< Matthew 20 >
1 "For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard.
ᎦᎸᎳᏗᏰᏃ ᎤᏤᎵᎪᎯ ᎾᏍᎩᏯᏉ ᎠᏍᎦᏯ ᎦᏁᎳ, ᏑᎾᎴᎢᏳ ᏧᏪᏅᏎ ᏥᏚᏅᏒᏎ ᎪᎱᏍᏗ ᎠᎾᏛᏁᎯ ᏖᎸᎳᏗ ᏚᏫᏒ ᏧᏂᎸᏫᏍᏓᏁᏗᏱ.
2 When he had agreed with the laborers for a denarius a day, he sent them into his vineyard.
ᎿᎭᏉᏃ ᎾᏍᎩ ᎠᏍᎦᏯ ᎪᎱᏍᏗ ᎠᎾᏛᏁᎯ ᏚᏄᎪᏔᏅ ᎠᎩᏏ ᏧᎬᏩᎶᏗ ᏧᎫᏴᎡᏗᏱ ᏏᎦ, ᏖᎸᎳᏗ ᏙᏧᏫᏒ ᏚᏅᏎᎢ.
3 He went out about nine in the morning, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace.
ᎤᏪᏅᏎᏃ ᏐᎣᏁᎵᏁ ᎢᏳᏟᎶᏛ ᎧᎳᏩᏗᏒᎢ, ᎠᎴ ᏚᎪᎮ ᏅᏩᎾᏓᎴ ᎦᏃᏙᏗᏱ ᎠᏂᏙᎾᎡ ᎪᎱᏍᏗ ᎾᎾᏛᎲᎾ,
4 To them he said, 'You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right I will give you.' So they went their way.
ᎠᎴ ᎯᎠ ᏂᏚᏪᏎᎴᎢ; ᎢᏤᎾ ᎾᏍᏉ ᏂᎯ ᏖᎸᎳᏗ ᏙᏗᏫᏒᎢ, ᏚᏳᎪᏛᏃ ᎨᏒ ᏓᏨᏯᎫᏴᎡᎵ. ᎤᏁᏅᏎᏃ.
5 Again he went out about noon and at three in the afternoon, and did likewise.
ᏔᎵᏁ ᎢᎦ ᎢᎤᏪᏅᏎ ᎠᎴ ᎾᏍᏉ ᏦᎢᏁ ᎢᏳᏟᎶᏛ ᎧᎳᏩᏗᏒ ᎤᏒᎯᏰᏱ, ᎾᏍᎩᏯ ᏂᎤᏛᏁᎴᎢ.
6 About five that afternoon he went out, and found others standing. He said to them, 'Why do you stand here all day idle?'
ᎯᏍᎩᏁᏃ ᎢᏳᏟᎶᏛ ᎧᎳᏩᏗᏒ ᏔᎵᏁ ᎢᎤᏪᏅᏎᎢ, ᎠᎴ ᏚᏩᏛᎮ ᏅᏩᎾᏓᎴ ᎠᏂᏙᎾᎡ ᎪᎱᏍᏗ ᎾᎾᏛᏁᎲᎾ, ᎯᎠᏃ ᏂᏚᏪᏎᎴᎢ; ᎦᏙᏃ ᎠᏂ ᎢᏥᏙᎾᎠ ᎤᏙᏓᏆᏛ ᎪᎱᏍᏗ ᏂᏣᏛᏁᎲᎾ?
7 "They said to him, 'Because no one has hired us.' "He said to them, 'You also go into the vineyard.'
ᏝᏰᎾ ᎩᎶ ᏲᎩᏅᏒ, ᎤᎾᏛᏁᎢ. ᎯᎠᏃ ᏂᏚᏪᏎᎴᎢ; ᏂᎯ ᎾᏍᏉ ᎢᏤᎾ ᏖᎸᎳᏗ ᏙᏗᏫᏒᎢ; ᏚᏳᎪᏛᏃ ᎨᏒ ᏓᏨᏯᎫᏴᎡᎵ.
