Luke 3
1 Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galil, and his brother Philip tetrarch of the region of Ituraea and Trachonitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene,

2 in the cohanim gedolim of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came to John, the son of Zechariah, in the wilderness.

3 He came into all the region around the Jordan, proclaiming the immersion of repentance for forgiveness of sins.

4 As it is written in the scroll of the words of Isaiah the prophet, "The voice of one crying in the wilderness, 'Prepare the way of the Lord. Make his roads straight.

5 Every valley will be filled, and every mountain and hill will be made low, and the crooked will be made straight, and the rough ways smooth.
౫ప్రతి లోయనూ పూడ్చాలి. ప్రతి పర్వతాన్నీ, మెరకనూ పల్లం చేయాలి. వంకర దారులు సరి అవుతాయి. గరుకు బాటలు నునుపు అవుతాయి.
6 And all humanity will see the salvation of God.'"
౬ప్రజలందరూ దేవుని రక్షణను చూస్తారు.”
7 He said therefore to the crowds who went out to be immersed by him, "You offspring of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

8 Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say among yourselves, 'We have Abraham for our father;' for I tell you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.
౮పశ్చాత్తాపానికి తగిన ఫలాలు ఫలించండి. అబ్రాహాము మాకు తండ్రి అని మీలో మీరు చెప్పుకోవద్దు. దేవుడు ఈ రాళ్ల నుండి అబ్రాహాముకు పిల్లలను పుట్టించగలడని మీతో చెప్తున్నాను.
9 Even now the axe also lies at the root of the trees. Every tree therefore that does not bring forth good fruit is cut down, and thrown into the fire."
౯ఇప్పటికే చెట్ల వేరుకు గొడ్డలి ఆనించి ఉంది. కాబట్టి మంచి పళ్ళు కాయని ప్రతి చెట్టునూ నరికి మంటల్లో వేస్తాడు” అని చెప్పాడు.
10 The crowds asked him, "What then must we do?"
౧౦అప్పుడు గుంపులో కొంతమంది, “అయితే మేమేం చేయాలి?” అని అతన్ని అడిగారు.
11 He answered them, "He who has two coats, let him give to him who has none. He who has food, let him do likewise."
౧౧అతడు, “రెండు అంగీలు ఉన్నవాడు అసలు లేని వాడికి ఒకటి ఇవ్వాలి, భోజనం ఉన్నవాడు కూడా ఆలాగే చేయాలి” అని చెప్పాడు.
12 Tax collectors also came to be immersed, and they said to him, "Teacher, what must we do?"
౧౨పన్ను వసూలు చేసే వారు కూడా బాప్తిసం పొందడానికి వచ్చి, “బోధకా, మేమేం చేయాలి?” అని అతన్ని అడిగారు.
13 He said to them, "Collect no more than that which is appointed to you."
౧౩అతడు, “మీరు వసూలు చేయాల్సిన దాని కంటే ఎక్కువ తీసుకోవద్దు” అని వారితో చెప్పాడు.
14 Soldiers also asked him, saying, "What about us? What must we do?" He said to them, "Extort from no one by violence, neither accuse anyone wrongfully. Be content with your wages."
౧౪“మా సంగతేంటి? మేమేం చేయాలి?” అని కొంతమంది సైనికులు కూడా అడిగారు. “ఎవరి దగ్గర నుంచీ అక్రమంగా డబ్బు తీసుకోవద్దు. అన్యాయంగా ఎవరి మీదా నేరం మోపవద్దు. మీ జీతంతో తృప్తిపడండి” అని అతడు వారితో చెప్పాడు.
15 As the people were in expectation, and all were wondering in their hearts concerning John, whether perhaps he was the Messiah,

16 John answered them all, "I indeed immerse you with water, but he comes who is mightier than I, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to loosen. He will immerse you with the Ruach ha-Kodesh and with fire,

17 whose winnowing fork is in his hand, to clear his threshing floor, and to gather the wheat into his barn; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire."
౧౭తన కళ్ళం బాగు చేయడానికి తూర్పారబట్టే ఆయన చేట ఆయన చేతిలో ఉంది. తన గిడ్డంగిలో గోదుమలు పోసి, పొట్టును ఆరిపోని మంటల్లో కాల్చివేస్తాడు.”
18 Then with many other exhortations he preached good news to the people,

19 but Herod the tetrarch, being reproved by him for Herodias, his brother's wife, and for all the evil things which Herod had done,

20 added this also to them all, that he shut up John in prison.

21 Now it happened, when all the people were immersed, Yeshua also had been immersed, and was praying. The sky was opened,
౨౧ప్రజలంతా బాప్తిసం పొందుతూ ఉన్నప్పుడు యేసు కూడా బాప్తిసం పొందాడు. ఆయన ప్రార్థన చేస్తూ ఉన్నపుడు ఆకాశం తెరుచుకుంది.
22 and the Ruach ha-Kodesh descended in a bodily form as a dove on him; and a voice came out of the sky, saying "You are my beloved Son. In you I am well pleased."

23 When he began, Yeshua was about thirty years old, being the son, as was supposed, of Joseph, of Eli,
