< Matthew 9 >

1 And he entered into a boat, and crossed over, and came into his own city.
Nake agĩtoonya gatarũ, akĩringa iria, agĩkinya itũũra rĩa kwao.
2 And look, they brought to him a man who was paralyzed, lying on a bed. And Yeshua, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, "Son, cheer up. Your sins are forgiven."
3 And look, some of the scribes said to themselves, "This man blasphemes."
Nĩ ũndũ wa ũguo, arutani amwe a watho makĩĩra na ngoro atĩrĩ, “Mũndũ ũyũ nĩaruma Ngai!”
4 But Yeshua, knowing their thoughts, said, "Why do you think evil in your hearts?
Jesũ aamenya ũrĩa meeciiragia, akĩmooria atĩrĩ, “Mũreciiria ũũru ngoro-inĩ cianyu nĩkĩ?
5 For which is easier, to say, 'Your sins are forgiven;' or to say, 'Get up, and walk?'
Nĩ ũndũ ũrĩkũ mũhũthũ: nĩ kwĩra mũndũ, ‘Nĩwarekerwo mehia maku,’ kana kũmwĩra, ‘Ũkĩra wĩtware?’
6 But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins..." (then he said to the paralytic), "Get up, and take up your mat, and go up to your house."
7 And he arose and departed to his house.
Nake mũndũ ũcio agĩũkĩra, akĩinũka mũciĩ.
8 Now when the crowds saw it, they were afraid and glorified God who had given such authority to men.
Rĩrĩa kĩrĩndĩ kĩu kĩonire ũguo, gĩkĩmaka na gĩkĩgooca Ngai, ũrĩa waheete andũ ũhoti ta ũcio.
9 And as Yeshua passed by from there, he saw a man called Matthew sitting at the tax collection office. He said to him, "Follow me." And he got up and followed him.
Na rĩrĩa Jesũ oimaga kũu, akĩona mũndũ wetagwo Mathayo aikarĩte harĩa heetagĩrio mbeeca cia igooti. Akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Nũmĩrĩra,” nake Mathayo agĩũkĩra, akĩmũrũmĩrĩra.
10 And it happened as he sat in the house, look, many tax collectors and sinners came and were reclining with Yeshua and his talmidim.

11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to his talmidim, "Why does your Teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?"
Rĩrĩa Afarisai moonire ũguo, makĩũria arutwo ake atĩrĩ, “Mũrutani wanyu arĩĩanagĩra na etia mbeeca cia igooti na andũ ehia nĩkĩ?”
12 When he heard it, he said to them, "Those who are healthy have no need for a physician, but those who are sick do.
Jesũ aigua ũguo, akĩmeera atĩrĩ, “Andũ arĩa agima mĩĩrĩ ti o mabataragio nĩ ndagĩtarĩ, no nĩ arĩa arũaru.
13 But you go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,' for I came not to call the righteous, but sinners."
No rĩrĩ, thiĩi mũkeerute ũrĩa ciugo ici ciugĩte: ‘Kũiguanĩra tha nĩkuo nyendaga, no ti magongona.’ Nĩgũkorwo niĩ ndiokire gũcaria arĩa athingu, no ndokire nĩ ũndũ wa arĩa ehia.”
14 Then John's talmidim came to him, saying, "Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but your talmidim do not fast?"
Hĩndĩ ĩyo arutwo a Johana magĩũka kũrĩ we makĩmũũria atĩrĩ, “Ithuĩ na Afarisai nĩtwĩhingaga kũrĩa, no nĩ kĩĩ gĩtũmaga arutwo aku mage kwĩhinga kũrĩa irio?”
15 And Yeshua said to them, "Can the friends of the bridegroom mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast.
Nake Jesũ akĩmacookeria atĩrĩ, “Ageni a mũhikania mangĩhota atĩa kũigua kĩeha rĩrĩa mũhikania arĩ hamwe nao? Ihinda nĩrĩgakinya rĩrĩa mũhikania akeeherio kũrĩ o; hĩndĩ ĩyo nĩguo makeehinga kũrĩa irio.
16 And no one puts a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; for the patch would tear away from the garment, and a worse hole is made.
“Gũtirĩ mũndũ ũtumagĩrĩra nguo ngũrũ kĩraka kĩa nguo njerũ, nĩgũkorwo kĩraka kĩu no kĩguucie nguo ĩyo gĩtũme ĩtarũke makĩria.
17 Neither do people put new wine into old wineskins, or else the skins would burst, and the wine pours out, and the skins ruined. No, they put new wine into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved."
Ningĩ andũ matiĩkagĩra ndibei ya mũhihano mondo-inĩ ngũrũ. Mangĩĩka ũguo, mondo icio no itarũke, nayo ndibei ĩitĩke, na mondo icio cia ndibei cianangĩke o biũ. No andũ mekagĩra ndibei ya mũhihano mondo-inĩ njerũ, nacio cierĩ igaikara irĩ njega.”