8 When evening had come, the lord of the vineyard said to his manager, 'Call the laborers and pay them their wages, beginning from the last to the first.'
ᎤᏒᏃ ᏄᎵᏍᏔᏅ, ᏖᎸᎳᏗ ᏓᏫᏒ ᎤᏤᎵᎦ ᎯᎠ ᏄᏪᏎᎴ ᎠᏕᎸ ᎤᎦᏘᏕᎯ, ᏫᏘᏯᏅ ᎪᎱᏍᏗ ᎠᎾᏛᏁᎯ ᎠᎴ ᏔᎫᏴᏏ ᏚᏂᎸᏫᏍᏓᏁᎸᎢ, ᎣᏂᏱ ᎨᏥᏅᏒᎯ ᏔᎴᏅᏓ ᎢᎬᏱᏱᏃ ᎨᏥᏅᏒᎯ ᏘᏍᏆᎸᏓ
9 "When those who were hired at about five in the afternoon came, they each received a denarius.
ᎯᏍᎩᏁᏃ ᎢᏳᏟᎶᏛ ᎧᎳᏩᏗᏒ ᎨᏥᏅᏒᎯ ᎤᏂᎷᏨ, ᎠᏂᏏᏴᏫᎭ ᎠᎩᏏ ᏧᎬᏩᎶᏗ ᎨᎦᎫᏴᎡᎴᎢ.
10 When the first came, they supposed that they would receive more; and they likewise each received a denarius.
ᎢᎬᏱᏱᏃ ᎨᏥᏅᏒᎯ ᎤᏂᎷᏨ ᎤᏟ ᎢᎦᎢ ᏓᏲᎦᎫᏴᎡᎵ ᎤᏁᎵᏎᎢ. ᎠᏎᏃ ᎾᏍᏉ ᎠᎩᏏᏉ ᏧᎬᏩᎶᏗ ᎠᏂᏏᏴᏫᎭ ᎢᎨᎦᎫᏴᎡᎴᎢ.
11 When they received it, they murmured against the master of the household,
ᎨᎦᎫᏴᎡᎸᏃ, ᎤᏂᎪᏁᎶᎯᏎᎴᏉ ᎠᏍᎦᏯ ᎦᏁᎳ,
12 saying, 'These last have spent one hour, and you have made them equal to us, who have borne the burden of the day and the scorching heat.'
ᎯᎠ ᏄᏂᏪᏎᎢ; ᎯᎠ ᎣᏂᏱ ᎤᏂᎷᏨᎯ ᏌᏉᏉ ᎢᏳᏟᎶᏛ ᏚᏂᎸᏫᏍᏓᏏ, ᎢᏧᎳᎭᏉᏃ ᏅᏍᎩᏴᎦ ᎠᏴ ᎾᏍᎩ ᎦᎨᏒ ᎠᎴ ᎤᏗᎴᎬ ᎢᎦ ᏦᎩᎸᏫᏍᏓᏁᎸᎯ.
13 "But he answered one of them, 'Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Did you not agree with me for a denarius?
ᎠᏎᏃ ᎠᏏᏴᏫ ᎤᏁᏤᎴ ᎯᎠ ᏄᏪᏎᎴᎢ; ᎩᎾᎵᎢ, ᎥᏝ ᎤᏣᏘᏂ ᏱᏂᎬᏴᏁᎭ. ᏝᏍᎪ ᎣᏏ ᏱᏣᏰᎸᏁ ᎠᎩᏏ ᏧᎬᏩᎶᏗ ᎬᏯᎫᏴᎡᏗᏱ?
14 Take that which is yours, and go your way. It is my desire to give to this last just as much as to you.
ᎯᎩ ᏣᏤᎵᎦ ᎠᎴ ᏥᎮᎾ. ᎣᏏ ᎠᎩᏰᎸ ᏥᏯᎫᏴᎡᏗᏱ ᎯᎠ ᎣᏂᏱ ᎤᎷᏨᎯ ᏂᎯ ᎬᏯᎫᏴᎡᎸ ᎢᎦᎢ.
