Matthew 2
1 Now when Yeshua was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, look, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem, saying,
| و چون عیسی در ایام هیرودیس پادشاه دربیت لحم یهودیه تولد یافت، ناگاه مجوسی چند از مشرق به اورشلیم آمده، گفتند: | ۱ |
2 "Where is he who is born King of the Jews? For we saw his star in the east, and have come to worship him."
| «کجاست آن مولود که پادشاه یهود است زیراکه ستاره او را در مشرق دیده‌ایم و برای پرستش او آمده‌ایم؟» | ۲ |
3 And when King Herod heard it, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
| اما هیرودیس پادشاه چون این راشنید، مضطرب شد و تمام اورشلیم با وی. | ۳ |
4 And gathering together all the chief cohanim and scribes of the people, he asked them where the Messiah would be born.
| پس همه روسای کهنه و کاتبان قوم را جمع کرده، ازایشان پرسید که «مسیح کجا باید متولد شود؟» | ۴ |
5 And they said to him, "In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it is written through the prophet,
| بدو گفتند: «در بیت لحم یهودیه زیرا که از نبی چنین مکتوب است: | ۵ |
6 'And you, Bethlehem, land of Judah, are in no way least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you will come forth a ruler who will shepherd my people, Israel.'"
| و تو‌ای بیت لحم، در زمین یهودا از سایر سرداران یهودا هرگز کوچکترنیستی، زیرا که از تو پیشوایی به ظهور خواهدآمد که قوم من اسرائیل را رعایت خواهد نمود.» | ۶ |
7 Then Herod secretly called the Magi, and learned from them exactly what time the star appeared.
| آنگاه هیرودیس مجوسیان را در خلوت خوانده، وقت ظهور ستاره را از ایشان تحقیق کرد. | ۷ |
8 And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, "Go and search diligently for the young child, and when you have found him, bring me word, so that I also may come and worship him."
| پس ایشان را به بیت لحم روانه نموده، گفت: «بروید و از احوال آن طفل بتدقیق تفحص کنید و چون یافتید مرا خبر دهید تا من نیز آمده، او را پرستش نمایم.» | ۸ |
9 And they, having heard the king, went their way; and look, the star which they saw in the east went before them, until it came and stood over where the young child was.
| چون سخن پادشاه راشنیدند، روانه شدند که ناگاه آن ستاره‌ای که در مشرق دیده بودند، پیش روی ایشان می‌رفت تافوق آنجایی که طفل بود رسیده، بایستاد. | ۹ |
10 And when they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy.
| وچون ستاره را دیدند، بی‌نهایت شاد و خوشحال گشتند | ۱۰ |
11 And they came into the house and saw the young child with Miriam, his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him. Then, opening their treasures, they offered to him gifts: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
| و به خانه درآمده، طفل را با مادرش مریم یافتند و به روی در‌افتاده، او را پرستش کردند و ذخایر خود را گشوده، هدایای طلا وکندر و مر به وی گذرانیدند. | ۱۱ |
12 Being warned in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they went back to their own country another way.
| و چون در خواب وحی بدیشان در‌رسید که به نزد هیرودیس بازگشت نکنند، پس از راه دیگر به وطن خویش مراجعت کردند. | ۱۲ |
13 Now when they had departed, look, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, "Herod will seek the young child to destroy him."
| و چون ایشان روانه شدند، ناگاه فرشته خداوند در خواب به یوسف ظاهر شده، گفت: «برخیز و طفل و مادرش را برداشته به مصر فرارکن و در آنجا باش تا به تو خبر دهم، زیرا که هیرودیس طفل را جستجو خواهد کرد تا او راهلاک نماید.» | ۱۳ |
14 And he arose and took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt,
| پس شبانگاه برخاسته، طفل ومادر او را برداشته، بسوی مصر روانه شد | ۱۴ |
15 and was there until the death of Herod; that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, "Out of Egypt I called my son."
| و تاوفات هیرودیس در آنجا بماند، تا کلامی که خداوند به زبان نبی گفته بود تمام گردد که «ازمصر پسر خود را خواندم.» | ۱۵ |
16 Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked by the Magi, was exceedingly angry, and sent out, and killed all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all the surrounding countryside, from two years old and under, according to the exact time which he had learned from the Magi.
| چون هیرودیس دید که مجوسیان او را سخریه نموده‌اند، بسیارغضبناک شده، فرستاد و جمیع اطفالی را که دربیت لحم و تمام نواحی آن بودند، از دو ساله وکمتر موافق وقتی که از مجوسیان تحقیق نموده بود، به قتل رسانید. | ۱۶ |
17 Then that which was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled, saying,

18 "A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation and weeping and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children; and she would not be comforted, because they are no more."
| آنگاه کلامی که به زبان ارمیای نبی گفته شده بود، تمام شد: «آوازی دررامه شنیده شد، گریه و زاری و ماتم عظیم که راحیل برای فرزندان خود گریه می‌کند و تسلی نمی پذیرد زیرا که نیستند.» | ۱۸ |
19 But when Herod was dead, look, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, saying,
| اما چون هیرودیس وفات یافت، ناگاه فرشته خداوند در مصر به یوسف در خواب ظاهرشده، گفت: | ۱۹ |
20 "Arise and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel, for those who sought the young child's life are dead."
| «برخیز و طفل و مادرش رابرداشته، به زمین اسرائیل روانه شو زیرا آنانی که قصد جان طفل داشتند فوت شدند.» | ۲۰ |
21 And he arose and took the young child and his mother, and went to the land of Israel.
| پس برخاسته، طفل و مادر او را برداشت و به زمین اسرائیل آمد. | ۲۱ |
22 But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judea in the place of his father, Herod, he was afraid to go there. Being warned in a dream, he withdrew into the region of Galil,
| اما چون شنید که ارکلاوس به‌جای پدر خود هیرودیس بر یهودیه پادشاهی می‌کند، از رفتن بدان سمت ترسید و در خواب وحی یافته، به نواحی جلیل برگشت. | ۲۲ |
23 and came and lived in a city called Natzeret; that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophets, that he will be called a Natzrati.
| و آمده در بلده‌ای مسمی به ناصره ساکن شد، تا آنچه به زبان انبیا گفته شده بود تمام شود که «به ناصری خوانده خواهد شد.» | ۲۳ |
