakoañe naho ze atao kilankañe vaho nazilike am’ Ierosalaime ao ami’ty andro Sabata; le nendahako amy andro nandetàha’ iareo i mahakamaiy.
16 There lived men of Tyre also in it, who brought in fish, and all kinds of wares, and sold on the Sabbath to the people of Judah, and in Jerusalem.
Nimoneñe ao ka o nte-Tsore mpinday fiañe naho ze hene kilanka’eo, nandetak’ amo ana’ Iehodao naho e Ierosalaime ao ami’ty Sabotse.
17 Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said to them, "What evil thing is this that you do, and profane the Sabbath day?
Aa le nendahako o mpiaolo’ Iehodao ami’ty hoe: Ino ze o haloloañe anoe’ areo zao? kanao mañota-faly ami’ty andro Sabata.
18 Did not your fathers do thus, and did not our God bring all this disaster on us, and on this city? Yet you bring more wrath on Israel by profaning the Sabbath."
Tsy Izay hao ty nanoen-droae’ areo nampifetsahan’ Añaharen-tika amantika naho ami’ty rova toy o hankàñe iaby zao? Te mone tompea’ areo am’ Israele ty haviñerañe t’ie mandilatse amo Sabotseo.
19 It came to pass that, when the gates of Jerusalem began to be dark before the Sabbath, I commanded that the doors should be shut, and commanded that they should not be opened until after the Sabbath. I set some of my servants over the gates, that no burden should be brought in on the Sabbath day.
Aa ie fa nihamaieñe o lalambei’ Ierosalaimeo aolo’ ty Sabata, le liniliko te harindriñe o lalambeio naho liniliko t’ie tsy ho sokafeñe ampara’ te modo ty Sabotse vaho najadoko hifelek’ o lalambeio ty ila’ o mpitorokoo tsy mone hazilik’ ao ami’ty andro Sabata o kilankañeo.
20 So the merchants and sellers of all kinds of wares lodged outside of Jerusalem once or twice.
Teo te nitobe alafe’ Ierosalaime ao indraike ndra indroe o mpandetake naho mpanao takinak’ amy ze karaza kilankañe iabio;
21 Then I testified against them, and said to them, "Why do you stay around the wall? If you do so again, I will lay hands on you." From that time on, they did not come on the Sabbath.
le hinatahatako ami’ty hoe: Ino ty itobea’ areo marine’ o kijolio? Ie mb’e ahere’ areo le ho zevoñeko am-pitàñe. Mifototse amy zay tsy nionjo-mb’eo ami’ty Sabotse iereo.
22 I commanded the Levites that they should purify themselves, and that they should come and keep the gates, to sanctify the Sabbath day. Remember to me, my God, this also, and spare me according to the greatness of your loving kindness.
Ie amy zao liniliko o nte-Levio ty hañefe-batañe naho homb’ amo lalambeio hañambeñe ty hamasiña’ ty andro Sabata. Tiahio ty amako ka zao ry Andrianañahareko vaho arovo ami’ty hara’elahim-pitretreza’o.
23 In those days also saw I the Jews who had married women of Ashdod, of Ammon, and of Moab:
Nitreako amy andro rezay ka te nanambaly rakemba nte-Asdode naho nte-Amone vaho nte-Moabe o nte-Iehodào;
24 and their children spoke half in the speech of Ashdod, and could not speak in the Jews' language, but according to the language of each people.
le o ana’eo, ty ila’e nirehake an-tsaontsi’ i Asdode fa tsy nahafirehake an-tsaontsi’ Iehoda, songa ami’ty fireha’ ondati’eo avao;
25 I contended with them, and cursed them, and struck certain of them, and plucked off their hair, and made them swear by God, "You shall not give your daughters to their sons, nor take their daughters for your sons, or for yourselves.
aa le natreatréko, nafako, linafako ty ila’e naho nonorako o maroi’eo vaho nampifantàko aman’ Añahare: Ko atolo’ areo amo ana-dahi’ iareoo o anak’ ampela’ areoo, ndra mañenga o anak’ ampela’ iareo ho amo ana-dahi’ areoo ndra ho am-bata’ areo.
26 Did not Solomon king of Israel sin by these things? Yet among many nations was there no king like him, and he was beloved of his God, and God made him king over all Israel. Nevertheless foreign women caused even him to sin.
Tsy nanan-kakeo amy rezay hao t’i Selomò mpanjaka? Ie amo fifeheañe màroy, leo raike tsy nanam-panjaka nañirinkiriñe aze naho nikokoan’ Añahare vaho nanoen’ Añahare mpanjaka’ Israele iaby; fe nampanan-tahiñe aze o rakemba ambahinio.
27 Shall we then listen to you to do all this great evil, to trespass against our God in marrying foreign women?"
Aa vaho hitrao-drehak’ ama’ areo hao zahay hanoa’ areo o haloloañe zao, ty hikitrofan-draha raty aman’ Añaharen-tika am-pañengañe valy ambahiny?
28 One of the sons of Joiada, the son of Eliashib the cohen hagadol, was son-in-law to Sanballat the Horonite: therefore I chased him from me.
Le nataoko soike ty ana’ Ioiadà, ana’ i Eliasibe mpisorom-bey, amy t’ie vinanto’ i Sanbalate nte-Koroneo.
29 Remember them, my God, because they have defiled the office of cohen, and the covenant of the cohanim, and of the Levites.
Tiahio iereo ry Andrianañahareko, amy t’ie nahativa ty fisoroñañe naho ty fañina amo mpisoroñeo vaho amo nte-Levio.
30 Thus I cleansed them from all foreigners, and appointed duties for the cohanim and for the Levites, everyone in his work;
Izay ty nikotriñeko iareo amy ze hene raha ambahiny naho tinendreko ty fitoroña’ o mpisoroñeo naho o nte-Levio, songa amo tolon-draha’eo;
31 and for the wood offering, at times appointed, and for the first fruits. Remember me, my God, for good.
naho ty fanoloran-katae naho o andro tinendreo vaho o loha-voao. Tiahio iraho ho ami’ty hasoa ry Andrianañahareko.