15 Is it not lawful for me to do what I want to with what I own? Or is your eye evil, because I am good?'
ᏝᏍᎪ ᏚᏳᎪᏛ ᏱᎩ ᏄᏍᏛ ᎦᏓᏅᏖᏍᎬ ᎢᏯᏋᏁᏗᏱ ᎠᏆᏤᎵ ᎨᏒᎢ? ᏥᏌ ᎯᎦᏙᎵ ᎤᏲᎢᏳ ᎢᎩ ᏅᏗᎦᎵᏍᏙᏗ ᎠᏴ ᎠᏆᏓᏅᏘᏳ ᎨᏒᎢ?
16 So the last will be first, and the first last; for many are called, but few are chosen."
ᎰᏩᏃ ᎣᏂᏱ ᏥᎩ ᎢᎬᏱ ᎨᏎᏍᏗ, ᎢᎬᏱᏃ ᏥᎩ ᎣᏂᏱ ᎨᏎᏍᏗ. ᎤᏂᏣᏔᏰᏃ ᎨᏥᏯᏅᎲ, ᎠᏎᏃ ᎠᏂᎦᏲᎵᏳ ᎨᎦᏑᏰᏒ.
17 As Yeshua was going up to Jerusalem, he took the Twelve aside, and on the way he said to them,
ᏥᏌᏃ ᏥᎷᏏᎵᎻ ᏩᎦᏛᎢ, ᏔᎳᏚ ᎢᏯᏂᏛ ᎠᎾᏓᏍᏓᏩᏗᏙᎯ ᎤᎾᏁᎳᎩ ᎢᏴᏛ ᏫᏚᏘᏅᏍᏔᏅᎩ, ᎠᎴ ᎯᎠ ᏂᏚᏪᏎᎸᎩ;
18 "Look, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered to the chief cohanim and scribes, and they will condemn him to death,
ᎬᏂᏳᏉ ᏥᎷᏏᎵᎻ ᏫᏗᎦᏘ, ᎠᎴ ᏴᏫ ᎤᏪᏥ ᏙᏓᏰᏥᏲᏏ ᏙᏓᎨᏦᏲᎯᏎᎵ ᏄᏂᎬᏫᏳᏒ ᎠᏥᎸ-ᎠᏁᎶᎯ ᎠᎴ ᏗᏃᏪᎵᏍᎩ, ᎾᏍᎩᏃ ᏙᏛᏄᎪᎳᏂ ᎤᏲᎱᎯᏍᏗᏱ,
19 and will hand him over to the non-Jews to mock, to scourge, and to crucify; and the third day he will be raised up."
ᎠᎴ ᎫᎾᏏᎴᏅᏛ ᏴᏫ ᏙᏛᏂᏲᎯᏎᎵ ᎤᏂᏪᏢᎾᏁᏗᏱ, ᎠᎴ ᎤᏂᎵᎥᏂᏍᏗᏱ, ᎠᎴ ᎤᎾᏛᏗᏱ ᏧᏓᎿᎭᏩᏛ ᎨᏛᎢ; ᎠᎴ ᏦᎢᏁ ᎢᎦ ᏙᏛᎠᎴᏂ.
20 Then the mother of the sons of Zavdai came to him with her sons, kneeling and asking a certain thing of him.
ᎿᎭᏉᏃ ᎤᎷᏤᎸᎩ ᏤᏈᏘ ᏧᏪᏥ ᎤᏂᏥ, ᏓᏘᏁᎲᎩ ᏧᏪᏥ ᎠᏂᏫᏅ, ᎡᎳᏗ ᎤᏓᏅᏅᎩ, ᎠᎴ ᎠᎱᏍᏗ ᎤᏔᏲᏎᎲᎩ.
21 He said to her, "What do you want?" She said to him, "Command that these, my two sons, may sit, one on your right hand, and one on your left hand, in your Kingdom."