18 While he told these things to them, look, a ruler came and worshiped him, saying, "My daughter has just died, but come and lay your hand on her, and she will live."
Na rĩrĩa aaragia maũndũ macio, hagĩũka mũndũ warĩ mũnene, akĩmũturĩria ndu, akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Mũirĩtu wakwa no hĩndĩ aakua; no ũka ũkamũigĩrĩre guoko, na nĩekũriũka.”
19 And Yeshua got up and followed him, as did his talmidim.
Nake Jesũ agĩũkĩra, agĩthiĩ nake, arĩ na arutwo ake.
20 And look, a woman who had an issue of blood for twelve years came behind him, and touched the fringe of his garment;
21 for she said within herself, "If I just touch his garment, I will be made well."
Tondũ eĩĩraga atĩrĩ, “Ingĩhutia o nguo yake, no hone.”
22 But Yeshua, turning around and seeing her, said, "Daughter, cheer up. Your faith has made you well." And the woman was made well from that hour.
Nake Jesũ akĩĩhũgũra, akĩmuona, akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Mwarĩ ũyũ, wĩyũmĩrĩrie gwĩtĩkia gwaku nĩkuo gwatũma ũhone.” Nake mũtumia ũcio akĩhonio o hĩndĩ ĩyo.
23 And when Yeshua came into the ruler's house, and saw the flute players, and the crowd in noisy disorder,
24 he said, "Go away, for the girl is not dead, but asleep." And they laughed at him.
akĩmeera atĩrĩ, “Eherai. Mũirĩtũ ũyũ ti mũkuũ, nĩ gũkoma akomete.” Nao andũ acio makĩmũthekerera.
25 But when the crowd was put out, he entered in, took her by the hand, and the girl arose.
Thuutha wa andũ acio kuumio nja, agĩtoonya thĩinĩ, akĩnyiita mũirĩtu ũcio guoko, nake agĩũkĩra.
26 And the report of this went out into all that land.
Ũhoro ũcio ũkĩhunja bũrũri ũcio wothe.
27 And as Yeshua passed by from there, two blind men followed him, calling out and saying, "Have mercy on us, son of David."
Na rĩrĩa Jesũ oimire kũu, aathianga-rĩ, andũ eerĩ atumumu makĩmũrũmĩrĩra, makĩanagĩrĩra, makiugaga atĩrĩ, “Tũiguĩre tha, wee Mũrũ wa Daudi!”
28 And when he had come into the house, the blind men came to him, and Yeshua said to them, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" They told him, "Yes, Lord."
Na hĩndĩ ĩrĩa aatoonyire nyũmba, atumumu acio magĩũka kũrĩ we, nake akĩmooria atĩrĩ, “Nĩmwĩtĩkĩtie atĩ no hote gwĩka ũguo?” Nao makĩmũcookeria atĩrĩ, “Ĩĩ-ni, Mwathani.”
29 Then he touched their eyes, saying, "According to your faith be it done to you."
Hĩndĩ ĩyo akĩmahutia maitho, akiuga atĩrĩ, “Mũroĩkwo o ũguo mwĩtĩkĩtie;”
30 And their eyes were opened. And Yeshua strictly commanded them, saying, "See that no one knows about this."
namo maitho mao makĩhingũka magĩcooka kuona. Nake Jesũ akĩmakaania na hinya, akĩmeera atĩrĩ, “Mũtikareke mũndũ o na ũrĩkũ amenye ũhoro ũyũ.”
31 But they went out and spread abroad his fame in all that land.
No-o makiumagara na makĩhunjia ũhoro wake bũrũri ũcio wothe.
32 And as they went out, look, a mute man who was demon possessed was brought to him.
Na hĩndĩ ĩrĩa moimaga hau, Jesũ akĩreherwo mũndũ warĩ na ndaimono, na ndaaragia.
33 And when the demon was cast out, the mute man spoke. And the crowds were amazed, saying, "Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel."
Nayo ndaimono yaingatwo, mũndũ ũcio ũtaaragia, akĩaria. Kĩrĩndĩ gĩkĩgega, gĩkiuga atĩrĩ, “Ũndũ ta ũyũ ndũrĩ woneka Isiraeli.”
34 But the Pharisees said, "By the prince of the demons, he casts out demons."
35 And Yeshua went about all the cities and the villages, teaching in their synagogues, and proclaiming the Good News of the Kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness.
36 But when he saw the crowds, he was moved with compassion for them, because they were harassed and scattered, like sheep without a shepherd.
37 Then he said to his talmidim, "The harvest indeed is plentiful, but the laborers are few.
Hĩndĩ ĩyo akĩĩra arutwo ake atĩrĩ, “Magetha nĩ maingĩ, no aruti a wĩra nĩ anini.
38 Pray therefore that the Lord of the harvest will send out laborers into his harvest."
Nĩ ũndũ ũcio, hooyai Mwathani wa magetha atũme aruti wĩra mathiĩ magetha-inĩ make.”