ᎯᎠᏃ ᏄᏪᏎᎸᎩ; ᎦᏙ ᏣᏚᎵᎭ? ᎯᎠ ᏅᏓᏳᏪᏎᎸᎩ; ᎭᎵᏍᎪᎸᏓ ᎯᎠ ᎠᏂᏔᎵ ᏗᏇᏥ ᏧᏂᏗᏱ ᏣᏤᎵᎪᎯ ᎨᏒᎢ, ᏌᏉ ᎯᎦᏘᏏ ᎢᏗᏢ, ᏐᎢᏃ ᎯᎦᏍᎦᏂ.
22 But Yeshua answered and said, "You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink?" They said to him, "We are able."
ᏥᏌᏃ ᎤᏁᏨ ᎯᎠ ᏄᏪᏒᎩ; Ꮭ ᏱᏥᎦᏔᎭ ᏄᏍᏛ ᎢᏥᏔᏲᎯᎲᎢ. ᏥᎪ ᏰᎵᏉ ᎨᏣᏗᏔᏍᏗ ᎤᎵᏍᏈᏗ ᎠᏟᏍᏛ ᎠᏴ ᏨᏓᎦᏗᏔᎯ, ᎠᎴᏍᎪ ᏰᎵᏉ ᏱᏕᏣᏬᏍᏓ ᎠᏴ ᎾᏍᎩ ᏨᏓᏴᏆᏬᏍᏔᏂ? ᏰᎵᏉ, ᎤᎾᏛᏅᎩ.
23 He said to them, "You will indeed drink my cup, but to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it is for whom it has been prepared by my Father."
ᎯᎠᏃ ᏂᏚᏪᏎᎸᎩ; ᎤᏙᎯᏳᎯ ᎠᏆᏤᎵ ᎤᎵᏍᏈᏗ ᎠᏟᏍᏛ ᏓᏣᏗᏔᎯ, ᎠᎴ ᎠᏴ ᎥᏆᏬᏍᏙᏗ ᎨᏒ ᏙᏓᏰᏣᏬᏍᏔᏂ. ᏥᎦᏘᏏᏍᎩᏂ ᎠᎴ ᏥᎦᏍᎦᏂ ᎩᎶ ᎤᏪᏗᏱ ᎥᏝ ᎠᏴ ᎠᏆᏓᏁᏗ ᏱᎩ, ᎨᏥᏁᏗᏍᎩᏂᏃᏅ ᎨᏎᏍᏗ ᎾᏍᎩ ᎡᏙᏓ ᏧᏓᏁᎳᏁᎸᎯ.
24 When the ten heard it, they were indignant with the two brothers.
ᎠᏍᎪᎯᏃ ᎢᏯᏂᏛ ᎤᎾᏛᎦᏅ ᎤᏣᏘ ᎤᏂᏔᎳᏬᏒᎩ ᏚᏂᏂᏆᏘᎸ ᎠᏂᏔᎵ ᏗᎾᏓᏅᏟ.
25 But Yeshua summoned them, and said, "You know that the rulers of the nations lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them.
ᏥᏌᏃ ᏫᏚᏯᏅᎲ ᎯᎠ ᏄᏪᏒᎩ; ᎢᏥᎦᏔᎭ ᎠᏰᎵ ᏕᎪᏢᏩᏗᏒ ᏄᏂᎬᏫᏳᏌᏕᎩ ᎠᏂᏁᎪ ᎢᏳᎾᏛᏁᎵᏓᏍᏗᏱ ᏴᏫ, ᎠᎴ ᎨᏥᎸᏉᏗ ᎠᏂᏁᏥᏙᎲ ᎾᎾᏛᏁᎰᎢ.
26 It will not be so among you, but whoever desires to become great among you must be your servant.
ᏂᎯᏍᎩᏂ ᏞᏍᏗ ᎾᏍᎩ ᏱᏂᏨᏁᏍᏗ; ᎩᎶᏍᎩᏂ ᎠᏥᎸᏉᏗ ᎢᏳᎵᏍᏙᏗᏱ ᎤᏚᎵᏍᎨᏍᏗ ᎾᏍᎩ ᎡᏥᏅᏏᏓᏍᏗ ᎨᏎᏍᏗ.
27 And whoever desires to be first among you must be your slave,
ᎠᎴ ᎩᎶ ᎤᎬᏫᏳᎯ ᎢᏳᎵᏍᏙᏗᏱ ᎤᏚᎵᏍᎨᏍᏗ ᎾᏍᎩ ᎡᏥᎾᏝᎢ ᎨᏎᏍᏗ.
28 even as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."
ᎾᏍᎩᏯᏉ ᏴᏫ ᎤᏪᏥ ᎤᏓᏅᏏᏓᏍᏗᏱ ᏄᏲᎵᎸᎾ ᏥᎩ, ᎠᏥᏅᏏᏓᏍᏗᏱᏉᏍᎩᏂ, ᎠᎴ ᎬᏅᎢ ᎤᎵᏍᎪᎸᏙᏗᏱ ᎤᏂᏣᏘ ᏗᎫᏴᏙᏗ.
29 As they went out from Jericho, a large crowd followed him.
ᏤᎵᎪᏃ ᎤᎾᏂᎩᏒ ᎤᏂᏣᏘ ᏴᏫ ᎬᏩᏍᏓᏩᏛᏒᎩ.
30 And look, two blind men sitting by the road, when they heard that Yeshua was passing by, shouted, "Have mercy on us, Lord, son of David."
ᎬᏂᏳᏉᏃ ᎠᏂᏔᎵ ᏗᏂᎨᏫ ᎤᏃᎱᎶᏗ ᏚᏃᎸᎩ, ᎤᎾᏛᎦᏅᏃ ᏥᏌ ᎤᎶᏒᎢ ᎤᏁᎷᏅᎩ, ᎯᎠ ᏄᏂᏪᏒᎩ; ᏍᎩᏂᏙᎵᎩ, ᏣᎬᏫᏳᎯ ᏕᏫ ᎤᏪᏥ.
31 The crowd rebuked them, telling them that they should be quiet, but they shouted even more, "Have mercy on us, Lord, son of David."
ᎤᏂᏣᏘᏃ ᏚᏂᏁᏤᎸᎩ ᎡᎳᏪᏱ ᎤᏅᏗᏱ. ᎠᏎᏃ ᎤᏟᏉ ᎢᎦᎢ ᎤᏁᎷᏅᎩ, ᎯᎠ ᏄᏂᏪᏒᎩ, ᏍᎩᏂᏙᎵᎩ, ᏣᎬᏫᏳᎯ ᏕᏫ ᎤᏪᏥ.
32 Yeshua stood still, and called them, and asked, "What do you want me to do for you?"
ᏥᏌᏃ ᎤᎴᏫᏍᏔᏅ ᏫᏚᏯᏅᎲᎩ, ᎠᎴ ᎯᎠ ᏂᏚᏪᏎᎸᎩ; ᎦᏙ ᎢᏍᏓᏚᎵ ᎠᏴ ᎢᏍᏛᏯᏛᏁᏗᏱ?
33 They told him, "Lord, that our eyes may be opened."
ᎯᎠ ᏄᏂᏪᏒᎩ: ᏣᎬᏫᏳᎯ, ᏦᏍᏗᎦᏙᎵ ᏧᎵᏍᏚᎢᏍᏗᏱ ᎣᎩᎾᏚᎵᎭ.
34 Yeshua, being moved with compassion, touched their eyes; and immediately their eyes received their sight, and they followed him.
ᏥᏌᏃ ᏚᏪᏙᎵᏨ ᏗᏂᎦᏙᎵ ᏚᏒᏁᎸᎩ, ᎩᎳᏉᏃ ᎢᏴᏛ ᎬᏩᏂᎪᏩᏛᏗ ᏄᎵᏍᏔᏅᎩ; ᎠᎴ ᎬᏩᏍᏓᏩᏛᏒᎩ.
